Terrible experience had me waiting for over an hour and a half for my appointment. Excuse was "two doctors called out"

Part of dental hygienics is diagnosis to prevent future problems. Unfortunately it appears that Dr Nasimi lied to us for years about the state of our teeth, ignoring or delaying honest assessments of what is needed. This was done during times when small interventions on cavities and other issues would have been easy, cheap and fast. But because of his inability or inaction, rooted at a lack of care for the future of his clients both financially and physically, we instead are left with major dental surgery, time wasted and massive bills. Dr. Suleman Nasimi is a very charming person and his dental hygienists for tooth cleanings are amazing. Both of these factors hide well the major damage this practice will do to your health and finances. Additionally, the office is a money mill. Meaning they do not ever honor the appointment times promised. I've waited an average of 2-3 hours after my appointment time every single time, of the 8 or 9 times I booked. Finally, these may just be mistakes, but please check your insurance records. My insurance has been billed multiple times for procedures and x-rays the dentist did not take. This prevented us from getting my procedures covered at another dentist. Dentists are amazing people and not celebrated as they should be because you go in with pain and leave with pain. Making them one of the most under-appreciated doctors. But not this one. You deserve better. read more

While other dentists are cutting back and closing down, Dr. Nasimi is in the process of growing his practice at two locations! State of the art equipment, modern facility, young & friendly staff, expert dentist. Dr. Nasimi has a gentle hand and a kind spirit. If you're afraid of going to the dentist, he's perfect for you. His hygenist is also gentle - getting your teeth cleaned can be a nightmare with all the scraping & the loud sounds of the tools, but these experts use equiptment that is so advanced (shoots warm water at the teeth as it scrapes) that you feel comfortable the whole time. This is not one of my more obsessively-technical reviews because I have nothing negative to report. I easily stand by my 5 star review. And I've sent 4 friends/family members to him and they all say the same, "he's AWESOME!" NOTE: We're not just getting cleanings either; the following services have been seemless performed by him thereby leading me to this review: * replacement of metal fillings for white ones * Invisalign consult (leading to purchase) * Root canal * Surgery to correct infection (post-root canal by another dentist); included bone graph & post * Veneers * Whitening Prices are reasonable but he works with most insurance companies which is a huge relief. read more

I only make a few trips here every so often but the staff (every single one of them) is ALWAYS pleasant. First off, the office is very modern looking and clean. Not that the interior decor has anything to do with service but it just looks like they had the patient experience in mind. The ladies at the front desk are always so welcoming. I walked in today for the first time in a few years (heh) and as soon as I came in I was greeted by several people with a "Hello Stephanie!" - a little surprising but a really nice touch =) I can't remember my hygienist's name but reading the other reviews, it was probably Carol. Love her. Super nice lady who always chitchats with me for a bit before we get down to business. After every cleaning, she'll usually give me tips on how to keep my teeth clean throughout the day especially with my diet (candy & carbs sigh). Now Dr. Nasimi. Probably THE MOST polite and gentle dentist or person I have ever met. The worst part about dental visits before Tooth used to be the anesthesia (I think for my cavities? I forget) where they would stick a huge looking needle into your gums. At my very first check up here, I had to get anesthesia and I remember dreading what was always a short but IMO very painful feeling. When he proceeded to inject the anesthetic, he massaged my gums at the same time and .... I didn't feel a thing! Dr. Nasimi is a very soft spoken man which, in a way, keeps me relaxed. He answers every question as thoroughly as he can and never pushes anything on you. I had something done to my teeth from a previous dentist who did a not so stellar job. I asked Dr. Nasimi if I should redo it but he said it really wasn't necessary and I probably shouldn't bother with it for now. The wait time can be a little long at times (I got lucky today and came in in place of a cancellation) but really, this is pretty much the norm for doctors and appointments these days. I work in healthcare too and I'm not going to rush them as I wouldn't want them to rush with me. Horrible treatment! Dr. Nasimi did the implants few years ago and when few months ago I started an infection on those, peri-implantitis, he treated the infection with water and a prescription for rinse. I had few appointments with the same complaint (pain, blood, swollen) and he did nothing. At my last appointment in October, his advise was to replace two crowns near each other with one, in order to avoid the food accumulation (change of crown on top of the infected gum!!). I didn't keep that appointment, I went for a second opinion and immediately I was referred to a periodontist. The periodontist diagnosed me with gum disease, peri-implantitis and 50% bone loss due to this untreated infection for so long! The result: surgery with bone graft, pain, antibiotics and over $5,000.00 cost, and all due to the gross negligence and incompetence of Suleman Nasimi !!! Shame! My advise to everybody: to avoid this place. read more

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Nasimi for years now. I recently started to take my mom to him as well. She had an extreme dental phobia from a past traumatic experience, but her first visit went so smoothly and she felt at ease. Since then she gotten all cleanings, and other necessary procedures done from him. He is so caring, very professional and honest! As an Executive in the health care field, I find their lack of patient and customer service very disappointing. I tried calling for almost 2 weeks straight, every day, twice a day to schedule a follow up appointment to no avail. It's a shame they cannot get their staff to work together to schedule an appointment for a new client. In my experience, their lack of a "patient first attitude" is a direct reflection on their credibility. read more

I was looking for a new dentist. My previous guy is too far away. I live in Queens and don't want to drive far out to Long Island anymore. I decided to check YELP! and see if I could find a dentist. Yippee! I found TOOTH! Cool name...for sure. Nice location....corner of Utopia Parkway at Horace Harding (the eastbound service road of the Long Island Expressway). Walk up the L-O-N-G flight of steps to the office and enter what looks like a Space Station. Very clean bright and MODERN offices. I was greeted by a lovely (very white teeth!) receptionist. She asked me to fill out my medical history and requisite disclaimers, etc. When I was called into the treatment suite...I was greeted by a very nice guy (whose name I forgot). He has lots of tattooes and is a musician. Very cool. I thought I was in SoHo about to get a piercing. He is smart and kind and gentle and made me feel very relaxed. He took a ful set of X-Rays. Next: Drumroll.....Carol....Dental Hygienist to The Stars. She gets 10 STARS. What a doll. Perfect. Friendly. Very gentle. Smiles. Talks. Listens, Laughs. Oh...and she also did an AWESOME and thorough job cleaning my teefas. I told her that next time...I'm going to eat a package of OREO cookies before I go to see her so it takes her longer. Then.....Second Drumroll: Dr. Nisimi. They should play the theme from Star Wars when he walks in. He is terrific. Warm. Professional. Immaculate. Gentle. He did his thing, fixed somethibng that was bothering me. He answered questtions and suggested a follow-up visit. As I was leaving I was given a small care package of tiny toohpaste, floss, and a toothbrush. For the first time in a long time...I left the dentist office with not only clean teeth...but with a REAL smile on my face. TOOTH is my new dentist office. read more

I'm not the type to want to go to the dentist because of the pain and at one point was turned away from a dentist when I came in for an emergency. TOOTH dental is by far the best and has even made me look forward to seeing the dentist. They make everything painless and very comfortable for the patient. The office is clean and spacious. I do not understand these other reviews people post. As far as the staff they are very understanding and knowledge. One took the time to explain my insurance and coverage to me which took a big worry away. What you see in other reviews is true, Dr. Nasimi is not only a great person, but a fantastic dentist. Choosing a dentist in a large city can be a daunting task if you have no word-of-mouth recommendations or know anybody. Fortunately, I went off the reviews by other Yelpers and was very happy I made the choice. Tooth's offices are modern, spacious and welcoming. Not like a typical basement/first floor dentist you'd expect to see in NYC. From his receptionists to his assistants, everybody is friendly (and gentle). Every time I've gone in, I haven't sat for more than 10 minutes before heading to the back. Dr. Nasimi know's his teeth (no pun intended). He takes his time evaluating all options rather than rushing to a judgment and going with it. After he explains and answers everything for you, he begins his work. I had a root canal and crown done and didn't even feel a thing, which is the way it should be. If you're looking for a dentist in NYC, I would highly recommend to try Tooth out. This place is still two orders of magnitude better than other dentistry practices. They have the same friendly, competent staff(hello, can u say "low turnover?"). It is clean, located on Utopia and L.I.E., has a nice waiting room with large screen TV. Last December I came here for a second opinion and I immediately regretted going anywhere else. The other BK dentist(closer to where I live) charged ~$155 plus additional X-ray charge and said I needed to have work done for a cracked tooth. He emphasized how worried he was that the tooth might crack open or something. I told him there was no pain even when he cracked his tool on the molar making a clinging sound. There seemed to be a mixture of incompetence and culture of ripoff at this nameless place that awkwardly retrofitted a beautiful old Clinton Hill home to house a business. Dr Nasimi CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED remnants of an old filling(harmless). I would much rather support the clean, modern office that cares about their patients and the upkeep of their office. In December, they did not charge me for their digital X-ray for some reason. Today's (mid-March 2015) cleaning by Carol was excellent and cost $90(I don't have dental insurance). No charge for the exam. Obviously I will be back! read more

Dr. Nasimi is the best dentist I ever had. He takes time to explain every procedure, shows you x-rays and walks you through all the treatment options. I had my first root canal done here and was terrified but the entire experience was quick and painless. The front desk staff and hygienists are courteous and competent, and their billing practices are transparent. I've recommended Dr. Nasimi to so many people and have had friends/family commute from far away places to be seen by him, no one has been disappointed. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Nasimi enough. He is the only dentist I have ever liked (I've seen about 7 different dentists in the past). Been coming here for 5 years and have never looked back. He was recommended by my old dentist who no longer accepts my insurance. I thank my old Dentist all the time for sending me to Dr Nasimi. His office is brand new and BEAUTIFUL!! Dr. Nasimi is a fabulous doctor. I've been a long-time patient and highly recommend him as honest, trustworthy and professional. Dr. Nasimi got me on a regular course of cleanings that dramatically improved my dental health and then he started me with the Invisalign program that he specifically tailored to my needs. There were no hidden fees or charges and he has held true to the deal we had. Tooth NY has been a wonderful experience for my family and I. I have been a very happy patient for over 3 years. It's difficult to find a Dentist you are comfortable with and Dr. Nasimi is almost a unicorn in that regard. He is affable, honest, and takes his time to keep you well informed on your dental health and treatment. I have been very impressed with his professionalism and clinical knowledge. I have never experienced a delay in scheduling an appointment or misunderstandings with the location of my appointment. The staff has always been thorough, kind and accommodating to my schedule. This dentist is by far the best dentist I have gone to. The location is perfect being that I live 10 minutes away. I found out about this place from my cousin who highly recommended this facility. My first visit consisted of meeting the hygienist who gently explained what work needs to be done after taking my x-rays. What I loved the most is how comfortable everyone made me feel besides making me feel bad about the horrendous mess that was in my mouth. If your looking for a team of people who is focused on building back your self-esteem this is the place for you. I am a patient of Dr. Nasimi's... looking at these reviews that people have written really makes me frustrated. There are extremely inaccurate. The receptionists have been nothing but helpful since my first day coming into the office.. any questions I have regarding my visit has always been addressed. They make sure that all my questions are answered and that I fully understand everything regarding insurance, etc. They are very prompt with answering phone calls and they always bend over backwards to get me in as soon as possible if I am in any sort of pain. Regarding Dr. Nasimi, I have nothing but good things to say about this man. He is very gentle and thoroughly explains everything. The best of the best. The only dentist I've ever liked/ looked forward to seeing. Dr. Nasimi is so professional, gentle and kind. The only doctor I have known that has not been money hungry.
