1) Absolutely NO professionalism. There were no other customers there when I walked in for a manipedi, but in the middle of my pedicure, a couple of people started to trickle in. The owner(?) yelled at the lady who was doing my pedi to take care of another customer, so she LEFT ME for a good 20 minutes with my feet just propped up and only half of my toes done. IT JUST DIDN'T MAKE SENSE! 2) She tried to use the same tools she used for the guy before me, so I had to ask her if she could use new ones. 3) Another customer accidentally dropped a nail polish and it went all over the owner's pants. The owner got really irritated and made that girl sit while she yelled for someone to bring her acetone. She kept complaining loudly that it wouldn't come off and how she really liked her pants all while pointing her finger at that girl. It just didn't seem very professional of her to do that and made the whole atmosphere very uncomfortable. 4) Here is the picture I showed the lady of the color and design I wanted without the acrylic. And the 2nd picture is this is how my nails actually turned out. I asked her many times in the beginning if she would be able to do that design and she said "yes". But when I asked her again near the end she said,"Of course....if I can find the tape..". Then she had the audacity to say "Looks just like your picture!!" when she was done. So I was a walk in client here because I needed my nails done before the new year. I called and made an appointment. I got a guy (not sure his name). The whole time he kept filing my skin and when I pulled my hand away he kept giving me dirty looks. He didn't even clean my nails before putting the dip powder on. All he did was filed. I do hair for a living so my nails tend to be stained from hair dye. I never have a problem where I normally go, but this time you can still see the black from my nails under the polish. Decided to try it out, owner was a little nasty but I got over it. $35 for French gel manicure. Next day the polish started to crack, and a few days later the gel started to peel. Went back to the place and was told that I needed a new manicure and said it will be $35 again. I've gotten gel manicures at other places where there was no cracking or peeling of the nail polish. This is by far the worst nail salon I've ever been to!! My friend and I went in for a pedi and a full acrylic set and when we got there they made us sit down before picking out a color which I thought was strange. As I'm sitting at the desk my nail tech starts filing my nails and making fun of how short they are. I blew it off and then I asked her if I can pick a color and she says something (very fast I might add) about gel color. So I said, no I am not getting gel I am getting an acrylic set and she's pushes the gel some more and insisted that it was for the acrylic (which the sign said was $27) and I just went with it and stated that as long as it's still 27 I'll do it. Again in a very fast and this time soft voice she said no it will be 37. I was outraged!!! She would have done all of it and I would have been paying that. So that was over with, I told her I didn't want to do the gel and she was actually mad. Next I told her that I wanted an oval shape and they actually told me that the price would be $30 instead of $27 just to file them as oval. Are you freaking kidding me?? I argued with them and they eventually gave in and told me they would just do it. The woman who I argued with then refused to do my nails so they placed me with another guy and again he made fun of how short my nails were. My nails did not come out even and they are not even oval...I don't even know what shape they are. As my friend and I are finally now sitting down to dry our nails we noticed their stand up sign that was outside. It was double sided! On the side that we saw was facing out their full set acrylic price was $27 and the side that was facing in said the price was $25. They flip it to be more expensive on the weekends. They also charge a $1 fee for credit card charges also. It's just crazy how expensive this all was and the quality of their work is dog shit. I will not lie I like this nail salon a lot depending on who is available to help me. I am a frequent customer and I find that by me going in there multiple times I am able to know who does good nails and who does bad nails. For the most part everyone there does good nails besides maybe two or three people. Last time I got my nails there was by a Vietnamese lady who i would not recommend going back to her. read more

I will honestly never go back. I went in for a manicure and was sat down right away. Great. Well the woman who was doing my nails was awful! My nails are short but the aren't super long either. She struggled to file them and used 3 different nail files. My nails had already been shaped so there shouldn't have been much to file. I finally told her they looked fine. Apparently they don't use cuticle oil they use alcohol. Never in my life have I had that happen. Then she started to use HER NAILS TO PUSH MY CUTICLES! I had to tell her 3 times to NOT do that and that it's completely unsanitary. I was just about to walk out I was so mad. She started to pain my nails and got nail polish all over my fingers and did a horrible job cleaning it up. At that point I just wanted to get out of there. There is NOTHING top ten about this place. I usually don't do mall nail salons or the various pop up salons that seem to show up one day, disappear the next. However, while in New York, I needed to get my nails done. Like, NEEDED. They were a hot mess as I had to go to New York from Florida quite unexpectedly. This particular shop, located in the Smithhaven Mall was very clean. As most of these salons, they told me they would take me in 10 minutes, and they did. There are a few things I look for when getting my nails done in other places than my own personal salon in Florida. I watch that they use different nail files for each client. I make sure that they have an autoclave for sterilization of their instruments that they actually USE, not one that is sitting there for show. I watch that they use face masks while doing manicures and gloves while doing pedicures. I also watch closely that salons do not use the same instruments on the next customer, but rather, take a fresh set of tools from the autoclave. Why do I do all of this? Because, as a surgical nurse, I have had the extreme displeasure of having to remove women's fingers and/or toes due to severe osteomyeltis, a disease where the bone "gets sick" and infected and can't be treated with antibiotics. How do most of these infections start? In dirty nail salons with unsanitary practices. This salon, in my 10 minutes of observation, met all that criteria. The tech who did my nails was very nice. He literally got me out of there in one hour after doing a set of acrylic fills and gel polish. The only thing that I might want to add here is that you cannot tip the techs on your credit card. You need to tip them in cash, which makes for an uncomfortable situation when you don't carry cash on you. However, there is an ATM not that far from the salon where you can pull a little cash out in order to tip your tech. The prices are fair ($28 for a fill with gel polish is more than reasonable!). I wouldn't hesitate to go get my nails done there again. The reason I am not giving them the 5th star is because of the mall location. It is crowded, annoying, loud and when I get my nails done, I prefer a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. read more

I got my nails done there once. I was getting a gel french manicure and when i got to the salon the only person that was available was some guy. I don't know if other works are the same or not. He did my nails and the end product didn't look nice at all. He could hardly draw the white tips and he didn't cover some of the corners. They ruined my nails with that electric grinder when scraping off a tiny amount of residual gel polish from previous manicure. Nails should be soaked, not grinded. She thinned them and they actually feel sensitive and have broken. They did this to make it easier for them without regard to my nail health. Also tried to push a gel manicure which I did not want. This place is a circus. Rude technicians who are rough to the point of painful and the job done is awful. nails are crooked and messy and it is obvious when you are told to tip before the job is even done that something is up, either the work is not going to be up to standard or they are going to base the work off of the tip. Throughout the hour in the salon I witnessed at least three people in addition to myself openly unhappy about their nails- one woman even had to come back the next day demanding that the job be fixed for a discount. The most horrible service I ever had. I came in to the salon 30 minutes to closing time and it was only 3 technicians working. Two of them were working on one customer. So I waited my turn to get my one nail fixed. Once i sat down in the chair she began to poke at my broken nail and of course I jumped because it was still sore. She said "I can't work on your nail" so by that time I've already been waiting to get it fixed and that really pissed me off. She began to go back and forth with me arguing that I'm in too much pain to have it fixed.. I couldn't believe that she had the nerve to tell me how much pain I was in. I obviously wouldn't be trying to get it fixed if it was that bad. After a few minutes of going back and forth, she started to work on my nail. Once I asked if they had the color on my nails she began with her attitude. I tried explaining that it takes 2 nail polish coats because that's how they got the color. She said "you can go back to your salon to fix it". At that point I just wanted her to be done with my nail because i clearly came to the wrong salon. I was looking to get my eyelashes dyed, which I have had done several times before. I was unable to get into my usual place, and noticed this place at the mall did it. Many places don't offer eyelash tinting, so I was excited to try them out. It was a very short wait and soon I was in the waxing room. I tell the girl I wanted an eyelash tint and the color I always get (black brown- very popular). She didn't have it, so we agreed on medium brown. She gets to work. Immediately, something felt different, and I realized she was putting fake eyelashes on me, This is not what I wanted at all! I told her that, and she continued. At that point, I figured I'd go with it and try it out as I had never had them before. All said and done, the eyelashes are long and dark- but I think they look horrible on me, and not even a few hours later, they are starting to peel off too. So upset with this place called Top Ten Nails! It was my first time getting my eyelashes extensions. I was told that my eyelashes were going to look natural and will last for a month. Unfortunately, the first night when I went to sleep and closed my eyes, I felt so uncomfortable, because it felt like I have rocks under my eyelids. I wouldn't even give this place a star if I didn't have to. ITS AWFUL. The owner is so rude and nasty. She said she would be with me in 5 min every 5 mins. When I tried to leave she basically chased me through the mall trying to get me to come back. When I was seated she would hit me every time she wanted me to move my hand closer. I was then given to another lady who literally cut my finger open by filing. She then continued to pour some kind of liquid on my open cut to stop the bleeding. It turned my blood brown and burned. She talked the entire time and kept stopping to watch a Chinese video on her phone which was completely irritating and the opposite of relaxing. Finally at the end, my sister was told her manicure was 35 when it was suppose to be 30. When we questioned the charge no one could tell us why. When the man came out who did her nails he said it was because she got a round shape..... first my sister was never asked nor did she want a round shape. Second it isn't even displayed on their price chart or anywhere in the store that the shape costs extra. In addition if she was getting a shape that costs extra she should have been notified. Was at the mall shopping earlier and decided to stop in for a mani/pedi, nothing fancy just the basics. Not my usual go-to place but thought it couldn't be bad right? Wrong! I was hardly greeted as I walked in and after asking me several times what I wanted I was instructed to sit down and then to pick a color and then to sit down somewhere else and told "5 minutes, 5 minutes" So ... fast forward about 30 minutes later I was instructed to move to a different station and pick a color - I politely showed the woman the color I had chosen and she responded with "ok 5 minutes" I waited patiently for another 15 minutes or so then when I asked nicely if it would be much longer because I had somewhere I needed to be the woman stopped in the middle of another customers pedicure and ran over and began to remove my polish and asked me again what I wanted and to pick a color. Again I responded, a manicure and pedicure and showed her the color. She literally told me "no, we don't have in gel, you want gel right?" At this point I was beginning to wonder if I should just go so I said one last time "I just want a manicure and pedicure with this color" I was told "no pick another color" After that I very nicely said, "it's ok, never mind, I actually need to leave" The woman literally held my hand down and told me "no you pick a color" Luckily I was able to get out of there - seriously ! Overall the complete opposite of my expectations - a semi-relaxing mani/pedi, again, nothing fancy, just the basics - turned into a drill down of questions and commands - very abrasive, confusing, and unprofessional. read more

Worst Salon ever. Went there to get a blue gel color and in less than two days the whole thing turned brown and chipped. My friend went there to get her nails done and when she got there she was told by the technician that the mani and pedi would be 35, the bill ended up being over double the price and on top they did a terrible job with her nails. The french manicure she wanted was done very fast and sloppy. The technician completely missed the edges of the nails and it was very bulky because of the mistakes she made that she tried covering up. I told them to redo the whole thing and they did because money back was not an option even after they took everything off. While she took off her color she scraped the whole polish off with the filer. she seemed very angry that she had to redo the whole thing because she made my friend bleed. Didn't even bother cleaning it she just painted over the blood! Even after she was done she didn't apologize and it looked worse than before but a refund was not an option.
