Hello friends, welcome to Long Island on the first day of reopening following the covid shut down…read more I had no doubt as to which amenity I would choose on the first day back. No, it's not Lobster on the outdoor patio at Peter's.. not quite yet. I need a HAIRCUT or rather I needed them all cut I needed a haircut really bad. After 3 months of pandemic panic, my hair had not been this long since I went to the Dead shows back in the days of my hippie youth. Arriving at Long Beach, I saw a big beautiful sign by the road it said barber shop OPEN! I had heard of unavailable appointments for weeks and long lines of customers waiting. I was lucky, only 2 people in front of me. I thought I was going to get cut by a clipper tied onto a 6-foot pole. Just kidding. I was served quickly and with a smile, my barber wore a mask and quickly and expertly made a big pile of hair on the floor. A few sprays of the aftershave, and it was done I left the barbershop 5 lb lighter. It was interesting to feel the sun on the back of my neck for the first time in months. The pricing on the haircut was $25 and I threw him a 20 tip. Which I felt was appropriate. I am so happy with my clean sharp haircut and feel much better. This wonderful Oceanview Barber shop in Long Beach is very much recommended and covid-19 safe. See you soon.

I last took my daughter to get her hair cut and permanently colored a bright red in Oct 2023. $380 later she ended up with: 1) A layer of her long thick hair was CUT BACK UNDERNEATH all the way to her scalp. We 100% did not ask for this thinning, or whatever was being attempted. It's ridiculous when she tries to wear her hair up. (see photo attached with 11 months of growth) 2) The red dye lasted maybe 3 weeks, even while using the shampoos and conditioners for red hair. It was supposed to be a permanent dye that was applied after the hair was lightened but apparently was not. I also had my hair cut here three times. Overall, meh. It's way too expensive for what they are providing, and the younger stylists seem not to want to be bothered with women over 50.

It was a long hairstyle and I had been growing my hair out for just over a year and a half. The man said he could do it and began cutting all my hair off. I can't believe I paid for this haircut, a monkey with kids scissors could have done a better job.
