We finally made it to the airport and the car continue to make knocking sounds. I pulled into a gas station to call my insurance company. The wait for a Tow Truck was 3 to 4 hours. I called other tow truck companies but the wait was just as long. So, I thought about JNL Auto. and gave him a call and the first thing he asked me "where are you". He was there within 45 minutes. I was happy to know that someone out their cares about my well-being. I will put my vehicle/s with JNL Mercedes Auto because he cares about the safety of people, especially when they are in need of a Tow Truck. Well I found a gem more like a Diamond Mosses from Protomotive Auto Care responded to my inquiry on yelp and contacted me he quoted a price I took my car in at closing he immediately looked it over BEFORE I left also allowed me to use the new part that I had already purchased and on top of this all my car was ready the next day BEFORE LUNCH. I arrived to pick my car up and received an additional discount on my total auto repair price. Moses have got to have come from God. I contacted 7 Auto Care Shops. LIE #1 9/26 Mon check status will be done by Fri 9/30 LIE#2 9/30 Fri Drive from Santa Barbara take 15frwy. Instead of 5 frwy it's 2.5 hrs longer to pick up shocks, NOT ready they'll be done Sat 10/1. BTW you need Schrader valves it's 25.00 more per shock, or come and pick them up, whatever I've already lost a over a week, take them somewhere else I go to the back of the line again. Authorize the extra 100.00 that's fine 9/30 cancel razor trip to Big Bear LIE#3 10/1 Sat call throughout the day No answer all day 10/4 Tue Send text "how we doing on the shocks?" no answer to text LIE#4 10/7 call Joey says he's working on them all done except one more, and it's just this F**king customers car he has to get done by Sat 10/8 I listen to his rant and rave, without comment. New excuse both front shocks were locked up, Hmmm thought they were all done except the last one.? 10/9 Sun Leave a message I really need my shocks back I Have another trip planned this Friday, and I can't cancel it LIE#6 10/10 Mon call 3 x's again, Call back 230pm come and pick up your F**king shocks, nobody ever rebuilds these anyhow, bring cash only or debit card! I injured my hand working on your shocks on Sat, so it's like my fault! Didn't you have to finish a guys buggy by Sat? LIE#7 10/11 Tue Pick up shocks note, no hand injury, now instead of 140 or 165 per shock it's 220.00 per shock. The spring height is off a bit no biggy he goes to the back shop to get spring compressor you can hear him cursing sh*t, F**king sh*t., Tells me while there he only takes debit or cash as he has to pay 13% for CC transactions.... Yeah just another Lie, tell him he's getting ripped off then as I've never paid more than 3%. I own 2 businesses. Says it's AMEX whatever just another Lie. Originally quoted 560.00. I paid 880.00. Why... I'm done with this guy every phone call was another lie and another delay or they aren't done. LIE#8 1014 Fri 1st ride of the day, note were just trail riding 25-35mph within 10 minutes I see front right shock leaking oil, not weeping but leaking. I text him and yes after almost 3 weeks a cancelled trip and sitting an extra 2.5 hrs with 4 other people on the frwy and paying an extra 320.00 I've lost my patience. Joey's response it's just oil residue! Still drive it trailer home yep at the floor under the front right shock yep puddle of shock oil! And the left front and right rear has oil weeping out of the shocks! Never did that before, so I don't really think he rebuilt them, can't prove it though. Later he tells me he didn't have the tool to do them, no shit, hence the Schrader valves. Bottom line save yourself the mental anguish and the piles of BS, this guy must have some mental issues as in pathological liar as everything and I mean everything is a lie. I'm removing all the shocks and taking them to Shock Therapy. Lesson learned take it to creditable shop.

August 25, 2022 I called and talked to the owner Joey to have EPower Steering installed in my…read morerestored 1960 VW Single Cab. He said they were very busy and quoted a lead time of 6 to 8 weeks out. I made an appointment with Joey to have it installed on 10/18/22. 10/11 I called to have the date pushed out to 10/25 10/25 I dropped off the VW. I discussed with Joey a overheating problem I would have when it was hot out. He told me it was caused by the muffler being directly under the carb on the right. He suggested heat wrapping the muffler as well as the underside of the tins on the right. Made total sense to me and I approved it. 11/3/22 Called Joey for a status and was told he checked the timing and it was jumping 10 degrees all over the place which can be attributed to the heat problem and running bad when hot. He suggested installing a new CB Performance distributor, coil and plug wires for $220. I declined because if the timing was jumping like he said, I would have noticed it. I just want to proceed with the heat wrap and EPower Steering. He told me it would be complete next week which would be 11/7/22. 11/10/22 Called Joey who said he was swamped. Some of the heat wrap is done, still needs to finish that up. He said most of the parts were in for the power steering and he wants to paint some so it all looks great. The steering column is still in the car. Said he would call me tomorrow 11/11 with an update. 11/11/22 After reading Shawn's review I decided to drive to B&R to look at the status. When I arrived I talked to Joey that I wanted to see the progress. He told me nothing had been done. After making an appointment and nothing done after just about 3 weeks, I took the VW back, drove it home and had an Uber take me back to get my car. Shawn was absolutely right, just a bunch of excuses and f-bombs.
