The place is nice, ample parking. The customer service here is pretty lacking. Most of the employees seem like they don't really know what they are doing and don't really want to work. We held my son's birthday party here last year and they were just so slow to get us started. They are totally unmotivated. I wanted to get set up right away to put up some balloons, etc. and be ready for our guests. I let that slide because Top Golf is fun and all the kids had a good time and the lunch baskets were plentiful. We made another trip yesterday and I was unhappy with our waiter. She didn't take drink orders for our 3 kids. When we inquired she told my husband she asked and no one wanted anything..Big Lie. Who would believe that 3 kids under age 10 didn't want a soda after eating 3 pounds of fries. The kids meals are so small. It's a slider with a load of fries, disappointing! Called back in to see about it and we reached a call center located God knows where. They claimed to have reached out to the location and they can't find the card..less than an hour later. This is my second visit to this Topgolf and I have nothing but good experiences. We have made reservations at least a week before coming and so we're usually able to get seated as soon as our entire party of 6 is there. Covid precautions are in place, and I have seen the spaces being sanitized in between parties. The staff is always very nice, attentive and respectful. It can get busy in the weekends and they still do their best to accommodate to all, attend to us, and make us feel welcomed. I have tried their chicken strips, pretzel bites, bbq brisket flatbread, and Mac n cheese balls, and wings--all of which were good but I especially enjoyed the Mac n cheese bites and the flatbread. I don't really play golf but have enjoyed trying to get as many points as possible, and learning better ways to aim my clubs and position myself in order to get better points and swing better. There are clubs already present once you get to your table, but you can also bring your own gear. There is also a heater on your table, which is great to have when you stop by on a colder day. Really nice and fun ambiance. Can be a location with a few friends, a date, or for family bonding, I have seen adults and children stop by together. If you're afraid of heights, perhaps request the lower deck (we had the upper deck). It's loud. Golfing made fun! TVs galore. Huge food menu. Easy interface for game play. Many size golf clubs (not sure why they're gendered). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Bays were spaced out with thick plastic curtains between each. All staff were wearing masks, but most customers were not when they were in their bays (I don't think it's required). Montgomery County Maryland prohibits alcohol after 9 PM because of COVID-19, which is crazy. Our reservation was at 10 PM. There's a $5 fee to register every new player. It's not mandatory, but it's a way to keep score. If you're paying $50/hour for a bay, then what's another $5? read more

We had such a fabulous time at Topgolf! It was my birthday weekend and we wanted to do something different, so I looked up Topgolf online, reserved a bay for $15, and waited patiently to arrive. Side note, I would book a bay to play. You can book up to 7-days in advance. The Topgolf located in Germantown, MD is massively huge. It's essentially a sports complex where all levels of golfers (from pros, wanna be pros and I have no clue about golf) can come out to get their swing/hit on. The bays are individualized and can accommodate 6 guests each. They're climate controlled, so you can play when it's cold out. The goal is to hit the ball in one of the 12 targets. The balls have microchips inside and that's how you're able to keep score. That's easier said than done, if you're a beginner like me. There are different games to play, depending on your experience level. The food and drink menu is great! Everything from mimosas and hot chocolate to margaritas and beer! We grabbed an appetizer and a few lunch items. No complaints whatsoever. My strawberry margaritas were nicely doused with alcohol. I think they made me play better! Lol! There are two levels to choose from to play. We opted for the 3rd level, nice view! COVID regulations are enforced, so you must wear a mask, the bays are separated with plastic, hand sanitizer stations are scattered throughout, the bays/golf clubs are sanitized before new players start and 6ft distances are encouraged. Our server throughout the day was very helpful with the golfing process and other odds and ends. A membership is available if you ever plan to visit after your first visit. My friends and I decided to visit Top Golf instead of chancing going to the golf course and getting caught in a rain storm. Although it didn't end up raining, we still had a great time at Top Golf. There was an easy optional registration process, and the combination of different game options available, as well as drinks and food selections on the menu. So so fun! I didn't know what the hype was all about but so glad I got to try! For those who don't know, the concept of Topgolf is like bowling except with golf. I was impressed at how the golfballs are dispensed and how the system keeps track of your ball and score! You can play individually, play teams, and different games with the different settings, and it is super beginner friendly (aka me). Even on a Thursday night, it was quite busy with almost all the bays full. Luckily my friends and I were able to get a bay almost immediately (despite them initially saying it would take 30 min for one to open up). The menu includes bar food items and drinks. The drinks were all quite delicious and our server was awesome - super friendly and attentive. The table at our bay didn't seem very clean, although the rest of the facilities were. Overall good experience. We came to play on a Saturday. We did not have any reservations and was told that the wait would be at least 45 min for a bay on the second or third floor. The service at this location is terrible. We waited around 2 hours for our bay but were told it would be ready in an hour. I would rather they overestimated the wait time than have to wait longer than I was anticipating. We ate there while we waited for our bay to become available. One of the members of our group ordered coffee the coffee never came. It took them 15 minutes to bring our drinks and they did not take our order until we were there for 30 min. I ordered the turkey wrap it was fine. The fries were cold and hard. The ketchup bottle was empty at our table. They also brought the wrong flatbread to our table and never asked if anyone needed refills of our drinks. We finally got to our bay after getting a text saying it was ready. We went up to the front desk and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks at the bay after we ordered them. The cookie that my sister-in-law ordered didn't get there until the last 10 minutes we were in the bay. When we would wave at the sensor with our club to get a new ball they would not roll straight but roll to the side and off the mat so you had to be chasing after them each time. This location did not have the tracking technology that I have seen that the other locations. It tells you where the ball lands but it does not tell you the speed at which it travels or show the curve the ball takes. I do appreciate that they had a charging station for my EV car. And even if the food experience is bad playing top golf is still very fun regardless of your golfing skill level. read more

This location has been open for a while, yet this visit was my first time....and why??!! We came here on a weekday early afternoon with hubs and the kids for his bday, after breakfast. I would say that coming with your family, it can get quite expensive, so keep an eye out for specials on certain days and via email. They also offer a military discount which is perfect. We arrived and selected the second floor. Everything looked clean and well kept. It was the perfect day and weather to be outdoors and enjoy some family fun. We were greeted by our waitress, who was super attentive (wish I remembered her name). They have a menu with pretty good drink and food options. We got some drinks since we had just eaten. We played for 2 hours, and we all had a lot of fun. They have different golf club options and gaming options, which your server can help you navigate. Walked in Saturday 7/16 and was told there was a 30-45 minute wait - no big deal. We decided to go over to the bar area and have something to eat. Our waiter was Christina C. She took our order, had the personality of a zombie (maybe having a bad day, we can let that slide). Placed an order for a turkey avocado wrap and asked to have the sauce not in the wrap, rather on the side. She says okay. Wrap comes out with the sauce on the inside (now another waiter is with her at our table). We asked to have a new one made and she replies "you don't want this one?" We said no because the sauce was not on the side - hello! She then tells the other waiter "okay, take it off their table and get them their sauce" Waited 30 minutes for the next wrap to come out - it came out with no sauce on it (pretty elementary task for a company I'd think) - however, there was no sauce given on the side at all LOL. Asked to have sauce brought out and she asks another waiter to get it (long blonde haired guy with a hat on and Top Golf work shirt). Waited another 15 minutes and I decided to eat the wrap with no sauce. 30 minutes later, after the wrap had been eaten and the check asked for, Christina brings out the sauce in a to go cup, hands it to me, rolls her eyes as she walks away. Never have I had such terrible service. Never have I left a 0% tip, but I could not justify giving a tip. The kicker here - WHERE is the turkey??? We received a second floor bay and got to playing fairly quickly. They've got clubs for both men and woman and lefty's, if you are one. I'm not a big golfer, so happily spent some time playing, some time watching the hubs, and the remainder drinking because It is always 5pm somewhere, and I had to warm myself up on this cold, windy, rainy mid-morning. White Sangria was tasteless, watered down, and missing more than half the garnishes because even at 10:30am, the kitchen had not finished cutting the garnishes. I didn't try any of the food but my cousin went several days before we did and said the food was ok. As a scratch golfer who has been to 7 top golf locations throughout the last 12 years. I hope I can give a very good review. The Germantown location is a rather large TopGolf location. They do not have TopTracer like national harbor does. However they could and should upgrade it soon. The amount of true golfers in the area would love to use Top tracer. The food is Top Golf food. IMO the menu is great and the prices aren't bad. You are eating through your 50$ an hour bay rental during peak hours though. I will update this locations specific food options soon. As for customer service, I went during the soft opening and felt that they are more than adequately staffed. Hopefully they stay that way before upper management starts to lean or cut staff. Other locations fail when there is not enough staff and you are pretty much paying for time. So far an easy 5 stars! read more

We arrived and waited 20+ minutes while the girls at the front desk tried to check me in. Although I had signed up earlier in the day, they showed that I had 5 different accounts associated with my email. Instead of sorting it out later or just creating a new account so we didn't have to stand there, they were determined to fix the issue which required 2 different managers to step in. At the 25 minute mark, they took us upstairs and placed us at a stall where again, no one was able to log us in. -2 stars While we waited, a group of kids next to us had requested 10 balls at once and on the last swing, had actually fallen and swung the club over into our area where it would have hit someone if they were actually playing. My request to move one stall over was ignored 4 times and was never utilized the entire time we were there. -1 star The food was good and the service was excellent. +2 stars Because of the issues with my account, multiple people played under one user profile. We were not able to keep up with the scores and had to track it separately on our phones. About 45 minutes in, the party of kids next to us left and somehow unplugged our system. The power was shut off completely to our group of TVs. We had to wait well they brought up technicians to reboot our system. The manager extended our game time twice for free because of multiple issues and while I appreciate it, we spent more time waiting for managers to fix problems then we did actually playing. -1 star. In the end, I do not think they figured out what was wrong with my account and when I go to the app, it shows I've been a member since the year 0002. That's right, I've been a member of Topgolf since Jesus was two years old. I have very little faith that any of the issues I initially had were fixed and no one could figure out how to load the $120 in gift cards and game credits that I had purchased online into my account. We visited on a Saturday a little after 12. Other than handing over a credit card for payment, there was no contact and social distancing was fully enforced. We had a great time for my friend's birthday even though I am not a fan of golf. The food was the basic grub you'd get at a bar or a similar dining establishment, but it was good. The one thing I didn't like was the sangria. It was extremely watered down and actually tasted more like beer than wine - a wasted $8/9. I had the Smokehouse Burger without tomatoes which was pretty good but kept sliding off the bun, and all of the tater tots on the top were overly salted, but the rest were fine. My friend ordered the small soft pretzels and they were good as well. Lastly, I like that it's priced by the hour and the facilities were clean. Also, the staff is so polite and very great service each time I have gone! Highly recommend the drinks, but the food is just okay. Personally, I do not think it is worth the money for the food. The parking lot is big and easy to maneuver. However, I highly recommend making a reservation for a golf bay ahead of time. It is always so busy and wait times are long if you do not reserve ahead of time. And by ahead of time I mean at least a week in advance for a weekend night. We absolutely love TopGolf. It's a great family event that we can participate in that is mostly outdoors yet protected from the elements. Each station has a host that caters to your every need. There is a one-time $5 lifetime membership fee and then you pay for your play by the hour. Prices vary depending on time of day and weekday versus weekend. Tuesdays are always half price. They have great food and drink reasonably priced. You can check out YouTube for some explanations of game play if you are unfamiliar. It's kind of like cosmic bowling for golf. We had a lot of fun here. Was our first time, so wasn't sure what to expect. Even if you don't play golf - this is a fun outing for friends, family, work, parties etc. I do play golf, but came here with my teenager, who does not. We both had a lot of fun. I brought my golf bag with me. I won't do that next time. They provide a nice selection of clubs. I'd recommend you bring in your 2 or 3 favorite clubs and use theirs if you want to try others. They also can accommodate left and right handed players, as well as kids (for club selection and length). There are several types of "games" you can play hitting balls out into the field. It's nicely lit up too. You can also stay in a practice type mode, where you can just smack balls out there and aim for whatever you wish. The bays are spacious with tables that sit higher up. You pay for the amount of "time" you are there. We were noobs, so ended up adding time and stayed over 2 hours. We definitely didn't go the budget route this first time, but you can go for an hour or 90 minutes also. There is table service for drinks and food and they have a lot of options to choose from. We tried several food items and I had sangria, which was really good. You become a member when you go (it's like $5). Once you're a member you get special offers for future visits. They also send you a birthday coupon. We'll definitely go again. read more

He was very accommodating and made special birthday arrangements for my friend's birthday celebration and even sang! The bay felt clean and organized which was also important to our group.
