Child states classes were incredibly boring (instructor was lazy and rolled around in his chair, while teaching) and videos were "out of touch". It did not captivate my child's attention nor did it pique any interest in learning. We enrolled our child in this class for drivers education. He turned 16 in late spring. Classroom is sufficient but the students state "an old fat man that never stands up but rolls around on his office chair". Incredibly boring and monotone. Part of the class includes a "behind the wheel" driving with the instructor. Scheduling "behind the wheel" (BTW) instructor times was, to say the LEAST, one of the worst and most horrific experiences ever! EVER!! Instructions were very unclear on how to schedule - no phone calls allowed, only texts. This could be perceived as innovative however it was in fact obnoxious! Responses to texts were untimely (up to 10 hours later), during hours "outside of normal busier hours" and inconsistent, ie no response after several follow-ups). The scheduler was mean, rude, uncooperative, prejudiced and lacked any sense of decency. She refused to give out her name, so henceforth will be known as "Karen". Karen claimed that students needed to finish class work before being scheduled for BTW and, that they would need to practice driving before BTW scheduling occurred. WTF!! - I thought the instructors were to teach them with their specially equipped cars(brake on the instructors side)!!! That's why we send them to driving school - to learn how to drive with equipment that's not accessible to the public!!! We as parents do not have the proper automobiles that are equipped-the instructors should be taking this on as that is what we pay them for!! We as parents have the responsibility to hone our children's BTW experience after the basic concepts are taught! Seems this school is backwards and doesn't want to be held accountable for the outcome and wants the students that have driving experience! I do not recommend this school at all if you want to get your children licensed for the first time. It was not very expensive but I suppose, you get what you pay for. Never, ever have I encountered such terrible customer service from a person; I do not understand how this business still exists!! Whether it's "Ken's Driving School" or "1st Breese" (Breeze?) -- stay far away.

I KNOW,…read moreit is included at Public High Schools but she didn't get into the summer school session when she was 15. She needed another summer activity and to have more practice time before she turned 16. So we bit the bullet. I am really glad she did. It gave the summer a focus, she had a really positive experience when she wasn't worried about school and sports and she had lots of driving with Mom and Dad before she turned 16. If you can afford it and the timing doesn't work out in your normal HS, this is a really good alternative.

They first told me more than once that their person sent the refund to me electronically- which never happened. They then claimed I couldn't get the money back because we had a no show - which was a lie. Take your business elsewhere. After this incident, I questioned the integrity of this whole operation.

I called the number that had originally texted me about the class. At first, there was no answer, but I received a call back shortly after. When I explained I was at the school for class, I was told it had been canceled and that cancellation messages were sent out. However, I never received any such message. Instead of taking accountability, the person on the phone questioned whether I was sure I didn't get a message, asked for my phone number again, and even doubted whether I had confirmed for that day. I explained that I had received the class details from the very number I was speaking with--how else would I have it? What made it worse was that I wasn't the only one left in the dark--another student was also there waiting. If it takes three students to run a class, and cancellation texts were supposedly sent, that means there was a full class planned. This situation was not only careless but entirely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I wouldn't recommend this driving school based on how poorly they handled this.

The receptionist said that the first 5 classes were available at that time, and then we would make the schedule for the remaining 5. On the first day of class, we were ready for class when the driving instructor contacted me and told me that there was a cancellation and asked if I wanted to go early. I told him no. Then when 9am came around, he sent me another text telling me that my class is at 9 a.m., not 10 a.m. and that they would not return my money because I didn't show up on time. I wanted to check the website to have proof that my time was at 10 a.m. and their website didn't even work. I told the instructor by text, and he just replied that he doesn't know when the website is going to work. I had to call the next day because the first class was on the 4th of July and the Excel Driving school office was closed. The receptionist acknowledged the confusion and rescheduled his first class. We finally went to his class, and the instructor was on the phone the entire time while my son drove. I told my son that if it happens again that the instructor is on the phone. Instead of paying attention, we would report her. The next class, the instructor, never showed up. She never replied to my texts, and I called Excel school to make the report. We wasted 1 hour waiting for her, and the school contacted me until the next day to give me another date. At that moment, I canceled the classes and asked for a refund of 9 classes since my son only took one class. They agreed, and after 6 days, they returned only the money for 8 classes. I contacted the school, and they lied, saying that my son had 2 classes. The school knows that his instructor did not make it to the second class. I have a text from the instructor who texted me 2 hours later the day she didn't arrive to class, apologizing because something had come up. I am upset because the school charged in advance, and I do not want to return the full money for the classes my son did not take.

His primary focus is improving the student's road skills; everything else comes second! He provides really good guidelines about the road rules of Illinois. He would also make us feel comfortable by talking about his learning experience. The USP of this driving school is that, unlike other driving schools, Imran is focused on ensuring his students become excellent, efficient, smart and defensive drivers, no matter what their current level of expertise in driving is! He identifies the areas of improvement and the mindset shift that is needed and gives us more practice in those areas. For example, I am used to the driving attitude from a different country. I had to unlearn those guidelines and shift my mindset to tune to the driving attitude of Illinois. I am really glad I learned driving from Imran sir! Kudos to his efforts and sincerity!!
