Went there in the morning and food came fast!! Amazing customer service from Caylon at the front counter! Will come again

First off service was amazing! Naomi was such a sweetheart with a kind smile ready to answer any questions I had. We ended up ordering a taco from each meat section. Our top favorites were the chicken fajita taco and the pork green chili taco. The shrimp taco was okay but we wish it had maybe a little more flavor and maybe grilled shrimp. Margarita on the rocks was top notch. Thank you for a great Cinco de Mayo/ Taco Tuesday! We can't wait to come back and try more. read more

I came in to place a takeout order and had a very disappointing experience. The man at the register was unfriendly and unprofessional. When I got home and opened my bag, the paper bag holding the tacos tore because it was completely soaked in oil. Every taco was sitting in a pool of oil and was inedible. The meat in each taco looked questionable and unappetizing. The rice was extremely dry and bland, and the beans were just as disappointing. I've ordered this exact meal from other Torchy's Tacos locations without any issues, which makes this even more frustrating. This experience did not meet basic standards of food quality or service. Sooooo, my wife and I went on a date last Friday night and grabbed a few tacos. This is now the 4th time we've been to this specific location, and the meat (beef, chicken, pork) is just never seasoned,like, at all. The steak also has a strange texture, which isn't an issue at any of the other Torchy's locations. We're honestly so disappointed because every other Torchy's in the area nails the seasoning and cooks the meat perfectly. It's just this one location, and I have no idea why. The crazy part is that when this location first opened, the meat was amazing. Now, not so much. Also, the guacamole has gotten worse each time we've come. The queso is still amazing, but that's about it. I'm sad this Torchy's food does not have the same standards as their neighboring Torchy's in the area. read more

FOOD: Stopped in to try the new RONIN taco. It's the taco of the month. The taco has teriyaki steak, chipotle slaw, grilled onions, cotija cheese, peanuts, sriracha, and avocado sauce on a flour tortilla. It's sounded very interesting so I thought why not. I was not impressed with it. Maybe the peanuts were too much. However, it was fun to try. I also think they didn't put much sauce on it. I will start saying extra sauce. I didn't taste the sriracha at all. The meat could have been a bit more tender. The overall flavor and components were just ok. The taco complexity of ingredients sounded better than it tasted. 3 STARS SERVICE: was good no complaints. The staff seemed pleasant. 4 STARS AMBIANCE: I love the decor and design of this location. So RED and vibrant. It's cool and fun with a great vibe and energy. The lighting fixtures are so cool. 4 STARS I am only giving them a 4 because the Ambiance and Service. The food is definitely not the star of this visit. Looking forward to the next new taco of the month. read more

Ordered online after a long day of volleyball and the queso and chips hit the spot. Plenty of parking and easy to find. I ordered ahead and had to wait just a few minutes to get my order. Indoor and patio seating. Will be back if I am in the area. But Torchys is everywhere thank goodness. read more

All the usual suspects are here waiting for you to order your idea of the perfect taco. All named to ease your memory for the next trip in. For example; the Trailer Trash is a flour tortilla stuffed with fried chicken, pablano sauce,mixed cheeses,pico de Gallo,green chilies and lettuce. The prices have doubled in the last few years and what was once a delicious bargain at $2.75 is now just satisfactory at $5ish. Torchy's queso has definitely become a love language and the fact that this location is so close to our house is DANGEROUS (in a good way!) The queso (hillbilly style) is always my #1 recommendations for anyone visiting torchy's! the trailer park and the tipsy chick are my other go to tacos! My husband religiously ordered the ace of spades but they recently took that off of the secret menu breaking his heart. Service here has always been great! Although there drive-thru can be slow at times, it's pretty convenient for pick up! The restaurant is always clean with plenty of spots to sit! They have ample amounts of TVs at the bar if you're there to watch the game. read more

We looove Torchy's!!! This location just opened up in May and this was our first time checking it out. They have a really nice patio area and they even have a drive thru!!! In our humble opinion the queso and margaritas are undefeated! If you get nothing else at least try these! The tacos are incredibly filling and usually I'm good with just one especially with the queso. My recent go to is the tipsy chick. During our meal we spoke to the GM Danny who brought us our food and was very involved in running the business on the ground level. After our conversation he gave us some free coupons for tacos and queso which was really nice! Torchy's is a staple and we are excited to have one so close! read more

Food is good WHEN/IF it's made correctly... this store is constantly messing up my order. Recently ordered 3 BYO tacos. I chose chorizo, cheese and green chiles, AND paid to include potatos, which use to be an option without an up-charge only a few months ago. They did not even include chorizo on my tacos. So I paid almost $5 for a taco that was missing the main ingredient. read more

Gone to Torchys ALOT. Just noticed something different this past Tuesday afternoon. Normally I get the Trailer park. In the past it comes with two chicken strips and I would get an extra tortilla and split the chicken to make two smaller tacos. This time it came with one piece of chicken. I'd like the manager of this account to tell me if I should have gotten two chicken strips and my order was wrong or is Torchys going the route of shrink-flation and reducing the amount of meat in the tacos? So when I order a trailer park next time and it only comes with one chicken strip should I tell them it should be two. If honest mistake I'll change my review. read more

They have a taco with salmon that is SO YUMMY! And a fire taco that is quite spicy -- please get the sauce on the side and add sparingly. They are quick and will have your food waiting on you so be there when you say you will if ordering ahead! They use your name when speaking to you and it makes you feel like they are truly serving. The food at this location is consistently good, which is what keeps us coming back. However, yesterday when we visited I was surprised at the lack of attention from the staff, specifically the bar tender. She wasn't behind the bar initially (I understand, it wasn't terribly busy) but even after she came out from the back door to make my margarita (which was $12 - not worth it if you're trying the Scallywag for the first time) she never made eye contact or spoke to us (we were sitting at the bar!). She made my margarita without a word or smile. She helped a few customers at the registers that came in to order and seemed pleasant enough for those short interactions. But what really got me was that she decided to sit down on the floor behind the bar/point of sale and stare at her phone for half the time we were there. I was shocked that this type of unprofessional behavior would be exhibited from a staff member at this establishment. Far from making the customers feel valued. Train your staff please!!! read more

I want you to like Torchy's but I just don't. :/ Their guac and queso are both very spicy. I got a beef and chicken taco and both came out cold - not kind of warm, cold. (Thankfully they did remake) The worst thing is that they took Nookies off the menu. I think we that was the only thing I really liked on the menu :( read more

Visited this location last week because I have a memory of eating at a torchy's tacos in Austin several years ago and it was so good! On A-F grading scale, I'd give this about a C-. passing but not super impressive. We ordered four tacos and a beer for 2 people and it was about $35 with a tip, which is slightly annoying because you order at the counter and bus your own table. But whatever, that's the new normal. The avocado taco was not like I remembered, smallish portions, meh flavor, it was ok, but probably wouldn't order it again. The Barbacoa taco was cold. The meat was lukewarm on the outside & cold in the middle, like it was microwaved? Certainly did not appear freshly made. Yeah, no thanks. So many other choices around we probably won't go back for a while. Hopefully they iron the kinks out. On a positive note, the beer was cold and the service was fast so there's that. read more

This place is very hard to get in and out of off University Dr 380 with no traffic light. Dark and not cheerful inside the whole place looked like a bar and corral , less floor space. I don't recommend the food was not as good as I expected from a Torchys, and smaller portions. The queso was not as cheesy and good here. Chips were not hot. I got corn tortillas on my taco but seemed smaller than usual. Place was pretty empty not a happy place. read more

Tacos are great...but the wait?? INSANE. If you know you are going to be slammed on a weekday at lunch time, please staff accordingly. Or tell people WHEN they order that the wait is 25 minutes. We ordered to go and sat...and sat...and sat. And waited and waited and waited. No seating inside so we sweltered outside. It's 100 degrees today, no water misters outside. Almost 25 minutes for two tacos? 25 minutes? C'mon. Then the food comes out of the kitchen on a tray when I ordered it to go. Four more minutes for them to put it in a bag to go. I would have went somewhere else had I just known how long it would be. Communication is key. Won't be returning for a while, or I'll go to the one in Allen that's staffed properly. read more

I LOVE Torchy's. Their queso is delicious and I love the Jamaican Jerk taco. The salsas have a kick which I appreciate but was a bit too much for some family members. I was really excited to see that there was this location in McKinney when we were staying there. We went in and the place looked nice and clean. We ordered at the counter for a to-go order. We all got drinks and sat down and waited for our order to be up. The wait was RIDICULOUS! It easily took 30 minutes to get a few burritos and a couple tacos with queso. While we waited for the food, three guys looked to be having a meeting next to us and I didn't think much of it until the 30 minutes was up and one of the guys got up and went back to the kitchen and came out with our food. I don't know if this is what took so long for our food but the wait was out of control and the reason for a minus star.
