I've gone to Toni a few times to have hair extensions installed well I'm in Maine...this is not my first experience with extensions or Toni so take what I'm about to say in this review seriously because the overpriced service and poor execution from Toni is consistent and could end up costing you your natural hair. Toni charges $200 for a BASIC sew in...legit like 4-5 tracks..no take down,no cut, no style,no wash (wash area is filthy- wouldn't want a wash)...JUST install. She gets away with this because there's only like one other stylist in the area that does sew in and not tape in extensions-anyways when she installed my hair she just braided one side then the other side and secured them together in the middle of my head with cheap rubber bands - why she didn't braid a full secure braid across and sew a knot to secure is beyond me...and I wasn't aware that's how she was installing.. so she then installed the 3 bundles of raw Cambodian 30inch hair AND double wefted the hair onto these poorly weak braids. Making is very heavy on already a weak foundation from her lack of effort... lazy -half a$$ - crook- whatever..you know what it is if you know hair. * I didn't buy this hair from Toni - I paid $900 Within 2 wks I had wefts hanging and falling out.. because her lazy rubber band method broke down after one blow dry! If she asked me if it was alright to use rubber bands instead of a proper Crochet knot I would have asked her if it was okay if I paid 50$ for the service seeing how that's a HUGE change in quality and longevity ... honesty I would have taken my hair and ran out the door. She offers to have you come in an pay a "small fee" to have your tracks tightened... but what she means is come in and pay her $30 something dollars to change or replace the 99cent rubber bands she used. My hair was already falling out... A professional install requires special KNOTS to secure the braid so the hair weft can then be properly and securely sewn to your head- NO rubber bands to secure a foundation alone period. If this is not done properly it will end up putting extra stress on your natural hair resulting in massive breakage at the root. She secured heavy long wefts on insecure braid connected with rubber bands in the middle where the most tension and weight is . SMH she's been in this business a long time and YES she's knows better - Not a rookie My hair bundles and her basic sew in service= $1150 and lasted less than 2wks AND caused substantial damage to my natural hair....seriously considered small claims court for the damage it caused my natural hair but Rona hit- And I just will never go back and sharing my true experience-save your money time and hair by taking the drive to MA CT NY and skip Toni read more

Very wide range of closures, bundles, pony wraps, etc. I've never had services done there so I can't comment on that, but is is my go to for a special occasion closure! They're always so sweet when I go in, Andrea is my favorite and we share the same name! I always check here first for my haircare needs. Only downside and loss of star is a lack of clip in/tape in extensions. I wish y'all had them, then you would be deserving of all 5! keep up the good customer service. read more

I had been going here for over 14 years but after this week I won't be returning. The shop used to be decent, but the service has declined over the years substantially. Although the service wasn't as great as it had been, I tried giving Toni's the benefit of the doubt that they would one day improve since like I said, I had been going there for years and also in Maine it's hard to find ANYONE who can work on ethnic hair. Over the past several years I've had some pretty poor experiences, for example: -I was once charged 3 times for my hair cut because Toni had gotten a new system and kept swiping my card because she didn't know if it had gone through. After I was charged three times the amount, I was told by Toni that after she refunded me I could come back down to Portland to pay her once she returned from her hair show (I live an hour away and not to mention, this was her fault and I was left with over draft fees to deal with) -My boyfriend and I had booked an appointment once for 2 pm and we waited for almost an hour before Toni came in (mind you the shop was empty other than the receptionist) she was unapologetic and told us she had left for her lunch break. -At the Saco location I had booked an appointment to get my hair colored. The woman who had taken on the appointment had no experience with ethnic hair (Toni told me this AFTER the fact) and she fried my hair. Toni did not offer a refund or even an apology. -I booked an appointment for a hair relaxer when they had their Saco location opened. After waiting some time, I was told that they put me down for an eye brow wax and wouldn't be able to see me today because they were working on dreads. Once again, unapologetic to the fact that I had booked an appointment and had driven all this way to be told I wouldn't get to be seen today. (It was shortly after this I began to relax my own hair at home). The last incident I dealt with was this past Wednesday. I had called over a week an advanced and asked if I could book an appointment for Monday the 16th after 330 for a trim. I asked for Toni because every time I get someone else a simple trim turns into them doing all these extra things I never asked for and therefore I am charged extra for services I didn't request. I was told Toni was not in on Monday's. I was asked if Tuesday worked and I said I was unable to. They had an opening for Wednesday and I was told to come in for 330. The day of my appointment I couldn't find parking and I had called about 8 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start to tell them I was having trouble finding parking and I might be late. I was told they couldn't find me in the book but I should be able to get in soon. Once I got in the shop I wasn't greeted until almost 10 minutes after waiting awkwardly. I was told that I would be seen soon after I was seated. More than 40 minutes later I still hadn't been seen and I walked out. No apology was given, no communication at all really. I am done with Toni's. UPDATE: Toni's has blocked me from their page after trying to contact them via Facebook messenger. Terrible customer service, it really says a lot when an owner would rather ignore you than to try and fix an issue. I've had multiple issues over the years and not once has it been made right. Driving an hour out of your way for an appointment just to be turned away for the up tenth time is unacceptable. Whoever had been in charge of answering phones over the past few years seriously needs to be replaced and Toni should really figure out how to run her business a little better considering how these issues are on going. People are paying you for a service, it isn't ok to expect your customers to wait for you and change their plans around to accommodate you because you're incapable of running your business smoothly. read more

Stylist highly recommend herself throughout the day which was obviously loooonnnggggg. I don't know if she intentionally took advantage of this white momma with her AA daughter and did a hack job at a typical and premium price or if she honestly thought braids just stay without any loop knot or ANYTHING to prevent gravity... took days of us rebraiding and securing each braid on our own. Not a good first impression. I made a 10am appointment here on yelp which was confirmed by the barber. I arrived at 9:45am only to realize that the barber hadn't arrived; moreover, he had a 9:30am apt who was waiting as well. I work a second shift job so timing is very crucial. I am not impressed with Toni's Touch. I believe there is some potential here, but not for natural haired women seeking natural styling. I enjoy how simple the online booking system is. I booked the earliest thing open on a Saturday (8am) for a simple wash, trim, and press. The receptionist called me on Wednesday (and had me wait for her to finish her current conversation...unprofessional) to tell me they only had 4pm open. I was annoyed at the poor phone service, so I simply cancelled. A couple weeks later I tried again. Friday evening, 5pm, wash, trim, two strand twist. They had me waiting in the shop for a good 40 minutes before Toni even acknowledged me (note: the receptionist told me it would only be a few minutes, and that's all the interaction I had). I was really about to walk out when the seat opened up. She said she was behind because they had recently re-painted and rearranged the shop and the clocks haven't been hung up. I don't take that as a reasonable excuse, but since I was there and I waited I continued to let her do my hair. I have natural, afro-textured hair, and rule number 1 is to always detangle while hair is soaked in conditioner. She did a dry detangle with a fine-toothed comb, and also trimmed it right there on the spot. Luckily my hair was stretched out, or it would have been painful. I've never had my hair trimmed while curly--it's usually washed and blown out first. I fear that I will have to get another trim to even out what was done, but hopefully I'm wrong. The wash and twist were okay. Not the best twists I've gotten, but still better than I would have done myself. Pros: -- She works on one head at a time. I can't count how many shops I've been to that book 3 or 4 people at once. -- The girl before me got a weave and it looked really nice. -- There is a good selection of braiding hair and wigs. -- Because she was running late she had to close late, and she didn't try to rush on my hair. -- Online booking + your card being on file when you made the appointment so payment is simple One Minor Con: -- Verbal tipping. Normally when you swipe your card you can privatly decide what you want to tip, but since my card was int he system, the receptionist took care of my payment on the spot. Then she asked me to say my tip so she could enter it into the system. It's awkward. In all honesty, I will not be back to get my hair done, but perhaps I'll buy hair here in the future. 2.5 stars (so 3.... I guess) for it being more than just a hair salon--even if it is lacking professionalism. read more

Tonis touch is an absolute amazing place it always has a great environment and the workers are incredibly nice and extremely talented I couldn't imagine getting my hair done anywhere else if you want anything done from an awesome line up by there great barbers to stunning braids by Toni herself then tonis touch is the place for you I highly recommend and promise you will be extremely please by the service and atmosphere they give off!!!!!!! read more

Had a great guy there give me and my basketball team mohawks. This was the only place that could professionally do designs in our hair too.
