Just few minutes down the road, I stepped into a place which took me back to the local places in DR (A cozy place with 3 tables). My to go Latin dish is always Mofongo while my wife ordered Chicharrones Lunch. While waiting for the food we chatted with the owners who were super nice and approachable. And even thou it was after lunch hours, people just kept coming in for various dishes. Our food came out and those first bites were simply delicious. Mofongo was done to perfection, seasoned correctly and not dry (like most places); chicharrones were nicely crisp, not over fried with side of plantains which complemented the dish to a tee. We even got a complementary piece of cake from a local customer (like who does that). Amazing. Can't rave more about it but I want more... next time.

We placed the order over the phone and when we arrived we noticed the name of the place was different and there was no longer any parking in the parking lot as it was totally blocked off by a fence. Luckily we found a parking spot on a side street. We picked up our order, brought it home, proceeded to eat it and realized it was definitely not the same. Sadly, everything was dry, bland, or undercooked. We ate what we could but didn't really enjoy it. Sorry to say that we won't be back.

I went on the weekend, and for a new place there was a lot of people present. I tried the beef empanadas which comes with dipping sauces which bring them to life. I also had a guanabana soursop drink which was nice and cold, if there is an option for more creamy and sweet I would opt for that since it is cold weather. I also had the Salteado mixta with white rice and fried plantain. This dish has beef, shrimp, and chicken and sweet pepper strips. All foods were hot, the Salteado came out on a hot dish which kept the temperature. Overall the place was nice and clean, I sat in at the bar area as seating was easier for one person. I would come back as there are many good options to try. The food was good.

My son and I had the Churssasco, which was cooked to perfection and accompanied with Rice and plantains (Platanos Maduros). We also ordered sides of bean and Papas Fritas (which reminded my wife of the fries her grandmother used to make). My wife got the Arepa de Pollo, which was exquisite. My nephew ordered the Arroz con Pollo, which was great and such a large portion. My son and nephew split the flan between them, they are still talking about how delicious it was. The service was just perfect, the staff were attentive and friendly. The owner even came out to introduce himself and check on us. It was such an all around great experience, I can't wait to go back.
