She did a PERFECT almond shape (and I do not say this lightly as I am quite particular), had a great color selection of gel polishes, and was SO FAST while still maintaining a high level of quality. I am so happy I chose to walk in when I did, as the random selection turned out to be an excellent decision. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. :)

Then, she told this guy to apply nail polish, I questioned why there was none of the above and why no application of moisturizer was done and he said he thought the other lady did it already, She only told her to apply nail polish. When he asked her what's going on, she blamed my dry skin for her laziness to do the work she is supposed to do. I really should have stopped the service there and then, walked out and not pay these dimwits who will amount to nothing in life if they continue with their shady and discriminatory business ethics. However, I was desperate to to get my nails done so I let it be. Then, this guy who took great pains to say his customers says he's got an American accent and seemed offended that I said no, you don't, you have a British accent, proceeded to do my manicure by using the buffer you would only use when you are getting acrylics. They applied the polish on my toes and finger nails with ridges of layers showing. i decided to choose my battle and not argue as they seem to lack the necessary skills to be successful in all ways. There prices are reasonable with a set of Acriylic nails costing £30 and infills £15. They do two different types of Acrylic nails, the plain ones with the pink and white acrylic and the airbrushed ones. The staff are really friendly and a laugh and always make you feel welcome. They are very hospitable as even if i have gone away and broke a nail and come back the next day they fix it for free. When it was my friends wedding they fitted us all in in the morning and did a really good job of her and the bridesmaids nails. The only problem is parking is sparse. You can park in the street opposite but you can only park for one hour. You used to be able to park in the guildhall but that is shut at the moment (Nov 2008) but if you can park there you can park for two hours!

But although the communication was a little difficult (from someone who doesn't know what options there are and with question vs all staff having Chinese as a first language) the outcome was amazing. The first two occasions I had the nails painted with union jacks, not foils or templates, actual hand painted lines which were perfectly straight and of the correct thickness having shown an image of what I wanted. It was a little stressful not knowing what I would end up with but I was really impressed with the quality of fitting and removal a month later. My latest visit has been for a coral colour and they have a vast selection of colours but if there is something specific that you want then you will need to provide it. As communication is a problem but customer and nail technicians can find it stressful, but if your more interested in great nails then this isn't a reason to be put off. They are cheaper than some of the other companies locally and always have time to fit you in (with a short wait and then slightly rushed service). Overall I would recommend Bath's American Nail and will continue to use them as a cheap local option. But I will get advice on how to maintain my nails from youtube!

I'm a level 3 qualified beauty therapist and I could not believe the audacity of this woman I would be absolutely mortified if that was my work!
