my last review didn't post for some reason. So here it is again. This is by far the best pawn shop I've been too, not because of their selection of items but because the staff it top class. I've been here 5 or 6 times now and they are all good people working there. They will treat you right with whatever you need. Blake read more

My husband went in wanting to sell his gun and the first thing the guy assisting my husband asked if they were stolen. Did he just instantly racially profile my husband for looking hispanic? My husband did not catch the guys name but trying to do business and getting that response definitely do not go and waste your time there. Horrible customer service. read more

I've seen some reviews saying Top Cash Pawn is overpriced, but I have to disagree -- I went recently and the prices were excellent! They have a great selection of high-end items that are definitely worth the value, and everything is negotiable. Sometimes you just have to ask don't be shy! The staff was super helpful and made sure I got an amazing deal. Excellent customer service all around if you're in the area, it's worth checking out! read more

They are always pleasant to me. I have used them for 3 loans now. They give me fair prices loans. One must remember you're probably going to get 1/3 of the value(if the item is in like new condition) of something because they have to make their money back and that's by being about to sell to item for more than they loaned to you or paid you. It's a pawn shop ya know? read more

I came in Sunday morning for Mother's Day not too long ago, I was checking out some rings for me and my finance... and when I was asking about prices they let me know that there was a up too 50% discount on the rings which was great! Me and my finance both found some rings that qualified for the 50% discount which was even better and when they let us know the total for both the rings my finance who is a disabled veteran asked if they offered a military discount the lady helping us said she needed to ask her boss... he then shouts across the store " you're already getting a 50% discount" granted yes we are, we're looking for the best deal and it never hurts to ask since my finance did serve his time in the military. He definitely could have handled that in a more mature way. read more

Folks that follow me on Yelp know I'm somewhat of a bargain shopper. If I'm out in Austin, I hit every pawn shop I can find. Sometimes (OK always) you find the junk; other days I find a treasure for a decent price. High end watches are usually my game plus some interesting old world jewelry for the wife. Hey, you never know what your gonna find. I've actually made some purchases for Christmas gifts at this Top Cash Pawn last year. I ventured in a few days ago and after viewing the entire store I finally (among the sea of crap) a gun that caught my fancy. Lets review here. Born and raised on a 100 acre ranch; shot a gun as early as 5 years old. Not an avid collector; but I let a .22 pistol go when I shouldn't have New shootin' iron here I come! Ummmm, what do you mean I can't see it? You have to perform a background check before you even take it out of the case? What is this CALIFORNIA? Well, I guess I'm done searching for diamonds in the rough at this particular Top Cash Pawn read more

Just came in to look and absolutely found an amazing ring that I fell in love with and couldn't let go. A woman by the name of Nicole helped me and was very helpful, very nice also she helped me get my ring for a GREAT price. No body asked me for a review either, just naturally good service. read more

Came in cause I needed a few bucks to float me till payday. Brought in a Nintendo switch in great condition, had the box and all with it, and they offered me $120 on the spot. More than the other shops In the area, so it was an easy choice. The manager Denise also explained to me that I had 3 full months to make any sort of payments on my ticket, which was pretty suprising to me. I was in and out, and happy with the service, would recommend. read more

I would put no stars but one is the lowest option. They will gaslight the hell out of you to bring in your stuff to get it looked at then go straight for offering you a quarter of what they quoted. Even had the audacity to lie and say there's one on eBay way cheaper while I had the current cheapest eBay option opened up on my phone. read more

Very nice, clean and helpful staff. When I've called in looking for a particular item they are sure to check the store and other locations to help you find what you are looking for. They are very well informed on the most up to date items so they won't sell you something that isn't in excellent working conditions. I've sold some items in the past and bought from this location. Each time has been a positive experience. I would definitely recommend them for used electronics, instruments, and jewelry. read more

Yes bought a laptop from this store dead equipment computer is slow as hell spent $180 I guess that's why they don't have a return policy.... not happy about my purchase at all. read more

I went to Top Cash Pawn today, and had an amazing time. I was looking for a bass guitar, and I saw one that I liked. I asked to take a look, and the manager said she'd take off 10% if I wanted it! She even allowed me to plug it into the amp to test it, and it worked! She was very nice and very helpful, and I'll be sure to go back for more instruments! read more

These guys are fraudsters. Beware of the Craig's List bait & switch. Travelled all the way down to south Austin just to find out they were trying to sell a router for the price of an airport Time Capsule. Total BS. read more

I visited does pawn shop last night at about 7:15 p.m. I showed up with a smart TV which did not have the remote. I also had an Xbox 360 I wanted to pawn. I am a single mother with a six-year-old and was in a bind. I was only trying to get 20 2 $40 to get us through the next few days. They watched me carry it all in and then proclaimed they are not taking smart TVs or Xboxes at this time. The gentleman helped me carry the television out and then they went inside and were laughing. They then locked the doors and started closing. I am completely disgusted please don't shop here. read more

I saw Store #2 (Brianna) Craigslist ad for a pictured YELLOW GOLD Christmas Tree Charm and asked her to hold it for my son to pick up for me. NO where in the ad did it say the color but when my son brought it to me it was 925 SILVER. The manager, Daniel, told me yes it DOES appear yellow in BOTH photos but your son shouldn't have bought it as no where in the ad does it state what color/type gold it was so I was out of luck. I then contacted the Slaughter Ln. Store and spoke to Denise who told me she contacted the upper management and he said I was out of luck because it wasn't their fault that my son bought it and that I couldn't rely on photos due to lighting issues! Yet, I have the photo and ALL admitted it is clearly portrayed as Yellow Gold. And still they'd do nothing about it. A poor way to run a business -- but lesson learned; I'll never return! They'd rather a poor review than to have a satisfied customer; I would have welcomed store credit or partial refund but I got absolutely nothing. I should be able to rely on the photo for an accurate photo. I understand lighting issues but this one is clearly YELLOW GOLD. Oh well....lesson learned. I did read yelp reviews before my purchase but decided NOT to heed their advice.....you'd do well to heed MY advice and avoid Top Cash Pawn. read more

Walked into Top Cash Pawn a few weeks ago and was immediately greeted by the sales staff and directed to the loan counter. I needed a quick loan on my Macbook to help out one of my friends, and I was helped quickly and given top dollar for my computer. The one month free interest is really helpful as well. The staff was professional and fast, and the manager Denise was especially kind and knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back next time I need a loan! read more

Very clean shop with a friendly and helpful staff, they don't have a really big shop nor do they have a lot of merchandise, however they appear to be growing pretty quickly and with their great customer service I will continue to check in on them now and again. read more

Best pawn shop in Austin. Went in just to look and ended up finding he most gorgeous ring. The selection was incredible and the staff was super friendly and nice! The manger Denise was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and sweet! Prices are good and everything is negotiable. They really want to help you get whatever it is you need/want. Between the amazing staff and great selection I will definitely be back soon! read more

Talk about a bad deal. Absolutely insane pricing that's literally almost retail on most things. I frequent most pawn shops in Austin, and this is by far the least appealing. read more

Do not go here I tested the waters and took 1k diamonds earrings, 14k gold ring, citizen watch 2nd armani exchange watch. The lady offered me 100 dollars and couldn't even hold a straight face. I expected to get low balled cause that's what pawnshops do but 100 for like 3k with of stuff. Went to another shop and they offered me 150 just for the ring. read more

They short changed me on my loan item (not even 1/3 of the actual value) and when I got the item back, it was damaged. Of course they won't own up to damaging it. That woman is a total bitch. These people are scum. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

This place has the worse Management/Owner I have ever dealt with. David is rude and arrogant just because he owns a business. I filed a complaint via email and explained my circumstances, and David was so rude, he over talked me and was very unprofessional. He talked about his high tech video cameras and what he owns, etc., He never acknowledged that his Manager could be wrong. He also stated that she knows me...Really? David the owners response was "I own your purses"! Wow! He never acknowledged that his Manager Denise was wrong for not following up with a return call. He told me that I was Rude and I needed to learn to give bees honey in order to get what I want! What a way to respond to a customer. He treated me like I was indigent, and uneducated. Regardless to why I originally got the loan, I am a Human Being and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect! read more

There are no signs nor verbal warnings of all sales final. I took in my unused reciprocating saw purchased yesterday to exchange it for a more expensive one (after research, realizing a larger model would better suit my needs). Even though I wanted to spend more money I was shown to the door. read more

Very Rude staff and pretty small selection, don't waste your time

Everything here is overpriced, manager doesn't come down on price, I guess she doesn't believe in depreciation of merchandise value. I've been there on different occasions in the morning and there's usually someone getting yelled at in the back. I understand taking care of business but there's no reason to do it while customers are there. Feel sorry for my favourite workers from there, they're deeply under appreciated. Would not go there looking for any sort of deals! read more

Dodgy. Inconsistent. They make making payments as difficult and complicated as possible. Just save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

My girl got a loan here and had been paying it everymonth. The ONE day she's late, they drop it and when we show up to see what we can do, DENISE the store manager, was extremely rude and confrontational. She wanted us to leave the store after I had told her we just wanted to pay for our item. She was trying to give us the run around with her calling her supervisor trying to figure out a price for an item that was 1 day late all while arguing on her personal cell phone. EZ Pawn has a 3 day grace period past the last due date and the customer service there is 100% Superior. I DO NOT recomend anyone take their business to top cash on w slaughter. read more

This store gave me misinformation and then profited off it. I received a short term loan using a handgun as collateral. When I was issued the loan I told the staff at the shop that I only had a passport for ID. The clerk told me that would be fine. When I returned a couple months later, the staff told me that they couldn't use my passport and that I couldn't have my gun back. When I told the manager that staff had told me the passport would work, her response was: "Yeah, but I didn't tell you that, he did." When I came back a couple weeks later with a state ID to get my gun the manager charged me interest for every day after they denied my passport despite them admitting it was their mistake. The manager said she wouldn't adjust the price and had no apology either. My issue seems specific but this store is simply not accountable for what they tell you. There's no need to deal with these people. There is another Top Cash Pawn a few streets over at Congress and 1st. Go there instead. read more
