It had been several years since I visited this restaurant, but we were in the mood for tacos and did not want to spend $100 for dinner so we decided to give this place a try. This experience was really good. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to your table. It was fast service. We had the green chili queso which, based on my previous review, is really good. I was not wrong. The queso is excellent, not too spicy but very flavorful. I had a chicken fajita taco and it was excellent. The chicken was tender and had a deep smokey flavor. For $5 it was a deal. The salsa verde was really spicy but I got mine on the side so I could portion it myself. That's one tasty taco! The wife had the Republican, which is a brisket taco. She loved hers too. The meat was tender and smoky, The only downside to the meal was the combo of rice and beans which we got for the kid. It was too spicy for her. I tried the rice and it was spicy. She did not eat much. That is the reason for 4 stars and not 5. They need a kid's menu with spice levels toned down a bit. Overall, I saved about $100 over what we would spend at our usual Mexican restaurants. We enjoyed the food. We will be back.

Wait time is ridiculous when they only had a couple of guests when I arrived around 10:15 am.

Called to place an order because I don't feel comfortable giving any financial/personal information to an AI bot. I talked to a person who took my order but she put me on hold for 8min. When she finally responded, she confirmed my order and hung up. When I arrived, the manager said he'd put my order in because she didn't put the order in. This defeats the whole purpose of "to-go". This is the second time I've had to deal with this type of service from Torchy's in the last year. Then the manager told me "why I was yelling at him". I would check the cameras, because I wasn't yelling, I was talking over the loud music by the bar. There are better taco places out there in Dallas.

While visiting from CA, found this near the Dallas Arboretum. We were looking for a Quick, No frills, TexMex sit down place that was not just a taqueria , and this met every part of it. Awesome food, with. Vegetarian options that my wife enjoyed. And if you are looking for top shelf drinks at a reasonable price, this place has a great selection of those as well.

We got a trailer park trashy, baja shrimp, some kind of bourbon taco (it is not on the menu and I lost our receipt) and the taco of the month which was bad santa. We ordered a bean and cheese taco for kidlet. I was bummed that this is just tacos a la carte. I wish they had a platter where you could get 2 tacos and a side or two. I found the tacos expensive for what you get. While I appreciate that they have interesting flavors and combinations $5 a taco for what you get isn't really worth it (in my opinion). Our food was also barely warm. Kidlet's taco was cold and you could tell as the cheese was not melted and sure enough we felt it and it was not warm in the slightest. Also since this is the first and last one I have ever been in I am not sure if this is common at all of them but they look very unfinished. Lots of exposed beams and wood projects that look like they were just thrown up. Very little effort put into decor. I mean I was there for food and not decor but it was odd. I can now say I have eaten here but wouldn't go out of my way to eat at one if it was nearby.

Never knew Torchy's Tacos on Garland Road was so large and inviting. The bar area is a great place to meet neighbors and make new friends. I went last night to see a gal pal and we ended up laughing our way through the evening with a fun group of customers. SHOUT OUT to the bartender Rita "As in Margarita" she told us - easy to remember. She's been there 8 years, starting with four in the kitchen and then moving out to behind the cool bar. She was very efficient, chatted up the customers a little, kept the bar area clean and did it all with a friendliness that was pretty amazing since she's pregnant! THIS woman deserves to be moved into management: organized; hard working; smart. What are you waiting for Torchy's???? Give Rita a raise and a promotion!!! Lived over here for over 2 decades and never made it across the street (from Chili's) but I certainly will be BAAACK! Thanks Rita for a fun evening at Torchy's!

Torchy's was a great place for tacos and chips and queso. The queso was full of flavor and it wasn't bland. This was a nice appetizer to chomp on while waiting for our tacos to arrive. Also props to the chips for having enough salt that they taste great to eat on their own. I ordered the trailer park and fried avocado taco. The Trailer Park taco was delicious. I enjoyed the fried chicken in a taco with all of options. It just ended up tasting wonderfully. And the fried avocado was a fantastic contrast to the fried chicken. It was a nice change in texture that wasn't disgusting. So very delicious.

Fear not we have eaten several times at Torchy's in last year just in Colllin county. We only get to this location once a year for an errand. They didn't disappoint as the tacos were super great. Yes, it's Texas-mex, yes it makes no excuses about authenticity- however, their frozen margarita is great, and their food excellent! Their nachos (for a limited time only) were some of the best and plentiful I've had a in a long time. I will come back again. read more

Called to place an order because I don't feel comfortable giving any financial/personal information to an AI bot. I talked to a person who took my order but she put me on hold for 8min. When she finally responded, she confirmed my order and hung up. When I arrived, the manager said he'd put my order in because she didn't put the order in. This defeats the whole purpose of "to-go". Started with a half queso - it was delicious with a nice little kick. He got a tailgater that was a fried chicken tender with wing sauce and bleu cheese crumbles....and raved about it. However, the democrats sucked. Disappointing. Although he said the meat was good. Republicans, on the other hand....amazing. I got mine with sauces on the side. Wish there was grilled pineapple here. I've been searching for a spicy fried shrimp taco with grilled pineapple ever since happy taco left garland. Sigh. Place is nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. read more

This is our local torchys that we frequent. It's always really good and has never had any complaints. Tonight we got 5 tacos, chips queso and salsa to go. I was significantly disappointed when two of the trailer parks were a little bit more than half cooked. This has never happened before and we were disappointed in the quality of food. Their tacos aren't cheap either so when it happens to two of them. Kinda stinks. Hopefully they can review the quality of the food a little bit more. read more

I like Torchys, I really do. But 75% of the time my order is wrong. Sometimes it's the wrong tortilla, sometimes it's the wrong item, sometimes they just don't bring something. But almost always, I ask for queso with no Diablo sauce and it comes with Diablo sauce. I can't eat it and it's such a pain in the a** to ask for a different queso every time. So I gave up. Probably not ordering the queso ever again. Still might be back, maybe chips and guacamole next time? read more

I'm not coming here anymore. I've given multiple chances and they always get my order wrong. There's been instances when I come up there 2x for the same order. I know my fault for not checking. Erica made our visit with 16 teenagers absolutely amazing! We descended upon this location during a trip from Maryland with no heads up to the staff because we had to try the famous tacos. And they accommodated us beautifully. AND! The tacos, chips and queso and churros were everything we hoped for and more. This place is truly delicious and the management is top notch! read more

I love me some torchy taco! Come to Jacksonville Florida. The tacos are unique and not like anything I have ever tasted. It's been a little bit since being in Texas. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

I took my family to this location May 11th the day before Mother's Day. This specific location is not one I visit often but was convenient for the errands I was running. I typically eat at Torchy's at least once a week if not more. For about 10 years now. My family knows if asked that is my number one choice. This particular visit really put a new perspective on where I chose to eat location wise. I get to the walk up order locaction area. No one at the counter. I am still double checking with my 3 kids what they want. After about 5 minutes I told my kids to sit in the booth right behind while I order. There was a lady in a black and red tie dyed Torchy shirt that had been texting a little ways from the counter but basically right there. I had waved she looked up from her phone and went straight back to texting. It wasn't till about 10 minutes later the line that had quickly formed behind me someone asked if I have been helped. After letting another customer know Ive been here for a long time she flagged down someone off the clock. They ended up finding a Trainer on duty who came to the front. A back and forth happened where the employee behind the bar texting said well I don't have a card what do you want me to do. After things were figured out She finally started taking my order. As someone who eats here regularly my kids orders sometimes change but I am very specific with my order but not complicated. Ordered everything after multiple eye rolls and I can't order that even though it's on the kids menu. I get to my taco which is a Madidor sub jerk chicken because I don't eat red meat. He argued a bit back and forth that we don't Change or do that. At this point I was ready to leave but another co worker showed her how to ring in this modification. I pay and go to get my kids drink and water. She comes to me while I have 4 drinks in hand and says here is your Torchy's Tini. I point out the obvious my hands are full. She hufs and pufs and rolls her eyes. I let her know follow me these 20 steps or I can come get it. At the point I should have just left but have paid for my food and I decide to stay. The food starts to come out and everything seems OK. I talked to the person who dropped my food off, which was I believe Garrett or Jarrett and I just kind of let him know what was happening. I was very unhappy and had a really uncomfortable encounter with the lady at the front, he let me know that he was a trainer and they were working on certain things. I will say he made the visit a lot better and that I will continue to go back to Torchy's. The more frustrating part is that the taco her and I went back-and-forth about was never rand in correctly and the food runner looked at me as if I might have not specified what I wanted. We waited for that, and on top of it that there was a significant amount of fruit flies that we continued to shoe away from our food. Despite the great effort overall from the trained it was a really unpleasant experience and I would not recommend going to this location until they're cleaned up. There are no better tacos anywhere else in Dallas. Excited about having Torchy's in ou"r neighborhood. Finally! Super long lines = what do you think. Food and service here is top notch. So what, it took 15 minutes in line and 10 minutes to get my food, but the food was amazing. It's not fast food, so all you other reviewers need to get that in your head. Opened for a few weeks now and of course there are bumps and bruises, but definitely doesn't deserve the bashing. If you want fast food tacos.... Taco Bell and Good2Go Tacos is just that. If you want a gourmet street taco, Torchy's is the SPOT! Oh, and they have a full bar.... They infuse their own Habanero Tequila!!! The queso was pretty good and the beer was cold but the chicken and beef tacos had NO flavor the tortillas were stale and they just sucked, plus they were waaayyy overpriced. Still, the service was very friendly and the people seemed cool enough plus i liked the soda fountain. If only the food was good. Even with the tacos not being any good at all I still think that this place is the best that Casa Linda has to offer as far as a cool place to have a beer and lunch with friends. Great concept on Taco's!! I would never have tried it by myself but went with a group of friends and it was a very pleasant surprise!! I mistakenly thought it was mexican food. Its hit or miss with the tacos for me i personally wont come back but its one of my wifes favorite mexican chains... Dont know why... She likes the brushfire... I remember we got 8 tacos i think i liked 1 of them and 2 were decent... But its a fun vibed place to try different tacos read more
