Shop here is you like to pay high prices for clothes that will fall apart after 2 wears. I've been an avid Torrid shopper for 16 years and the last few years the clothes have been getting more and more subpar in quality, and when I go into exchange the product(s) I get pushback from the employees at this location. I use to spend a lot of money here and they treat me like rubbish, I'm not asking they give me something free I'm just asking to exchange it. It's just not worth the time or money. read more

I went into the store today ready to buy quite a few items: with my mask on, I didn't have it totally over my nose because I have a hard time breathing. The associate asked me put it over my nose so I did, but it kept slipping down. Going into the dressing room she was very short with me about the mask. I told her she didn't need to be rude, she then proceeded to kick me out of the store and threatened to call security on me! I am 54 year old grandmother and was pretty humiliated how I was treated. In my life, I've struggled with being a 'plus sized' girl. I never felt so...HAPPY about shopping. Ever. The girls here, Rena, amazing, simply the best. I was really hesitant on trying clothes, because money. But she told me, that she also had same issues and talked to me about the credit card. I was doubtful due to credit issues, but I got approved! So, she helped me pick out a lovely valentines dress out, a few pieces of clothing, a bra, A BRA THAT FITS!!! I also was never judged, never snubbed and never was given the 'ew...look at her, she's fat.' look. I was with people who were like me, made me laugh, made me feel like a person. I love their clothing and it's so cute and fashionable and edgy. This store in particular is set up much nicer than the one in Newington. The dressing room has fans in each room and white boards on the door so you feel more personalized in your experience, which is a great touch! There are also more fitting rooms than in Newington. The grand opening was a bit crazy, I will say. There were people everywhere. Respectfully, the employees are new and I won't say much about that but it seemed like they felt it was quite chaotic as well because there was only two girls that I saw with a smile on their face. They managed to keep the store pretty clean during the opening as well. I'm really excited that they put this in Manch though! read more

This is in regards to the store itself at the Mall of NH in Manchester, NH. Seriously, it's a fire hazard. The store is no bigger than a closet. Try going in there on a Saturday when there's a sale going on, there's no room to wait in line, the cashiers are just too slow getting people out the door and I don't even know i there's a back door. If I was in the dressing room and there was a fire out front, you would not have a chance. I ended up walking in, and quickly turning around and walk out. They had only the largest sizes, most stuff out of stock and again, you couldn't walk around because it was so crowded. Terrible experience. read more

I have been shopping at Torrid for years. Prior to Torrid, I had been devout to Hot Topic. I have never had any issues with any of the stores I had visited until recently. I went to my local Torrid and received, on two separate occasions- within only a few days of each other, probably the most embarrassing and discouraging experiences. When you shop at Torrid, you're going in to a store that you are supposed to feel welcome, comfortable and confident. Not judged and you expect to be treated with respect, as any other store you'd shop in. Long story short, my first experience was just terrible. I politely "interrupted" two employees who were having a private conversation, to ask about a specific shoe. Annoyed, the girl told me she couldn't get me the size I needed. Instead of just explaining she left it at "I can't get you a different size in that." I had to inquire as o why- she told me they were an online return. Ok. She returned to her conversation. Asked for a different size in another shoe. She went out back, they didn't have it, so I opted for one more size. She went out back, brought the box out and didn't have the decency to hand me the box, but put the box on a clearance display of underwear, only to grab one display shoe and handed it to me. Wrong move. Continued to shop, spent about $300 in the store, came home and 3 of my items still had security tags. No big deal, honest mistake. Fast forward, I go back 3 days later to have security tags taken off and return a few items. Receipt In hand. Let's talk about the shoes. I'm respectful, understanding and easy going. I wore the shoes down my stairs in to my driveway and immediately knew they wouldn't work. My fault. I figured what's the worst they could do- tell me they couldn't return it due to policy? I'd accept it. I've worked in retail my whole life. The last thing I would do is make an issue over a policy. Well, A different employee said, verbatim- "ok these shoes were obviously worn, I'll give you a free pass but this isn't acceptable. It's against our policy." Verbiage and attitude is everything. Immediately turned off, I continued with the return process. She asked for my credit card, I told her I didn't have it (easy fix, it was with my boyfriend waiting outside of the store). I was becoming embarrassed with her tone, it was drawing attention to the register. I decided to just return my items instead of exchanging. Then I had questions regarding haute cash. She looked at how many I had (my mom had given me hers), interrupted me while speaking and told me I had too many, given the amount of money I had. She also told me I needed to keep my receipts with my haute cash, in order to use them. I am not sure why, I have never had to do such a thing. When I say I am a devout customer, I mean ALL of my clothes come from Torrid. From head to toe. I have used my friends haute cash, I have given away my haute cash, never had an issue or have been asked to present a receipt. Anyway, I left the store feeling extremely insecure and belittled. I was disheartened. I normally visit the seabrook store and they are so helpful, happy and easy to be around. I came back to the store thinking ok, only one employee was a little iffy, then coming across another one who was just talking down to me- immediately. I love the clothes, but as a plus size woman, I look forward to not only being able to buy clothes that fit, but be comfortable in the atmosphere. read more
