They feature unique housemade flavors, and have vegan and gluten free options. On my most recent visit, I got a kid's scoop of the banana pudding ice cream, which was very tasty. The kid's scoop is tiny but it was perfect for me since I just wanted a small treat. They also have an ice cream flight, which is a fun idea. I liked the interesting drinks for sale in the cooler, including a few I'd never seen before. You can customize your ice cream with all kinds of toppings, or get it in a homemade waffle cone. There is a small seating area in the back or some spots in the front on the sidewalk. I will say that over the past several times I've visited, the service has not been the warmest. I don't love feeling like I'm a bother or not welcomed in to a place that should be as joyful as an ice cream shop.

The dark chocolate shake is super chocolate-forward, thick and delicious. It's really, really chocolately. Also: Why have I lived forty-plus years and never tasted a dark chocolate milkshake? I've had many chocolate milkshakes, and they have been fine. The dark chocolate milkshake at Love's tastes like actual chocolate, though, and it is supremely satisfying. It almost makes me forget that I don't like ice cream! Love's has lots of other ice cream and gelato offerings, including vegan ice cream, plus chocolates and peanut brittle and things like that. This is the place to visit if you're looking for an ice cream treat in Grand Rapids.
