Joe's Place - Not the peppers I ordered and paid for

Let me start by saying that I love this place, but lets get the negative out of the way first, this…read moreplace could use some remodeling or some thing along those lines. It looks like it is in a bit of disrepair and the menu looks 30 years old. Now for the good. The food is great here. The food is nothing fancy, but if you are looking for a burger, steak sandwich or a hoagie this is the place to go. My wife that is a vegetarian loves the cheese sub. Also when you order a whole hoagie here you get a big sandwich. The prices are also very reasonable very easy to feed a family here for less that $20. The workers here are also very friendly and accommodating with special request, and if you are in a hurry like I usually am to get home from work you can call the order in advance. I am not sure why this is in the Pizza category however, they only have french bread Pizza, I would say that it is more a sandwich shop.

Never again... If 0 was an option that would be it…read more Not only was this completely over priced ($34 for a sandwich and a side salad) but there was no meat on the sandwich and I paid $2.08 for sweet peppers ($1.04) and hot peppers ($1.04) there wasn't a single one on the entire sandwich. The lettuce for the salad was shredded lettuce that was turning brown from it sitting in a bin. I looked online before I ordered and the prices were $11 for the sandwich, $.50 for the peppers x2 and just under $7 for the salad. So I walked in there thinking it was going to be about $20. Nope... $34. I mentioned this to them at the register and I was told that if I don't like the prices they don't need my business. Well I'll tell ya what. For the same price or less.... I could have gone to Joey bs and actually got a good meal. If I was that desperate for a sandwich. I can call the country harvest and ask them to cut what I want and come pick it up. There wasn't even 1/4lb of meat on this "super sub" and they charged me $21 dollars for it AND didn't even make it with what I asked for! $21 bucks I could have made lobster or crab. Doesn't take much to throw that in some boiling water or under a broiler. I can't believe this place is still in business. I get it... prices on certain things went up. But they are using cheap cold cuts and barley using any. I would bet that their staff is still making the same measly minimum wage they were before unless they are taking care of the owner in ways that merits a little bit more. You can go to an all you can eat buffet for like $20 or for $34 get some hibachi. It's absurd. You can get Chinese food for 3 people for $34 instead of getting a crap sandwich and brown lettuce for 2.
