I have recently found a gift card for $50. I went there today after making an appointment yesterday. They would not honor the card saying it was purchased awhile ago. They are new owners ( name is the same). I called just now because everyone I have spoken to said that legally it should have an expiration date on it, and it clearly DOES NOT. They proceeded to hang up on me. I will not ever go there again and the girl that gave it to me is out of her hard earned money. I hate being this person but I have to be today. In all honestly after the way I was treated about 2 weeks ago I will NEVER be back. I had made two appointments for my mom and I so off we went. At first neither one of us were acknowledged until one of them pointed to us to sit in the pedicure chairs. So off we go to sit down. My mom gets taken after approximately 5 minutes of waiting but me? Nope. Nobody even says anything to me like "sorry we'll be right with you." or "just a few more minutes..." nothing. The gentleman who was doing my mom's pedicure goes to plug my drain after waiting about 25 minutes and I said "no thanks I changed my mind." Then another couple minutes pass and another worker comes over and grabs her tools to start working on my feet. Mind you I had my flip flops back on and my leggings unrolled. I again say "no thanks I changed my mind." She looks at me all puzzled. I said "not for nothing but I'm not going to make my mom sit here after she just got hers to wait for me..." I also mentioned how rude it was to not even let us know they weren't able to do both pedicures within a reasonable time. She then says "we'll I'll change your polish." I started to laugh because I was that irritated by the situation and I said to her "what?! I don't even have polish on my toes... so no you're not doing anything to my feet." The fact that there was no real apology here or any sort of acknowledgment that they screwed up has me still really bothered. I would also like to add that they were hardly busy. Second time returning was different and more enjoyable. I called and set up an appointment for two pedicures at 6 PM on a Monday and they weren't crowded at all and were able to help me and my friend out right away which was pleasant. The interior is nice and the employees seem nice I just wish we could understand each other better to be honest with you. Not my go to nail place but I do go to here every so often. read more

Waste of time and $$ I got my nails done Wednesday night and woke up Thursday morning with nail polish missing on 4 nails. I don't have the luxury of going back to get it fixed so don't even suggest. Had an appointment today for a pedicure with Peggy always on time pleasant and does a great job. I have never been disappointed with the service and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Today I had mentioned I had gotten my nails done yesterday with Builder Gel (3rd time) at a different nail salon, and they were lifting on quite a few nail's and I wasn't happy and asked if I could have them removed while I was there. I was accommodated with an appointment later in the day and Peggy was again on point. Carefully removed the built up product and gave me a beautiful manicure. If you do not pay your tip in cash they are extremely rude and agitated. when I Apologetically offered a tip on my credit card to the women who did my nails (someone else did my toes) there was visible annoyance on her face. Neither one of the employees said thank you after the woman removed cash from the register to give her and her coworker a cash tip that was ultimately from me. Then, I was picking a color and apparently taking too long, the nail tech that was going to do my nails hovered over me the entire time I was choosing a color - was I being rushed? They don't close until 7pm. Anyway, when I sat down in the chair she asked me what type of pedicure I'd like and I asked for the regular nothing extra. This didn't seem to please her, the nail tech then proceeded to comment on how I needed some other add ons... I didn't ask what she thought. Not to sound like an a-hole but honestly if I tell you what I want and you try to upsell me in a rude manner... we were already off to a rough start. Long story short - the pedicure was a lazy effort at best. I was asked halfway through if I wanted a ten minute massage (no thanks). When my toes were drying I was asked again if I wanted a ten minute massage. Finally, I asked for change of a $20 and I get back a $10 and two $5 bills. That's pretty presumptuous. So today I went to this salon for the second time to get a gel fill in and change of polish color. The first time I came here I got the same thing and a pedicure. The pedicure was horrible and chipped the second day. When they filled my nails in they didn't bring it all the way down to the cuticle so it looked like it had been a few days since I got it down. I decided to go in today to try it one more time. And AGAIN my nails look like shit. I asked for a coffin shape and I didn't get that. She filled in my nails yet it looks like I still need them done. On top of everything she cut my middle finger with the file. Since it was bleeding I asked her if I could wash it because it was stinging but instead she decided to put NAIL GLUE inside the cut to try to close the wound which didn't help. I wish I could give zero stars but since I can't allow me to tell you why I hate this salon. First, let me preface by saying the girls do ok nails. Nothing special but they're OK at it. Zero stars are for their customer service. The workers there expect NO LESS than 20 or 30 percent as a tip. If you give any less, say for perhaps snotty service, they will literally ask you for more tip money. I actually heard them say to a woman "is this all?! No more tip??" they pretend they don't speak English until it comes to people who are tipping them. It's amazing that with a nail salon on every corner they can act like this. The room where they did it was dirty and should of ran but didn't. when after I had everything done and charged my card not even a second later before giving my card back the lady asked for a tip I was going to charge the tip to my card with it since I didn't have cash on me. The lady didn't even bother to ask me before she charges me and when the owner of the place came up she started to lecture me on how that I should of had a cash tip. Had the worst experience here. The owner is so rude, literally screamed at me 4 times to the point where I was about to get up and walk out. I told him that he was rude and he said " I'm the owner you can complain all you want." I then asked another girl to do my nails because I couldn't take it anymore and he wouldn't let her. So first off- I didn't check in here the day I went last week because the shop is in a dead zone for wifi and the salon does not offer wifi for guests. I love the decor in here, its so fun and girly and fresh looking, very artistic. Best decor I have seen in a nail salon. A major reason that they lose stars as follows: - The pedicure chairs are unlike any I have seen before. They look like basic cushy living room chairs however, when you sit in them its like sitting on a brick. it is hard and flat and the way the chair is shaped offers no support even with the pillow they supply for your back. I was SO disappointed about this because getting a pedicure is relax time and not only was I unable to relax I was actually sore when I was done. The entire time I was struggling to not let my butt go to sleep and to keep my feet and legs in place for the pedicure. Its horrible. really. Im sad about this. 2. They charge 28 for a basic mani pedi on thurs- Sunday peak days. Normal places charge 20 mon-wed and 25 thur-sun...some even less. I had to pay 28 with these bad pedi chairs so basically I am paying extra to view of pretty decor while sitting in pain the whole time and that was so bad. 3. They don't seem to give complementary massage while drying which is customary to be given a 3 minute neck rub in any place you go if you accept it. It is that feature that keeps me loyal. I did see a few others get rubbed but not all so that lead me to believe they were paying for theirs. I really needed it after the seating problem. 4. I see very little sterilization equipment although it was immaculate looking in there, fungus is not a visible thing and I am praying I don't get any because she used clearly pre-used items on me and it was too late when I noticed. So far so good but just thought I should mention it. Its sad because I cant return to this place on these negatives. I was hurting the whole time and I left stiff despite the fact they were so sweet and polite and the nails looked fabulous. A few tweaks to this place and I would have been blown away and would not give a crap what they charge. Even the music was better than usual places that play really annoying repetitive Chinese elevator music...this place was playing current music so the atmosphere was great. I gave three stars based on the friendliness, atmosphere and quality of work on my nails. all good. Without it They would get one star. The rest, killed it. Try at your own risk but do not go if relax is the goal, its way too uncomfortable unless your 19 and your ass is brand new. Parking is plentiful no problem there. read more

If I'm paying $45 for a pedicure, I should get a massage that lasts more than 5 minutes (i timed it). They wanted to charge me another $12 for a 10 minute massage - why would I pay more for a massage when the 5 minutes I did get were awful?! Another tech decided to start my manicure while getting my pedicure, and by start I mean she literally pulled my arm over my body to reach start filing my nails. Mind you, it was 5:30, they close at 7 and there were 2 other people there.... why am I being rushed? Why can't i enjoy the subpar pedicure I'm getting? I also asked for a very simple design and two of the techs tried and it was awful, so i just left. I'll never go back here. $100 later and I could have just done my nails myself. read more

The shop looks bright and clean, and the decor looks posh so you decide to stop and pop your head in to check out their prices and the variety of services they offer. Before jotting back out, trying not to be confronted, did you pause to gaze at the racks of polish to see whether they have the newest OPI colors? You begin to reassure yourself: It isn't cheating on your old salon if the nail tech knew your "relationship" wasn't exclusive! Guess What Girl? You're a Serial Nailophile Too! If, like me, YOU HAVEN'T FOUND YOUR NAIL NIRVANA... You should definitely give Essential Nail Spa a try: - We didn't have to have an appointment even though there were 4 of us needing services which is great since my schedule usually demands I do everything on the fly! - The client at the next nail station was getting Sculpted Gel Nail Extensions which always seems labor intensive and easy to flub up but her nails looked great and seemed to only take as much time to create as my acrylics. - Since I am rough on my nails I don't have much luck with Gel so I've gone back to getting Old School Tips with Acrylic. Unfortunately, at some salons, this means my nails end up way too thick and looking like I could pound meat with them but, at Essential Nails, my nails came out thin and natural looking. - During our pedicures/nail service the salon became increasing and busy. Usually this means that the nail techs start rushing through your appointment to try to get started on the waiting customers but not at Essential Nails. Even though the staff were courteous and conscious of the waiting clients they still did a meticulous job and I never felt like we were being hurried out. read more

1 star is too much for this place. I went for the first time today and it is safe to say that I will not be returning. The woman who did my nails was extremely rude. Since I have a foreign debit card it got declined and I had to call a family member to come and pay for me and I was treated like a criminal. The nail tech did a bad job on purpose and got nail polish on my fingers that I had to clean off when I got home. She proceeded to stand over me while my nails dried while I was waiting for a family member to arrive and didn't even thank us when we paid. She looked down at the tip like it wasn't enough when in actual fact it was too much for her due to her attitude problem.
