This little joint in Crestline has some really great dishes. We popped by for dinner, sat outside on the patio to enjoy the perfect night air. We weren't expecting much. It's a no frills place. But our server, BD, guided us to a few very delicious items. I had a quesadilla, which she suggested I fill with their marinated, shredded beef. Wow, soooo delicious! Cute restaurant directly across the street from the lake. They have a large outdoor patio, a smaller indoor dining room and a back enclosed patio. Parking is limited so if you're lucky, you'll snag one on in the lower parking area or in the very small upper lot. There is street parking but that's hit or miss so don't pass up an open spot of you find one. We had a large party of 14 adults and 2 children so we were thrilled that they were able to accommodate us and even seat us together at one long table on the back patio. I was a little concerned that service might be slow since some of the reviews mentioned that. My daughter and I had to leave in 2 hours to head to the airport to catch our flight back home. The seating was pretty tights. One long table with very little room to squeeze out if anyone needed to get up. Luckily we didn't encounter any "issues". Service was friendly and not at all slow considering we weren't the only guests in the place. Our servers were very nice (took 3 of them) and brought out chips and salsa right away. The menu is robust making it hard for 14 hungry people to choose just the right selection. Everyone ordered something different which was great. A little something for everyone. Chips & Salsa - Really good! Chips were fried perfectly and the salsa was delicious. Chicken Enchilada plate - Huge! You get 3 enchiladas, beans and rice. Comes with guac and sour cream. I thought these were really really good. Would totally order them again. Chicken Flautas = crispy little bites of yumminess. Bean and cheese Burrito - HUGE. My cousin said it was really good. Chicken Fajita burrito w/red & green sauce - another huge portion and very tasty. I don't remember what anyone else got but the conscious was everyone (with the exception of one) loved their choices. So let's talk about the HUGE FAIL that one of my cousins ordered. First of all ... this is not a fresh seafood place and he should have known better. BUT ... what he ordered should never ever have left the kitchen. Fish Soup (can't remember the actual name of it) - Filled with crab, shrimp and fish in a red broth. Sounded delicious when you read the description on the menu. My cousin asked the server if the fish was fresh. RED FLAG when the answer is "I really like it". Notice he didn't answer the "fresh" question. Well it was very apparent that the fish in this soup was not fresh for quite some time. When the bowl came to the table it took our breath away. Literally. The odor was so pungent that it almost made my eyes water and my poor daughter was gagging. My cousin instantly sent it right back down the table to the server and asked her to take it away because it was not edible. Unfortunatly that kinda killed our experience a little bit. The server looked a little irritated that it was going back to the kitchen but oh well. Better she get upset instead of him having food poisoning later. Over all, this is actually a great place that I would totally come back to. Service was attentive, fast and courteous. 99% of our dishes were excellent and I would order again. The 1% was the soup. So my STRONG suggestion is that you NOT order the seafood anything here. "Fresh" is not something they offer. The best part is that the restaurant faces the lake so you get a great view, really good food and hopefully wonderful memories. read more

So disappointed in this place. Never had a problem until today. Waited over an hour for cold soups. The albóndiga soups had a paper wrapper in it and my tortilla soup had a French fry. The shrimp enchiladas was extremely salty. So disgusting. Extremely disappointed will never eat here again. read more

We've been coming to Tony's for many years and it never disappoints. Our go to is the molcajete and aguachiles for two, and of course a tasty Tony's Especial michelada. The owner is also an excellent host. If he's not in the back preparing delicious cuisine, he's running tables and interacting with guests. This is by far the best restaurant on the mountain. The employees are all so welcoming, and the food is authentic Mexican food. The chimichanga was amazing and the chips and salsa was very fresh! It used to be one of our favorites, in the BC (before Covid) days. It's in a wonderful location, but all the ambiance is outdoors now, sitting inside is like sitting in the kitchen, which was very loud with yelling. The owner/manager brought our food. He tossed my hot plate onto the table with a third of it hanging over the edge. I had to use my napkin to move it in front of me. I had a taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. No flavor in anything! Watery beans, old tasting rice, tasteless sauce and cheese. My husband ordered the shrimp cocktail for $18. It was just basic shrimp, onion, and tomato with a little cilantro. I tasted it. NO flavor. I know I'm older and I'm used to service being a thing. Not anymore, and certainly not at Toni's for lunch. A little girl was serving the chips and salsa, so that was cute, but is that just cost cutting and babysitting? Not going back. read more

Going up to crestline we saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I thought the food was average but I did appreciate how much meat was in our tacos. I was pretty disappointed with the customer service here. It was a little busy when we went but it took them 10+ mins to get our order and that is when we asked someone if we could order. There were two families that came in that knew the owners so the waiters where only helping them and ignored the other customers on the patio. Our food didn't take to long but we had to flag down a waitress once again to get more chips and drinks. It wasn't the best experience here for the cost of the meal. read more

Worst food i've had in a long time. The service was bad as well. Ordered red chili burrito, empanadas, and two tacos. Took almost an hour to get our food. WATCH OUT FOR OVERCHARGING! Do not leave without out checking your bill, we had a group of 7 with 4 separate bills and 3 of the 4 bills were overcharged by $6-$8. No apologies for it either. The reason for 2 stars is due to their lack of customer service and inconsistent carnitas. Several separate orders resulted in several different experiences, never knew quite what we would get but we kept chasing the dragon because we had delicious carnitas once upon a time. The last straw was when we placed a to-go order for 6 tacos and a plate of beans, they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We showed up about 25 minutes later and was told our food would be right up. 10 minutes go by, then 20 -- I'm growing concerned but am reassured it'll be right out. Turns out they lost the ticket and had to take my order again, what a waste of time and money. You're better off buying some meat at Goodwins and making tacos at home read more
