I'm currently doing my bedroom and bathroom floor over. I got the pleasure to work with Brian who is absolutely amazing, but all of the employees are so helpful and kind. I had no idea what to look for when I went into Tony"s Tiles. I walked around and Brian kindly offered his help. He didn't pressure me, he didn't rush me, he didn't make me feel bad for not knowing much about tiles. When I would 4 that I really liked he kindly offered for me to take samples home. Again, he didn't pressure me or try to make me lean one way or another, which I appreciated. He also wrote down the names of the tiles and dimensions which were helpful. When I was ready to place the order and finalize it, I wanted to confirm that the tiles I picked were the correct names of the tile. I called Brian again a week later just to confirm the names, and once again he was so patient and kind with me. I feel like other stores would've been annoyed for calling to recheck the names of tiles, but he wasn't at all! This is our second renovation, using Tony's for tile. Karen was exceptional. We did end up getting a much higher end tile (marble) than we had budgeted for but shame on us for being suckers for beauty. :) From a customer service standpoint, Karen was the best. We were dealing with four other vendors, (custom cabinets, bathroom fixtures, etc), and she was, by far, the most responsive and knowledgeable. That, to me, is worth the money. Tony's also usually has everything in stock, which is rare. Don't be fooled by the smaller storefront.... They have a warehouse a mile away. My only complaint was with the marble subway tile. We had to wait a few extra days to get enough from the same lot but when it was installed, it definitely wasn't from the same lot. Tiles from some boxes were 1/16'' off. It made the tiling job a bit of a nightmare. I'm not sure why the previous reviewer said she had an issue returning excess tile. Perhaps it was custom cut? You can absolutely return any extra, except tile you have custom cut for a bull nose edge, etc. read more

When my husband and I first entered Tony's we were pleased with the selection. Brian helped us see our options and was helpful when we told him what we wanted. When placing our order for backsplash tile we very clearly asked if we would be able to bring back the extra if there was any. We were assured by Brian that "yes" we would bring it back. Both my husband and I were there and heard this. Today I went to bring back the extra - and after my 9 month pregnant self and my toddler brought the tile to the counter we were told that "no", we would not be able to get money back on the extra. I'm extremely disappointed and feel that we were tricked into buying more than we needed based on our measurements and being told we would be able to bring it back. Tony's selection is nice, but I'm so disappointed with the customer service and the way I was treated today that I would not go back or recommend it. (They didn't even offer to help me carry it!!!) There are many other tile stores out there - go someplace that doesn't change policies on you! read more

Tonys Tile in Stoneham is fabulous!!! Best tile place around. Thank GOD someone told me about this place because there is no way I would have gotten the gorgeous bathroom I have, without their talent and the beautiful products they carry. I stepped in to the store, and immediately got overwhelmed looking at all the choices. It was very busy, a monday, after a long holiday. I didnt know who was the customer, who was the sales associate. After looking around, someone noticed my "glazed over, help me" look and said they will be right with me. I noticed once you got someone to help you, they were all yours. I eventually ended up being taken care of by Kerry. WOW!!! Kerry is super sweet and has AMAZING talents!. She made something so overwhelming, really easy for me I told Kerry all i know is what i like, but have no idea how to put it all together, and dont know if what i like is going to work together (others have poo pooed my ideas) Kerry brought me over to the most gorgeous tile. (it looks like real marble, just what i was picturing). As we talked and i told her more of what i like she drew a design to put it all together! And I could tell, she has great taste and would tell me if she didnt think it would work. She came up with ideas that I would have never thought of! (marble chair rail 1/2 way up, marble shower bench, 2 different shapes of tiles, the river rock that will flow well with the color choices, the color i should choose for my vanity, even the color of the grout!! Oh ya, AND paint colors for the walls that would go well with the look i wanted! I was so grateful. My bathroom is almost done, I am thrilled by how it is coming out and I owe it all to Kerry @ Tonys tile! After my first visit to Tonys, I did visit about 3 other tile places around to see what is out there. And what I noticed is Tonys tile carries products that are many steps above the competition. It is imported from Italy. I can even tell by the feel of it, much more comfortable under your feet. smooth but not slippery feeling. Your tile is so important, its everything in the room. I went to Tony's Imported Ceramic Tile in Stoneham AFTER already spending an hour and half at National Tile in North Reading picking out tile for four rooms in our new home. I wish I had just gone to Tony's in the first place. They truly saved me when National Tile randomly closed down for a week long vacation at the exact time that I needed to put my order in. Tony's has an absolutely beautiful selection of tile. I worked with Brian who is extremely knowledgeable and has a great eye. He was able to help me quickly recreate all of the tile choices I had already made and offered me some great improvements as well. I went in knowing what I wanted but really appreciated that Brian showed me what he would choose as well. Like I said, he has a great eye and I couldn't be happier with what I got. We went to Tony's tile in July 2017 and was warmly welcome, got lots of advice and finally bought marble for my 3 bathrooms and travertine subway tiles for our kitchen backsplash. The sales lady was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. We trusted the advice from the 'professional'. Our requirement were simple. We wanted our bathrooms to look bright and neat. Problems started when my contractor and I realized that marble sold (at least some of them) were not of quality we expected. The mosaic styled marble that was recommended for the shower floor and wall decorative were of a different grade and quality(but equally expensive). The edges were extremely uneven and jagged. They looked worn and eroded. We were unable to achieve a clean tidy installation though we had an extremely experienced installer. When we contacted the 'professional' we were told that there were many different types of marble and those that we were recommended for our walls and floor were different from that of the shower floor and wall decorative. They 'explained' why the marble were cut differently. Seriously? None of these were made known to us during recommendation phase. We were surprised that different type of marble were recommended for the same bathroom. Not only the cut was badly done, the color of these tiles also seems off. They don't really matched the rest of the marble in the bathroom. In addition, we ordered our marble vanity counter top through them too. The 'professional' was educated that we had polished marble for our master bathroom and honed marble for second bathroom. But the master bathroom vanity counter top ordered came honed while the backsplash all came with it came polished. Why??? We ended up having to hire a professional to have it polished at additional cost. In total we ordered more than 5,000$ material but we were left alone when we started facing quality issues. Even our contractor was not able to have them visit our house to see for themselves. We were finally proposed a small discount if we wanted to buy more tiles ... No, thank you... we were extremely disappointed and definitely we do not recommend this place. We had way better experience with National Tile in Reading. read more

When my contractor went to pick up my tile, they didn't have it. Did I mention that I had already PAID for it. I was told "it's just tile". I response that says it all and minimizes the time it took in choosing it and the fact that my project is now held up while i try to find a tile (somewhere else, of course). I have nothing but great things to say about Tony's Tile. I got my tile's for both of my renovated bathrooms here. The staff is friendly, but obviously if you come on a weekend this place is a bit of a zoo, so be patient. They also are happy to give you samples too, which makes seeing what things would look like at home much easier. Definitely worth the stop in. read more

I went to Tony's after recommendations from coworkers with hesitation since contractors reported them difficult to deal with. I was in store for 10 or 15 minutes looking before a salesperson approached me. It would probably have been better if she hadn't. How is it possible that I am the first person to review Tony's! This place is unbelievable! We recently had to renovate our master bath and had a terrible time trying to find a tile that we loved. Someone suggested we visit Tony's Tile and were were so glad we did. Beautiful Italian tiles at reasonable prices. The set-up makes it very easy to see coordinating tiles, not to mention they have several actual displays of installed tiles so you are not just looking at tile in a box. This makes it very easy to visualize how a tile might look, or to get ideas. We liked one display so much, we actually chose that tile, and borrowed their color scheme for the vanity and granite countertop! When my wife told me we were going to look at tiles one afternoon I tried my best to schedule a last minute root canal or colonoscopy. I mean if it was just one room then I would have been cool, but we were looking for tile selections for an entire house. All I can say is that the salesperson, Kerry, made the whole ordeal as painless as possible. She was very organized in walking us thru are selections. My issues have been resolved so returning this to a higher rating. ____ I regret that I must amend my original review and reduce my rating due to a situation that I've been trying to come to some sort of a resolution / compromise on since August. I ordered fireplace stone in August based on a sample. What came in was entirely different. The best analogy I can give is ordering a pair of new winter white pants and receiving a pair of dirty leopard pants. The contract was, indeed, striking. Needless to say, I did not accept the order. But as of December, I've seen no sign of credit on my AMX -- and that's to the tune of $2,193. Needless to say, my initially good experience is souring by the day, week and month. Not cool. __ I admittedly don't like working with all home improvement vendors and can be pretty critical. But I LOVE Tony's Tile, where superb customer service is a well-practiced art. My husband and I are currently trying to tackle tile and stacked stone for an entire house so not trivial. Working with Tony's -- and with Kerry specifically -- has made it all seem doable without compromising on style (and easier than doing a single bathroom with "another tile place in Danvers"). What's more, it's great that many of the items are in stock so it's quick to get started and feasible to return surplus. read more

When I stopped in for bathroom tile I was swiftly informed, and I quote: "You're not going to find what you want." I found exactly what I wanted at a competitor just a few minutes away. Three stars for a previous good experience a couple years ago (when said competitor told me green wasn't "in" this season - how often are people re-tiling their bathrooms, exactly?) But seriously, in the internet age, it's unforgivable to tell me what I want doesn't exist just because you don't bother to stock it. I'd already seen what I wanted online. In the parking lot, on my phone, I found the exact make and a local place that stocked it. As soon as the other place opened, I got my color samples and was done. I should really drop it to two stars for some "advice" about materials that was simply not factual, but I guess I'm feeling generous. read more

While Tony's did a beautiful kitchen granite installation in our new home, years later we suddenly noticed a drop at the seam of two granite slabs that were once perfectly seamless. We contacted the Boston Globe's "Handyman On Call" who stated that "either the shim decayed or dropped... any company worth it's reputation would repair this". We discovered the shim (a wood support leveling the granite pieces) broken in two pieces under our kitchen cabinet. We contacted "Tony" who took all of my phone calls (AT LEAST 6), each time promising to contact us the following week when his installer was in the area. Tony's INITIAL response was to have my husband install it! We later included a request for a counter polishing (a paid service) to be done while the installer was here. We had his company do a polishing in the past. It's now 8 MONTHS LATER and we've given up. It's unfortunate that Tony set an expectation to address the problem, yet obviously had no intention to ever do so. While we would have recommended this company in the past, we will no longer. It is unfortunate that "Tony's Imported Ceramic Tile" does not honor it's commitment to it's customers. read more

Went there by our contractor's recommendation. Quite good selection of products and most of them in stock. Staff was very helpful on picking up right tile. We went back again with part of our bathroom cabinet and shower fixture color sample etc and picked up very different tile than originally I picked. My only complaint is they don't have website, very hard to get info like opening hours. During summer they changed hour little bit and tried to call store quite a few times today after 6pm. I was hoping answering machine might tell store hours. To my disappointment phone just kept ringing. Hopefully they'll do something about it soon. read more

There were several beautiful stones to choose from, and the prices were quite affordable compared to the competition. After choosing a beautiful tile for my backsplash from a sample provided @ Tony's Tile I then had the tile installed by a man recommended by them who was great. Unfortunately once the tile was installed it took on an ENTIRELY different color which does not match my kitchen...not even a little!! I complained to Rich and said I wanted the manufacturer to come and view the EXTRAORDINARY difference in color and was told that they generally don't do that--well I thank them for my hideous backsplash and I feel I should've been warned by Tony's Tile that once installed that a tile can take on COMPLETELY different colors than the sample provided by them. I've used Tony's Tile in the past for kitchen/bathroom floors and had no problem. BEWARE of ALL samples that have a mix of colored glass & stone as they MOST LIKELY will NOT look like their original samples!!! I now have to either live with it for a while or rip it all down.....WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT---the ONLY good part of the whole experience was discovering a fantastic tile guy named Joe Dimino!!! read more
