I originally hired another company (with good ratings) that ended up costing more, being less available, and provided less effective solutions. I had an amazing experience today with One Hour Pest Control! Early this morning, I saw FOUR…read moreroaches in my apartment and complete chaos ensued-- I turned my entire room upside down as I chased one of the roaches with a flip-flop, I doused myself in citrus oil in order to fend them off, and I formed a protective circle around my bed out of Pine Sol-- I am absolutely terrified of roaches, so I was getting QUITE desperate. I called One Hour Pest Control at 8AM, and Mike promptly answered-- he was extremely helpful and accommodating, and said he would have a technician sent my way from 1PM-2PM the exact same day (managing to fit me in on a Sunday, no less). The exterminator, Frank, was awesome-- he was super professional and timely, showing up exactly at 1PM. He did a really thorough job, putting down several traps, applying gel inside all cabinets, and spraying literally every single crevice in the apartment (and he moved all of my things around too just to make sure he was getting the hard-to-reach spots, which I really appreciated because my apartment was a complete mess after the face-off with the roaches this morning). He also had a great attitude and brought a much-needed touch of humor to what was a fairly distressing situation for me, and he was so helpful in addressing all of my questions and concerns! I hope that the roaches will be gone, and that I hopefully won't *need* to call in an exterminator again anytime soon-- but if I do, I will DEFINITELY be contacting Mike and Frank for their services in the future! Could not recommend enough!

" no guaranteed" when asked about warranty; " do you ask that question for everyone? not interested, do not call again" when asked if he was the owner of the business. I was confused how a question like that would upset someone to hang up on a prospect customer. Was it too weird and rude to ask? I would love to support our neighborhood small businesses. I called afterwards a different small company and was treated respectfully, had questions addressed patiently. We made an appointment for today and I have confidence in the service with their positive attitude. So make certain to ask smart questions if you decide to call One Hour Pest and hope it was just an isolated incident I had with Frank.

We moved into a building with a massive roach problem, and no one in our building was singing up…read morefor monthly treatment, and we were the first due to a sighting we'd had about 6 months ago. When NYC Pest Control came by, they sent their best team!! Xavier is probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He fully educated us on which bugs were most likely to see and where and how to prevent them in between treatment, but most importantly, we noticed during the months we had our apartment treated we had no issues at all whatsoever--even if we left food out or if our bathrooms had moisture, we saw NOTHING. Any month we missed the treatment like if we weren't home when they cane by, we knew it was possible run into a single roach before the next treatment due to the issue on our block. We've only encountered 3 single roaches in a 6 month period and that's once when we moved in and it was not being treated and once after missing nearly 2 months of extermination. Although our super hasn't opted to treat the issue on a building level and leaves it up to apartments, Xavier mentioned having everyone in the building opt to have their unit treated would help our issue. Right now we're working to get our whole building involved because just by treating our unit alone we've seen a massive difference!! I know after Xavier visits, it's guaranteed we won't encounter a single bug. He knows what he's doing!! Bottom line is I have so much confidence in this pest control service based on firsthand experience. These regular treatments have made it possible to live on a highly infested block without having a major issue in our apartment. Xavier is so personable, knowledgeable and diligent. He always gives an update, sets traps around the apartment as a precaution and spends considerable time spraying at risk areas. Super reliable! I'd hire them independently if our building didn't take care of it. Thanks guys!!
