READ IF CUSTOM ORDER: Planning my wedding cake with them, I…read morelove how their cake tastes and they can do some pretty impressive things on a cake that they just sell day to day in store. I originally had some issues getting them to answer their phone (we get busy, customers walk in, I am in no way upset because I was also busy with college). Now, I thought we had everything finalized, but they double checked to make sure I was still going with them for my wedding cake (which I am super greatful for because... wedding day would have had no wedding cake lol). I went down to the store and got things squared away. I REPEAT, go into the store and double check with them you're in their system because their was some miscommunication over the text even when I thought there wasn't. (Again, I don't think anyone is at fault, just simple miscomunication). I went in today, paid, and have everything set straight. I love their cake, you definetly need to try it for yourself (I bought one of the llama ones they have in their display box).

Every item in the store is so beautifully and intricately decorated that it felt like stepping into a dream. The selection of pastries, cakes, and cookies was incredible--choosing just one was nearly impossible. As Carol was describing some of her offerings, I spotted a mousse cake shaped like a French Bulldog and instantly knew that was the one. I'm so glad I stopped in! If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for your own delicious experience.

Eh. Firstly, do not…read morecome here expecting ButterSweet Cupcakes, it may be similar, but it's since changed hands. The lady running the place could be friendlier. She had a miserable attitude when I was there and made it very uncomfortable and uninviting while ordering. I asked for the dozen count mix of small cupcakes, which turns out are not prepackaged like they are at most places, you pick each one of the dozen for some reason here. They only had 6 different types so had to double up on a few. Price is a 1/5, almost $30 for a dozen mini cupcakes is insane. Taste is a 2.5/5. It was very confusing, some like the blueberry cupcakes were pretty good - though they tasted more like a muffin. But the chocolate was so dry and artificial tasting it wasn't edible. The pumpkin ones were okay, but overall nothing better than a grocery store bakery. Presentation is a zero, she smooshed them all when closing the lid, which was just lazy. I don't get it, maybe it was just an off day or something but I was NOT impressed and it was a disappointing treat for a birthday. Only half were eaten if that tells you anything. I'll stick with some of the other local cupcake shops next time.

I stopped in the other day: two flaky croissants, two rice krispies treats, a slice of marbled pound cake, a cinnamon roll and a cranberry scone. All of it was fresh, delicious, and really hit the spot. The cinnamon roll was huge and just the right amount of sweet (rather than drowning in icing). The scone was perfect, and I enjoyed the croissants. The rice krispie treats left a little to be desired, but that may just be because I make them all the time and I've grown accustomed to doing mine a certain way (browning the butter, etc). All of that was $16. I was shocked at the affordability of this place. While I was there, a guy picked up an insanely beautiful cake for his wife, a chocolate masterpiece with macarons on top. I would definitely feel celebrated if that cake showed up... too bad my husband doesn't read my reviews!! But overall, delicious and a fantastic value. I will definitely be back, and I recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth and desire to support local, independent businesses!
