Instructors are great. The whole process for trying to sign up for behind the wheel appointments is impossible. It's not worth the headache. Go to Excel. They have a much better system for getting their drivers in. read more

Well it's Springtime again, flowers are blooming and children are playing on their driveways and on the street of an oval shaped residential development, ie "Cedar Brook" . There is very light traffic as you might expect from the equivalent of a residential cul-de-sac. On numerous occasions "TOP DRIVER" has used the "Cedar Brook" residential development as a convenient place to conduct driving lessons with inexperienced student drivers despite the obvious risk to young children playing adjacent to and often in the street. This driver instruction company is showing a flagrant disregard for the safety of young children. read more

I am a frustrated parent. This is a terrible school. The class room instruction would better provided on line.. Scheduling a drive a COMPLETE joke.. DO NOT SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR THIS SCHOOL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. read more

Getting a hold of anyone is nearly impossible, and trying to schedule appointments for children going to school? Forget about it. They conveniently leave out the fact that after you pay for the service, your child will be lucky to get one or two drives a month. It's beyond frustrating, The lack of communication and scheduling availability is unacceptable. I would not recommend this service to anyone who values their time or money. Basically said it would be over 3 months to drive the needed 6 hours. read more

I give this company a one. The in person lesson portion went well. As soon as it came time to schedule in car lessons, forget about it. I was diligent about looking at least every other day to see if something opened up. I got so frustrated that I called Top Driver and asked the woman who answered, how is my son supposed to finish this course in 9 months when I cannot find a location that has any open drives. She said I just have to keep looking. If he doesn't complete his drives within 9 months, Top Driver will charge me $160.00. I am at the point where I have to look elsewhere for him to complete his driver training or just have him wait until he is 18 to get his license. I would NEVER recommend this driving school to anyone! Please look elsewhere. read more

Wish I could give it 0 stars...... My daughter woke up in the middle of the night throwing up. She continued through the entire night. She had a lesson at 10am. I called (no answer), so I sent an email. They want a doctor's note or I will be charged $75! I wish I would have sent her in the car puking tbh. Who the heck takes a kid with no fever who is just throwing up to the doctor? They said I needed in within 4 days, too!!!! Doctor not open Saturday or Sunday, and has limited hours on Mondays.... this is absolutely ridiculous! read more

Highly recommend! Friendly and knowledgeable instructors! Very convenient pick up and drop off options too!

Had a great experience sending my teenager to Top Driver's Specialized program. It was well run and very organized with great communication from Brendon and Jeff. The instructor, Jeff, was patient and kind and was able to give 1:1 instruction behind the wheel. I highly recommend this program for kids with ADHD. read more

We are very disappointed In Top Driver. The behind-the-wheels are impossible to schedule. They cancelled twice on us this summer. If you do not complete by the 9 month deadline, you can pay $150 for a 4 month extension. We now are paying this ridiculous fee so she can get her final 3 appointments which are impossible to schedule, due to no available spots. The previous company, A Orland, did not have these rules. My other kids took their behind the wheel sessions right before they got there license. No ridiculous fees. My last kid, so we're just dealing with it. But wanted to warn others before enrolling in a driving school read more

The instructors are incredible. Unfortunately, their customer service and scheduling behind the wheel is a disaster. I have twins and have been trying to schedule their behind the wheels lessons for the last 6 months. I have never been able to schedule these lessons with their online scheduling system since all of the appointments are always booked. I finally called and spoke with customer service and was told the December appointments release date was today at noon. I logged on before noon to find all of the dates "red" meaning all appointments booked. I then called customer service again and dealt with an extremely rude woman who kept blaming me for waiting so long to schedule even after I told her I have been trying to schedule for months. She then told me students are limited to 2 lessons per month so I would need to pay $150 per child to extend since we will go over the 9 month timeframe that top driver has allotted to complete the behind the wheels lessons. I paid $750 per child to deal with this. Maybe stop accepting students if you do not have enough driving instructors to complete the behind the wheels lessons. read more

We chose Top Driver in Homer Glen for some convenience as it is close to our home. What we found out was the instructors were great with the kids and as flexible as could be. We had a great experience and our son became a very good driver with their instruction. We found it easy to book driving time for all six drives and ride alongs. I'd highly recommend this location. read more

Today we sit here and reminisce on the wonderful time we had here at Top Driver. I am severely concerned for Jeff as his back must hurt from carrying the weight of this class. He was truly a god tier teacher. read more

I feel very taken advantage of. They say it's a state requirement to complete the course within 9 months. This includes the driving portion. I can't find this "requirement" online anywhere either in top driver website or Illinois DMV website. So When I went to sign up for driving sessions I was told it was too close to the 9 months and would have to pay an additional $150. I delayed because I wanted to wait until my son was out of school. They don't send you any reminders or warnings that this fee would occur. And I can't find anywhere on the website that discusses this 9 month minimum or the $150 fee. And when I asked them what the fee was used for they just kept saying it would allow me to schedule the remaining sessions. But they didn't tell me if it went to the state or top driver. Now I feel I don't have any choice but to pay or they won't give my son any credit for the class. And this class is already the highest price I found to begin with. You can find a better value. read more

I would never recommend this company for behind the wheel. There is no set schedule, they charged me close to 500$ for 10 one hour sessions where they tell you they will pick up your child. However, their scheduling is so ridiculous it has taken months for her to complete 7 lessons, you have to wait and pray they open up more lessons. She is down to her last 3 lessons, you would think they should have open slots available, right? Nope, maybe in Jan!!! It's October.. So.... if you don't mind waiting 6 months for your child to complete 10, one hour lessons, this is the place for you! Since we are moving out of state in 7 weeks, I now have to take her to a horrible location, drive her there and back - no longer is she being picked up as promised when I paid. Basically, you call - they take your money - you call back over and over and over praying there are lessons available for your child. Never again!!!! read more
