But Parkade is bright, clean, comfortable, and most of the machines are working most of the time. The staff there are helpful, very friendly, and professional. Sal, the older Italian guy who's always there, will instantly become your best friend and talk your ear off. I have a washer and dryer at home for doing the routine stuff, but I bring my big stuff like bedding and towels, and really stinky stuff like my dog's blankets, because the industrial machines just get things cleaner quicker. I've never been disappointed with either the results, the experience here, or the setting. Dropped off an item and was told would be ready 9/2 at 5pm. I arrive at 5:30 on 9/2 and the item not only isn't ready but it's at their Wethersfield location. (No call/text/email to alert of this delay ahead of time, and no apology for it, which was the first perplexing moment) I'm told I can come back tomorrow morning or drive to Wethersfield. I tell them neither are an option as I am mid packing and literally moving across the country at 8AM the following morning. I had to ask (rather than being offered, considering the inconvenience) if they could just deliver it since they do provide delivery services. The staff person reluctantly called her father back and then it was decided they would drop it off at my home that night and I provided my address. The night came and went, no call and no show. On 9/3, I call first thing in the morning and no answer. I then call the Wethersfield location and the person on the phone told me they did get the notice to do this yesterday, but that "it was getting too dark outside by the time it got to 7-7:30pm" and that was why they didn't come. No call to let me know either. He tells me it's going to be delivered this morning and they were leaving in about 20 minutes and I would get it in about 40 minutes. I remind him that my movers are literally arriving in 45 minutes and it's cutting it close as I still need to pack the item- as you might have guessed, this info had no effect on the person and he said the arrival time remained the same. The bottom line worst part about this was at ZERO point in time did I receive any kind of apology or meaningful attempt to make things right. I arrived at the exact date and time you provided on my receipt slip, if you don't have it ready, have the decency to call ahead, and at the VERY least when this is happening, you should acknowledge your screw up and do what you can to make things right. The girl working at the store literally said to me "I'm just a girl who works here who goes to school" and pointed at her college sweatshirt. Pretty sure being the owners daughter and a college student shouldn't exempt you from doing your JOB properly. The abhorrent lack of customer service and the "no call no show" when it was promised to come that night, and THEN offering zero apology and acting like they were doing me a favor with the morning delivery was beyond the most bizarre and ridiculously poor behavior I've ever seen from a small or large business. They then dropped it off without even ringing the doorbell. To add insult to injury the comforter came with a large rip in it.
