I walked in on the fourth day which was today on a Tuesday asked them to fix my nails and they made me wait 10 minutes two fix two nails. As I finally got to sit down they gave an attitude towards me because I asked them to fix my second nail that was chipped. I paid them good on Friday and I always tip and they shouldn't have made me feel this way, guilty. I am not going to feel guilty for the job that was done poorly to my nails. I am a paying customer that should have been treated with respect and quality service. I love my nails now but the service isn't nice they don't tell you their name or ask customers how their day went... So I'm conclusion I would go back if they haven't given me an attitude and my nails wouldn't chip on the third day. Plus prices aren't that bad but they charge extra for some things that other places don't charge..

The pedi: basic...she used a file to remove rough areas...my biggest problem is rough heels and sides of my feet so I asked if she can spend some.more time on those areas. She didn't seem happy with my request...said she already did it and it would get too thin. Okay...fine...ur the boss... It's a very quick pedi...no hot cloth, no scrubbing just a massage..quick polish and done...not a single smile on this lady Then the mani, this was a little better than the pedi...she was a lot more meticulous with the cuticles and shape but it was an unpleasant experience...the technician who I never got a name never smiles (an older chubby middle aged lady), never speaks to u even when I tried to initiate conversations it was 1 word replies so we sat in awkward silence. The nails were okay but for a shellac mani she didn't even use a base coat...once again...no hand scrub or massage just applied cream then a hot towel. Then here's the kicker....I initially had intentions of switching my regular nail place bc this is closer so when I came in I had asked if they did packages like 4 treatments for 100 or something...she's like if u come back we can do 5 dollars off each I'm like oh okay...at the end of the treatment she asked if I was interested I told her no in gonna see how this goes first...she seemed upset..told me its 58 dollars bc they had to remove shellac (my other place doesn't charge), then asked if cash or debit ...I said debit then she put it through and then told me she charges tax with debit..so I said okay fine I have some cash I can do that..she's like I already punched it in....so I'm like that's fine...so I paid 65 dollars for a shitty experience...she tries to give me some card at the end..I just said no thanks u can keep that.

Then we got seated and my mom asked a question about shellac and the women just kept smiling at her not answering. Thinking it might've been a language barrier I asked the gentleman doing my nails and then the lady started to argue with my mom about shellac. (my mom had a reaction to shellac on her fingers and was asking about doing just a gel top coat on her toes). After that the two employees were speaking to each other only and staring at me and it made me uncomfortable. The lady finished my mom's pedicure abruptly (no massage, the jets weren't on in the soaker foot tub, rushed treatment) and moved her to the drying table. My pedicure lasted another 15-20 minutes with hot stones and massage. They very things I knew my mom would love and why I took her here. It was very strange. There was no music playing which is a small detail but when you've had awkwardness already the silence made it even more uncomfortable. Unfortunately I won't be back.

So I was in dire need to get a mani & pedi yesterday. I did some research on Yelp and located two salons. I walked into both and none of them can take me in cause they were fully booked. Given that I didn't make an appointment, I understand and left with disappointment. On my way home, I decided to pop into this plaza near Vaughan Mill Mall to try my luck with a random nail salon. That is where I spotted Serena Nails & Hair Care. The owner, Serena, greeted me as I walked in. I inquire about a shellac mani and regular pedi and she explained that its $50, but because I had gel nail on, it would be an extra $5. Sounds fair enough to me. I asked if I can get it done now. The salon was full but she somehow squeezed me in immediately. I had one person, believed his name was Minh, worked on my pedi right away. He was very gentle and took the time to beautify my raunchy feet. When it comes to painting my nails, I was not satisfied with the original colour that I selected and he helped me chose one that I was completely satisfied with. Then I have Jenny who worked on my mani. She was very patient when it comes to removing my stubborn gel nail and ensure that I was ok the whole time. She noticed the colour I selected for my toes and informed me that there is the exact same colour in shellec if I am interested to do the same for my fingernails. Of course I went for it. I didn't need to say or show her any photos of how I want my nails. I just simply said I want the "almond" shape and she got it right away! Oh did I mentioned that they offer one complimentary drink?? The owner Serena offered Vietnamese coffee to me and it was delicious! When she learned that I had to leave soon, she put the drink in a to go cup for me. Very attentive! Being in the service industry, I really value good service and this experience really blew me away!
