They may be good with dogs, but I will never know. This is my very 1st one star review, and I'm…read moremotivated to leave this horrible review because of how I was treated. I signed up for a training class in December and not only did they push the date back to the middle of February with a simple "deal with it", they changed my class time to late in the evening with no alternatives. I was told "too bad we need to give your spot away" -- the woman said they'd reimburse me, so I guess we will see. I've been waiting to train my puppy, but oh well! It's not bothering them in any way. I'm very disappointed in this organization's ability to communicate with the public and strive to address the needs of their clients without throwing those who PRE-PAID off a cliff.

I prefer Animal Sense for Obedience Training but LTDTC is excellent for Agility classes and…read moreConfirmation training. They also have therapy classes and Therapy Dog Auditions set up here. The classes meet at the Odeum in Villa Park. The facility is enormous and makes a great locale for setting up a variety of agility equipment. They've been in the business for sixty years so you know you're dealing with a group of people who've been around for a while. They have a giant network of dog lovers, trainers, breeders, and even publicity people. You know, if you want to make your dog a movie star.. (ick) Tessa was not the star of her agility class, a graceful dog she is not. But she was comical and a good sport. They hold an agility contest that anyone can enter and we were encouraged. Tessa fell off the balance beam and fought her way through the chute to earn a laughing applause at the end. My girl!! They were recently given an award by the American Kennel Club: http://www.akc.org/news/index.cfm?article_id=3638

As he grew I realized no matter how many youtube videos I watched it was not enough! I found Jaime through a local doggie daycare ... We decided the 2 week board and train would be best for our situation. Denali is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix and was jumping, barking, crazy Impulsive, eating socks, and paper things. Just 2 weeks of training and he was calmer, he would stay on a "place" his cot, he didn't drag me on our walks. People would say how well he would behave then when they found out he was less than a year old they were amazed. OMG I love Jaime she has been a GOD Sent. Jaime came back for a follow-up visit and had to run back to her car and Denali actually cried when she left. He loves her and so do I! Thank you for all you help and continued support. Our unique situation of moving across the country with a much different living situation went very smoothly with our dogs because Jamie prepped them for all the new things they would encounter. She prepped them for elevators, going out and using the bathroom on a leash along with coming when called. We could not recommend her enough and look forward to working with her in the future.

DISCLOSURE: First, I want to make it clear that this review is based JUST on Ian's ability and not…read morethe business. I can not rate the business because I used Ian when he worked for another training company. I have read the reviews here and the negatives seem to be about how the new business is being run and NOT about Ian's ability as a trainer. Hopefully Ian reads the reviews and fixes those parts of the business that are causing negative reviews. MY STORY: We adopted a rescue dog (a 80 lbs. Chow) and gets overly excited and therefore no one else wanted it. When we first got her it was difficult for me and impossible for my wife to walk the dog. Although it was funny to watch the dog pull my wife around the neighborhood, something had to be done. We called a company and Ian came over and spent about 15 minutes talking with us about the dog and about us. He asked us what we wanted to accomplish. He then took the dog on a 10 minute walk by himself. When he came back we all went for a walk and I was amazed we had a new dog. Our dog was walking behind him and was constantly looking at Ian for direction. Ian then let us walk the dog and show us how to hold the leash and to correct the dog. Within a couple more visits our dog was exercising on a treadmill and retrieving beers from the fridge for me (kidding on this one.) I will say you will have to continue to be consistent with the dog. Dogs are very smart and will want to follow a leader, the problem is when we forget to be that leader. Good luck Ian with the business and please fix the issues raised by others so you can continue helping other dogs.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She had plenty of tips and techniques and it was nice having her visit the home for the sessions to see how he is in that environment. After several mixed purpose sessions I feel like we're on the path to success, maybe. We hope .
