80 you're ever in downtown Barry and want a great experience then Nibblers is the place for you…read morethey offer a wide range of traditional salon services as well as chemical callous removal pedicures (which I had) as well as the fish pedicures where you immerse your feet in a tank of little fishies that are more than happy to nibble the dead skin away for you. They also offer a wide range of massage packages including aromatherapy and deep tissue Swedish. This was my first proper massage and I head the head neck shoulder and back Swedish massage and it felt like a goddess had touched me. Altogether my treatments took two hours total and only cost £55. The staff are super nice and courteous and constantly checking to see if you are comfortable or need a beverage. I can't wait for next year so I can visit them again!

Initially set up offering Garra Ruffa Fish Therapy, they have now branched into other complimentary beauty therapies. I've had waxing, acrylic nails, hopi ear candling and an Indian head massage. I also use their 'wobbly machines'. Out of all the salons I've used, this one is by far my favourite! They use good quality products, the staff really know their job (and clearly love what they do) and time and time again, I come away impressed with the quality of service I've received. Well worth a visit! Edited to add that yet again I'm struck by their high quality and caring service. They managed to fit me in for an emergency eyebrow wax. No matter how busy they are, you are always treated with the best service possible! I've tried many salons over the years and this one is by far my favourite and it has very much earned my loyalty.

I don't go in for all of this nail extensions and decorative paint jobs malarkey. Well, not these…read moredays anyway. I do a lot of gardening, and it would simply be a waste of money. I used to have my nails done, without the multi-coloured varnish with motifs and diamante glue-ons, when I worked in the computer industry many years ago... things were a lot more sedate back then! A friend of mine decided to try them out, and American Best Nails is who she chose to do them. She's quite shy, and admitted that she didn't engage much in the conversation, that nonetheless bounced along quite happily without her for much of the time. It seems that the technicians had much to talk about amongst themselves! The results were pretty impressive, and lasted well over a month before my friend broke a couple of them on the door handle of her car. A gust of wind caught the door as she was opening it, and slammed the door shut again, taking two of the nails with it. After this, she decided to cut them all off, as they no longer looked so good. Although she enjoyed having lovely long nails all of the same length, she won't be forking out the cash to get them done again. They cost over £30 for the gel nails and airbrush paint job, and caused havoc with her contacts, making it particularly difficult to take her lenses out.

My nails are almost always messily painted and the varnish is chipped within seconds of…read moreapplication. I'm no 'Plastic' as the teens would say. I always envy people their perfect nails. If I had the kind of lifestyle that leant itself to nice nails, I could spend a lot of time in places like American Best Nails. I'm kinda of glad I haven't though. Pals who've visited, have come out with the odd scratch, half an hour of fairly dull conversation and some great looking talons for thirty odd quid that lasted for four weeks. FOUR WEEKS. I guess that means you get some bang for your buck. Personally I'd get bored, they wouldn't match or clash well enough with each of a month's worth of outfits.

I have messaged them and an waiting for a reply.Honeslty this is so baddd. Even if i paid £25 they should not be falling off after two weeks.I work in an office not as if it isi my own fault through knocking them Just bare this in mind if you decide to go. The nail bar only has two stations but they are currently training up two girls and opening another room with two more stations. Was offered a coffee on arrival and it was there by my side within a few minutes. She got straight to work on my nails, and they were done within about 40 minutes (god she made it look easy!) I have french acrylics quite short and have a little flower painted on each thumb, which the girl does herself in about 2 secs with nail polish free hand. Was very impressed with the quality, the look and most of all the price of my nails. My nails looked lovely and lasted me about 3 weeks. I go back regularly for my infills.

There is a certain kind of man who can enter a beauty salon and not feel that special kind of intimidation that only comes when you're thoroughly out of your depth in an alien atmosphere. I am not one of those men. This is why I was exceptionally pleased with my treatment when I entered Tans and Hands. It was my girlfriend's birthday looming up, and she wanted something incomprehensible done to her skin that I, as a man, couldn't even half understand. She'd sigh wistfully as she walked past Tans and Hands, hoping that one day she might get the chance to have it done. I, being a boyfriend, leapt into action. I would get her a Gift Certificate! That would give her what she wanted, and also had a little benefit for me if she ended up looking even more radiant. Armed with this knowledge, I stormed in and quickly tripped over my own words. I hadn't a clue what she actually wanted. Sure, she mentioned it to me in passing, but going into a tanning salon and saying "my girlfriend wants you to do something to her skin", accompanying the sentence with vague hand waves isn't going to get you very far. Happily though, they saw my predicament and guided me gently through the experience.
