I arrived here several minutes ago at 6:55 o'clock. It is now 7:02 and I'm sitting out front because they would not let me in. The closing time says seven, and I'm just here to pick up a suit. They stared at me and said sorry we're closed and I pointed to the clock and showed it was before seven and she shrugged her shoulders. If you can't hire employees that give a shit about the work that they're doing, Maybe you should close down your store and find another business to go into. I will be there again so that I can pick up my suit, but I will no longer do business with this company. I would not recommend this provider. Did not have a positve experience. Poorly run, no leadership presence to work through issues. Best Cleaners did an excellent job on restoring the colors of my American flag. And I was not charged for their service!

They definitely do a good job and take great care in the their dry cleaning. They also have excellent hours, including being open on Sundays. However, the prices are definitely high. It was $20 to dry clean my wool jackets and $50 to dry clean my down Cole Haan jacket. (I'm sure it got special treatment.) They do offer semi-regular coupons, however. They definitely have a well-oiled machine. read more

I brought a heavy wool coat to be dry cleaned here. When I picked it up, I noticed that instead of buttoning it up on the hanger (which most places will do), they had just folded it over and tied the belt. A little weird, but honestly didn't think much of it. Maybe someone was in a rush. I didn't need to wear the coat for a couple weeks so I kept it in the plastic and put it in my closet. When I did take it out to wear, I noticed almost all of the buttons had broken. This was a high quality coat, so it wasn't an issue with the materials. And they hid this from me by folding over the mess and tying it instead of just telling me what happened. Since I didn't need to wear the coat for a while I didn't notice right away. I called and tried to resolve the issue with the staff but was told I'd waited too long. So not only did I still have to pay for the cleaning, I had to find and buy a new set of buttons (not easy for this particular coat) and take it to a tailor to put them on. the whole ordeal cost about $70. I received a gift of 'Selvidge" jeans that were just a little too long. For some reason, they did not come any shorter and I thought the leg did not have enough taper and the opening at the ankle was a little too wide for my taste and they just sat in my closet. I am quite sure they were meant to be rolled up but the roll was too much when I did. I received a coupon in the mail for a discount on alterations and thought why not give them a shot. I wasn't wearing the jeans anyway. A gentleman tailor, whose name I will get when I go back to thank him, performed unarguably perfect work and altered a pair of expensive selvidge jeans such that they looked unaltered. The thread, its color and stitch spacing matched perfectly to the original. The work really did exceeded my expectations. They fit perfectly. The tailor did notice they weren't ordinary Levi's and consequently I felt confident with him performing the work and with the, the price was reasonable. Good job cleaning, but they lose my clothes, several occasions, and always 'misplace' the coupon. They lose the bags and the insert, where your nearly filled up card is lost, so no discount..... Honestly, this is pretty simple stuff. Clean up the management of the place or people will go elsewhere. Borderline I ethical, or just plain stupid. read more

I guess the price is reasonable for Glastonbury prices? But honestly I can get it for half the price the next town over in Manchester. 2 stars because they would not tell me how much it would be, until I finally picked it up and was stuck with the bill. It wouldn't have been a problem except I had 7 cashmere sweaters and a pair of silk pants dry cleaned. I suppose they do a good enough job, but... I just dropped off a casual dress, a suit, a tie, and a pair of pants, and it was 72 dollars. Definitely my fault for not asking for a price list ahead of time. But doesn't change the fact that I won't be returning to this place! I have no idea how they stay afloat (other than the fast turnaround time, which is a real positive) charging what they charge. I've been brining my cleaning to best cleaners for 12-15 years now. Never any problems until now. I brought in a full bag of shirts and all my white dress shirts vanished. I assumed that the guy just forgot them when I picked up. So when I brought in my next bag of shirts I asked if they had them. They claimed they never had them and they aren't there. Oh so I guess ALL my white dress shirts just vanished. Best cleaners lost them and claim to know nothing. Avoid this business. read more

We ordered a wall hanging and paid extra to have it delivered in time to have it pressed. Took it to Best Cleaners. It was black. Where they pressed it there were white lines running through it. I was told to bring in my receipt. The next week I brought in the receipt. The manager there told me she had to check with someone if they would refund me. She then called and told me to pick the money up from Jackie. I called to find out when Jackie would be working. I was there twice - 2 different days - and Jackie was not there and no one else could pay me. For the last 3 years, we yet to get clean clothes, too many redid, waste if tune, staff incompetent, they just don't get it, retraining hasn't worked. If you want your clothes clean take them to top cleaners as they ensure "clean" clothing. On mgr at best cleaners told me they mix our clothes with customers clothing, rugs etc that have cat urine all over. So unsanitary!! When you ask best cleaners to delinted clothing it is NEVER DONE. The only thing they know how to do is stand at register and collect our money. Mgrs attitude is beyond unacceptable. They place is getting worse by the year. I called them first thing in the morning before I arrived in CT for my son's wedding. I asked if they would be able to steam press my dress for my son's wedding. Since I wasn't getting into Bradley until about 1 pm they couldn't promise they could, but they didn't give me an absolute no like several other places I called. They were the first stop we made on our way to the hotel and they took care of my dress right away! When I showed up 3 days later to pick up my items, the clerk who was finalizing my payment told me the charges were $96 and change. I can't believe it! read more

just picked up 3 pairs of pants that all had the waist expanded, i haven't tried them on as of yet, but from what i've seen so far they've exceeded all expectations. they were cleaned and pressed in addition to being tailored for what i once thought was a very high price. i'm posting these comments now because of the negative comments i read prior that are so far completely false. DO NOT BRING DRAPERIES TO BEST CLEANERS of GLASTONBURY, CT! A RIP OFF!!!!!!! They do NOT guarantee their work on draperies, so unless you have money to waste, find another business to clean your drapes! I brought a single panel, lined, 72 inch, silk drapery to Best as it was spotted with mini food and wine stains. When I dropped the drapery off, I pointed these stains out. When I picked up the panel and returned home, I found all stains present and accounted for! I had just paid $26.50 for NOTHING!!!!!! I returned to the business, and I was told that I COULD NOT get my $$$ back, although they would be happy to take the drape back and try again-----to which I replied, "Why would I believe that you could remove the stains on a 2nd try when you didn't do it on the 1st, paid-for try?" A very fair question!!!! I repeated that I wanted my $$$ back, and was told that I would not be reimbursed for their failure to remove even one stain! I told them BEST had just lost a customer (no remorseful response from the manager whatsoever!!!! He immediately moved on to the waiting customer standing behind me. SERIOUSLY???????). NEVER GOING BACK TO BEST CLEANERS AGAIN!!!! I have just saturated this drape with STAIN OFF and thrown it in the washing machine on the delicate cycle. Maybe the stains will come out,-----OR-- , maybe the stains will remain and the drape will continue to be unusable. Whatever the outcome, I have learned that unless a business will take responsibility for their service or lack thereof, one should not be stupid enough to give them their hard-earned cash!!! read more
