I love Toni's! This restaurant has a nice selection of Mexican food. I enjoy the tasty vegetarian options- the veggie flat tostada is my favorite. The perfect find for us after a local hike while visiting for the weekend. Super friendly service, great beer selection and delicious salsa. We ordered the Santa Monica blonde ale on draft which was ice cold and paired perfectly w our meal. We split the fajita burrito w shrimp, and a side of guac. I have no complaints. This was our second visit within about as many months just to be sure the first visit wasn't just an off night but alas, we were right and have removed it from our list of go to places in the mountains Our first visit was a group of 5 on a Friday night and I certainly didn't plan for a speedy meal and wasn't disappointed by the lack of attention or indifference offered by either of the waitresses, the waiter on the otherhand is a delight and eager to help when he has the time. The food on our first visit was the standard fair, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc and certainly nothing beyound unremarkable at best with everyone concluding it wasn't all that great. Marginal food combined with inattentive waitstaff is always a disaster for a poor review. On our second visit the service from the waiter was awesome when he could spare the time but again, the lone waitress wasn't intetested in being there and was very indifferent to the patrons seated in the restaurant. The food this time around was almost inedible. I had the taco, enchilada and tamale combo dinner and everything on the plate tasted as if it just came out of a salt brine bath and the oil was just oozing out of my cheese enchilada. Not very sexy to be sure. My girlfriend had the carne asada dinner plate and other than being tough, it to was also very salty. I'm not sure what the problem was that night but everything tasted as if a big bag of salt exploded in the kitchen and no one bothered to clean it up. We won't be going back and will look elsewhere for our Mexican food fix while in the mountains. read more

My mother left her phone on the table when back 20 mins later. They had it safe behind the counter. It's nice to see honest people these days. This was the only Mexican food place we found in Crestline California. This place has balcony outdoor seating overlooking the lake. There is also plenty of in door seating with a sunroom overlooking the lake and main road. I ordered the Caldo de Camaron (Shrimp Soup) comes with chopped onions, cilantro, lime and corn tortillas. The bowls are in the smaller size and the soups run from $9.99 to $18.00 Prices are definitely touristy prices (higher) The food was good in general and the staff was very pleasant. read more

The place is really crowded. Cooks are working shoulder to shoulder with no masks on their faces and no gloves. Sweat pouring down them. Bins with dirty dishes all over the floor in pick up area and on top of Stacked cases of beer. Outside dining area is crowded. Very chaotic. Flyers to wear masks And social distance posted but no one wearing masks and tables are really close together. It's impossible to social distance . Food is REALLY salty! Prices are high but that's due to the mountains most likely, portion sizes are tiny aside from the tacos being slightly bigger, the food is pretty similar to a bad del taco or el pollo loco and they are pretty skimpy on the meat. Honestly though Del taco has more flavor but at least they are somewhat friendly here and the view is decent. I gave a 2 because I finally found something that tastes good which is the el pastor taco. To all those talking about huge portions please say what you get I've gotten something different every time I've been and not seen one yet. read more

We arrived 45 minutes earlier than closing time with only 2 people and they refused to serve us because they were "slow earlier" and decided to close about an hour earlier than advertised. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED by their customer service and will never try to eat here again. read more

We ordered taquitos on the appetizers list and not only were they bland but they gave us a teaspoon dollop of guacamole on each plate!! We presented a coupon that we bought on restaurant.com and they wouldn't take the coupon because they said it wasn't their's. It even had their address on it and a number to call but they wouldn't even call the number to find out if it was legit. They said they got one from another customer and when they called the number that time, it rang and rang and no one answered. They wouldn't even TRY it with us!! They kept asking us over and over again if we were ready to order., which was very annoying and when we DID and got our food, the waitress disappeared! We were so disappointed that they wouldn't take the coupon and disappointed with the food and service, that we won't be returning to this place. The service is slow, but everything else is great. Come on a weeknight and it's quite empty! I was very pleasantly surprised with the food. I normally expect small towns to have garbage-quality food that is enjoyed by all the locals, because they've never eaten good food. But this place was great. I got a dinner combo plate with a pork tamale, cheese enchilada, and chili relleno, and it was a lot of food for about $14. My husband got a California burrito (carne asada, avocado, French fries) for around $10, covered in green sauce. Both dishes had great flavor, and even the rice and beans tasted good and weren't mushy or soupy or whatever else they normally are at typical Mexican restaurants. Some of the best tasting Mexican food I have ever had! And when you order cheese enchiladas, you get a TON of cheese - almost too much cheese if that is even possible!
