I followed their advice. It's been nearly a year and we have had no further rat incidents to date (crossing my fingers that this remains the case). I called up three local rodent busting companies, two of them came for inspection the next day. Although Gottem was not lowest priced, I selected Gottem and Ricky in the end after his initial inspection as I was convinced by his experience, know-how, action plan and post-completion warranty. Ricky and his technician Jat arrived punctually the next day. Jat climbed into my tight crawl space to fix broken metal mesh connected to outside vent. He also used the foam to fill the gaps around the pipes that connect to upstairs. Ricky was quick to ascertain how mice got to the 2nd floor kitchen. He noticed gaps around the water pipe that comes into the kitchen under the main sink. After knowing how mice came to the kitchen from outside, he set a mouse trap and placed a few sticky pads along rodents' path. Ricky also placed a few mouse traps around the kitchen. He taught us how to use different positioning to "confuse" mice so that they will be more likely to be tricked to the traps. Ricky's strategy and planning WORKED perfectly with immediate result. (1) The mouse trap under the sink cut a mouse by half overnight! (2) Another mouse was caught dead by the trap under the stove. After a week, Ricky came by/assessed the result and reset/reallocated the traps in the kitchen. The kitchen has returned peace as usual. Another week has gone by without an incident. Ricky blocked the entrance gap under the kitchen sink to mark the end of this project.
