They were open when it was allowed and were following the protocols. They had an opening with Kayla, who I knew so thought, let's do it. Due to COVId street parking is a bit easier, but do plan ahead for parking. Once we return to a new normal. They ask you the standards questions and you enter with a mask and you wash your hands. Kayla was great. We discussed options and she got to work. We had good conversation and in no time the cut was over. I like that she gave me a cool textured look on top and it's been always to style since I left. The space is great. Spacious and decorated with old signs, and knick knacks. Pretty cool. You pay over the phone so there is limited touch. It's pretty cool. My usual stylist moved, so needed to find someone new. Sad to change but happy with what I found. Went in for a clean up and after talking with Sierra she made a few suggestions and being open to possibilities, I said "let's do it!" Immediately, I knew I was going to like it. Sierra is so positive and it was a great experience. A Bang Experience. I love my hair and the suggestions for hair care and style options just added to the experience. You just got to give it a try. A friend recommended I try Dathan Hunter Salon so I stopped by and checked it out, it's in a great spot in the downtown area, there is parking nearby and some of my favorite shops too. The salon was modern and clean and they had adorable dogs so I made an appointment with Ilyana. I ran a little late for my appointment but they forgave me, I enjoyed the experience and Ilyana did a fantastic job picking up where my previous stylist left off and my hair looks better than ever. I made my next appointment before I left and am delighted to have found a new spot for getting all prettied up.

She told me exactly what she was doing as she cut my hair. How considerate of her. She took her time and nailed the style. She gave me great instructions on using a diffuser with curl-defining cream. (It's a great product, it was not a hard sell) I would have never thought to try it on my very straight hair. The scalp massage with shampoo felt amazing! There were other women in the salon, I was very impressed by their color and cuts. I have several acquaintances who use this salon. Their hair always looks great. The salon has a nice vibe, it's clean and stylish. Dathan and Ilyana are warm and friendly. It was a pleasure to get a cut. The shop is very convenient to the ferry if you live on the islands. A big plus for me! The price was reasonable.

Not that there was anything wrong at my last place, but once you find a hair stylist that you truly trust - going to the salon becomes so much less stressful. Aimee is an amazing stylist! She listens and remembers what you like and don't like. She also isn't just thinking of your style on that visit but how to improve it each time going forward. I have dark hair and have always wanted lighter highlights (lowlights - I don't know - see, this is why I need Aimee). She has helped get my hair to the right color so that it accepts the lighter shades without looking like Bozo. In addition to Aimee, the salon itself is bright and cheerful. All of the employees there are welcoming and kind. They offer an amazing array of products too. Highly recommend Aimee and Tove.
