This review may be a bit bias as I was attending a golf clinic with my daughter for the first time through excel. We had the downstairs bays and although chilly the overhead heat made it more tolerable. The heat is not throughout so in order to get some feels of warmth you have to be directly under the heat. Also, parking is horrible here they only have about 20 spots directly in the same vicinity as the establishment, after all are full you must park across the street. We had about 5 kids on each bay and went on to play a competitive game that although we didn't think it was scoring correctly the kids still enjoyed themselves. read more

Went to top golf for fun. Did the reservation for the bay online and checked in by phone. When we got there, I just made sure I was checked in. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful. As we waited, we got some drinks and went downstairs to wait for the text for our bay. They were playing really great music, the second floor is a little loud, so if you want to wait without the blasting music in your ear. I would say go downstairs. We got our bay, and we went to it and picked our game. We ordered food and they were great! Mac and cheese bites: 5/5 Margarita pizza: 3/5 (I liked it because it was a whole Flatbread pizza. This is a good Topgolf experience at National Harbor. I visited on a Saturday afternoon shortly after opening and it was not packed. Strategically I booked the reservation for this reason. After a couple hours it began to pick up with customer traffic as I was leaving. Overall the customer service was good. The host who escorted us to our bay was pleasant and kind. Our waiter was also very courteous. The food menu is typical American bar food. The drink menu was also customary and adequate for a sports bar. The gameplay on the golf bays is very simple and fun. I believe all of the bays have heat radiating posts operated during the colder months. But understand, when it is freezing and windy outside, those radiators are ineffective, so plan your ocassion accordingly. If visiting for the sports bar aspect, the indoor setting is perfect with TVs and such. Indoors is also closed off from the outside, so it is temperature controlled. Made a 90 min reservation. Arrived early and waited in the lobby, get a text that our bay was ready, right at the start of the reservation. Make our way upstairs to the bay and there is a large group of people still there. Mind you, we passed several empty bays on our way there. Wait for them to leave, have our table cleaned, have someone get the clubs we needed and the clock is ticking this whole time. About 10 min had passed by the time we were actually able to start playing. The service, as many others note, was slow. My margarita was salty and watered down. The apps were OK but took forever. A manager placed a couple orders for us because the server was MIA. It would have been a lot more efficient to let guests place their own orders from a kiosk and just have food/drink runners. Towards the end of our reservation, the server interrupts our game to enter that we are not extending, which I had already done. The game cut off in the middle of my turn with 3-4 min left in our reservation, which did not account for the late start through no fault of our own. They seemed very keen on making sure we were vacating the bay immediately. In all, I'd say we were shorted about 15 min of play. When you're paying over $1 a minute, it's kind of a big deal. My kids have played before but not at this location so I had to pay an extra $6 for each of them. There are much better ways to drop a couple hundred dollars on the family on a Saturday afternoon. Worst service I've ever gotten. My group and I went on a Thursday night around 8ish, and was seated close to 9 o'clock. No one came to serve us or provide drinks until I went up and asked a worker if my table could have a server. We got a serve pretty fast but she had the worst attitude ever, maybe she just had a bad day, I'm not sure. But we ordered waters and one soda, took about 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and we still weren't asked for our food orders. I had to wait and pull her aside as she was walking up and down the hall. My group ordered two sides of fries that took forever to come out. Once our first plate of fries came there were no plates or napkins provided to us, and I had to go ask someone for those things. We never got our second plate of fries even though we asked two random workers. Hosted a small corporate event here last Friday and the team was awesome! We reserved 3 bays, with a food and drink package and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The planning and coordination was seamless, when people arrived, everyone was directed to the right bays and the food was actually REALLY good! The young lady who tended to our party was also great (and I'm bummed I don't remember her name) along with the young ladies who helped us with our drinks and a food. We were able to sync all of the bays so we could get some good competition going. Surprisingly enough, the space heaters were great so it wasn't too cold being outside. For my first time coming here I'd say playing the games were fun but the service was not great , our servers name was Joel F. I was not happy with how slow certain things where for the food id understand, but to bring me one 1 Pepsi waiting for like 10 mins+ also asking for some ranch which I never got, ALSOOO we had two checks because we came as a friend group of 4 in total so the checks got split I explained everything we got on our half and my boyfriend handed his card and our other friends have their check, so two cards where handed, tell me why he charged both checks in our friends card after CONFIRMING BOTH CARD HOLDERS.... I haven't been back for about a year so decided to stop by on a Tuesday afternoon since I was in the area. They had a over for half price game play so figured I would take advantage of the deal. I met a Yelp friend here and we didn't have a reservation so expected a little bit of a wait. After checking in I was quoted a 45 min wait. Wasn't a huge amount of time so we went to the bar on the second floor to grab a drink and some appetizers. After robot 15 minutes I received a text that my bay was ready. Nice that it was sooner than expected but I was still waiting for my nachos. It wasn't a big deal to text them that I wanted to wait 30 more min. I received another message and got my bay reservation without needed to speak to a live person. Once I got to my bay I was able to set everything up since I have been before. A short time later my waitress stopped by to check on me and took my drink order. After playing for 30 min I made my food order for a flat bread pepperoni pizza. Surprisingly the pizza came out well before my drink. When I asked my waitress about it she went back and got it. I only ordered a beer and our bay was right by the bar so don't know what the hold up was. When it arrived I noticed it was not very cold so it probably had been sitting on the bar for a little while. Overall service was a bit slow. Waitress did now check on use frequently. Halfway through our session the waitress left and we found out the waitress had been in training and now someone else was taking over the section . She did a pretty good job so her mistakes and slower service are more forgivable. It was still and fun time and not bad on half price days. read more

The staff at this location was spot on, extremely attentive, very welcoming and friendly, no complaints what do ever ..... The food that was provided was well presented and perfect. We had an open bar and the bar staff were quick, friendly and poured nice drinks. I made a reservation for 6 people, which is the maximum for one bay. I wanted to add two more people to the reservation, and needed to update my reservation. The website says to book two bays together, so they can be next to each other, and cancel the other reservation. However, the website also says cancellations are non refundable if made within 24 hours... this is very misleading. I called asking them to add a bay without having to cancel, but they said it cannot be done. I have to cancel my existing reservation and lose my money, then rebook. This is a ridiculous scam. Why should I lose my money if I am coming anyways? I am very disappointed. read more

While my party had a good time because it was like a mini reunion for us and we hadn't seen each other in forever, many years for some, the service here was mostly horrible. Another yelper couldn't have been more spot on when describing it as chaotic and disorganized. I know large parties aren't always easy, but there should be certain level of communication at least. Also Top Golf appears to be designed for groups. While waiting for our bay, we sat at a table in the dining / bar area. My friend had to ask at least 2-3x for water, and we had to hunt down / flag down the server just to get in orders. They took forever to come back and check on us. Meanwhile I see all the female staff members in the corner by the bar giggling, and then one young lady getting an attitude storming off. Some sort of drama & confusion was going on that night. The fastest our server moved was when it came to our checks, which she said she'd transfer over to our bay. This Top Golf seems to have all kid employees. (Maybe high school or early college age) The server who set us up in the system for playing was patient as we came in and got settled, but not warm. Pros: - The food tasted pretty good once it finally arrived (notables: macaroni bites & queso dip) - Ample parking, some - Outdoor heaters Pain Points: - Unprofessional and unattentive servers - Slow service - Orders took very long but even no update on the food in case the kitchen was backed up - Basic requests for sides or straws often took long or got forgotten - Bay Server had a bad attitude - No comp or discount offered for all the inconvenience The check came altogether in one. This also took a while. The server asked me to write out how it should be split and I was going to, but my friends took it and went to the front desk to work it out. By that time the majority of our party was pretty much done dealing with her. You never know what people have going on and maybe it was her first day? No idea. Luckily, Vicki, who was a manager, not even our server, was great and quite helpful with a nice attitude. A tall skinny white gentleman working the front (Xavier maybe?) is who ended up helping us with our checks at the register. Two star rating is: 1 for Vicki, the other for Xavier. First time coming to this specific TopGolf. We came on a Tuesday so it seemed like a pretty busy night. Reservations were at 8:30pm but got there a bit early so we ordered drinks and watched TV at the bar. I ordered a Mulligan, which was very good, although I wish it was a bit larger for the price I paid. Once we were given our lot, we were met by our server right away and ordered drinks. The drinks came by quickly and we were also brought the chips and queso we had ordered. We played for about 90 minutes with a group of 6 people. However, our lot was a bit small for 6 people as we kind of had to play musical chairs every time someone got up to hit. I enjoy topgolf. On this occasion my family and family friends arrived around 2pm on a Friday. The facility was wide open with a plethora of bays available for use. Our bay was clean and signs leading to it were easy to follow. Our server was prompt and kind. She was able to assist us with game play and food/drink orders. We ordered pretzels which were really tasty. The adults had alcohol based beverages and the children had various sodas. We enjoyed it all. Family friendly venues that can keep both adults and children entertained can be difficult to find. Topgolf makes it easy. I do wish it was easier to setup reservations or multiple bays without any fees. The fees seem like a money grab and kind of unnecessary. All in all I like TG and will definitely return. read more
