This company is GREATLY overrated…read more Our project involved a large backyard space transformation and included installation of a fiberglass pool, sport court and stone patio. The cost of the project was well above 200K. Throughout, our project was marred by delays, setbacks, mistakes, and frustrations in dealing with a company that refuses to take accountability and has very little interest in striving for customer satisfaction. In the end the experience was wholly unpleasant and I would not recommend this company. I waited a year to post this review in a fair effort to have the owner address multiple deficiencies (for details see Homestars review). After being ignored and receiving more gaslighting comments, I finally felt that it was important for other potential customers to hear of a different experience with this company. In my opinion, a company's true nature is shown by how they address mistakes and strive for customer satisfaction. No one is perfect but to continually ignore, deflect and string along a paying customer like ME did to us is completely unacceptable. By the way, the latest "glowing" review prior to mine is from the wife of the owner of the company!

Garage Build--Reliable, Professional, Detailed and Efficient…read more I had a great experience working with Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I hired them to remove and construct a new garage. Adam and his team understood the entire scope of the work. I was provided with a detailed schedule, timelines, and estimate before commencing the project. There was an issue with a city tree on my neighbour's property that had to be dealt with. Other contractors vanished at this point in the project. Adam guided me on what steps I had to take and the necessary paperwork I needed to file with the city over the course of seven months. When the project was finally approved, the trades workers were on time, highly skilled, professional and efficient. Adam was there at the beginning and end of every part of the construction. I greatly appreciated the regular communications I received. He even made sure my neighbours were satisfied with how the construction was effecting them. I can't say enough positive things about Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I will use them again for my next project. I highly recommend that anyone give them an opportunity; you will not be disappointed.

My most recent experience was with Tom, and he really took the time to help me out. My order had quite a few ups and downs as it was my first time placing an order. He was patient and always got back to my when i had more questions. Last week, I put the order on hold even though we really needed to order it because of logistics. I finally got to the shop today to submit payment and was expecting the order to not arrive til late this week or early next week, but he had already placed the order for me and it will be arriving tomorrow. Great service, friendly staff and good products.

We went to Factory Tile Depot to look at tiles for a bathroom reno. I found the layout of the store…read morea little difficult to browse as the sheets are quite heavy. They have a huge amount of stock and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. I think they had some really great tiles but they can be quite hidden. The pricing was difficult to locate and didn't appear to be per square foot like other stores. That can make it difficult to compare pricing. Otherwise I look forward to working with the staff on our future projects.

Bought tiles for bathroom reno in November. Tracy was helping me. I was debating using large tiles…read morefor the shower floors vs the typical small tiles. My contractor said that he would be ok doing that only if I also ordered the Schluter Kerdi shower base system. When I asked Tracy how much more (besides the tiles) this would cost me, she only quoted me 2 of the 3 pieces required. The base (talked to my contractor to ask what size was needed) and the linear drain Cover but made no mention of the actual drain also required. Cost: $656+ tax. So, I decided to go for it. Couple of weeks ago my contractor went to pick up the piece to start the job...no drain. Had to rush order it and the Cost: $417. When I talked to Tracy today she told me the contractor would not know what exact drain to order until he broke up the floor and it was up to me and him to ensure we ordered what we needed etc. When I mentioned that she never once mentioned this to me, she said that it was back in November and she could not recall the conversations regarding this order. When I explained that had I known that the Whole shower base system was going to run me nearly 1200$ I Would have used the smaller tiles. She was unsympathetic and Refused to acknowledge that it was her quoting error and refused to cover the additional cost or even charge me for her cost of the product ie waiving profit. Not impressed at all. When I make an error, I don't make others pay for it.

I purchased engineered hardwood through Nick with an installation date of Oct 29/30. I was living…read morein a hotel due to a flood and was not in my unit when the floor was installed. When I moved back in on Nov 12 I discovered glue all over my floor, chips, scratches, dents from dropped tools, holes and saw marks and none of the doorstop moulding they applied was installed correctly. To date I have sent photos to Nick 3 times, spoken to the manager who appears to be completely out to lunch and have called Nick numerous times to have this resolved. each time Nick promises to call be the next day at a particular time to resolve the issue and to date he has not called back once, I have to keep calling him. The installers were Adam Kharaman and his son from Kharaman Flooring. I asked Adam to come back to repair the floor and remove the doorstop moulding so I could have another company come in and do the job properly, he removed most, not all, of the doorstop and destroyed my baseboards, which will now also need to be replaced. I had to ask him to remove the nails, which he said he would hammer in. He did sort of hammer a few over, but most of the nails are sticking straight out of my baseboards now. The floor has not been repaired and replaced where necessary and every time Adam comes into my home he causes more damage and is now not allowed back. Take a look at the photos and decide for yourselves whether this is a job you would want done in your home. So far, I have been offered a"free" box of flooring, which does me no good since A) I am recovering from a spinal fusion, and B) I"M NOT A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER; I PAID FOR A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER TO DO THE JOB! I want this done so the restoration from the flood is complete, and I can move on with my life. At this point, I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved. This whole experience has been a bad joke. UPDATE: Jan 06- Nick Granita made an appointment with me to come out this evening at 6:00 pm to take a look at the shoddy workmanship and discuss repairs, as expected; he did not call or show up at my home. UPDATE: Jan 07 - I called The Hardwood Flooring Store and asked to speak to the owner; Ron Ander who told me he was with a client and couldn't speak to me and then had a meeting but would call me back in 45 minutes. Fair enough, but as expected, like NickGranita he did not call back to discuss the issue. UPDATE: 08 - I just spoke to Ron Ander who tells me this has nothing to do with him or his company and unless I remove this revue he isn't going to do anything to have the the job that I paid for completed and that he's going to post a response saying that I'm some sort of crank. Well, Mr Ander, Kahraman Flooring was sent out by your company and as the owner the buck stops with you. I have been trying to come to some sort of resolution since Nov 15 2024, this review wasn't posted Mid-December, your company had plenty of opportunities to turn this around but chose not to. Again, look at the photos of their work and ask yourself who the crank is and if this is the kind of work you would want in your home. It looks like we're going to court, along with Adam Kharaman of Kharaman Flooring. FAFO
