When driving from the DMV it feels like the right thing to do to avoid all those highway backups, but in reality, it's not good for your bladder. I was nearing bursting on a stretch of road and was ready to pull over at the first gas station that I saw. At that point, I had no idea where I was or how far I had gotten. I had tuned out the GPS because my eyes were glued to the road to find a bathroom. I finally came out of a tree lined stretch of road and saw the illumination of a gas station. Wawa. Not necessarily my first choice, but I was happy to see the awning once around the trees. Pulled in, parked, nearly ran inside straight to the restroom. Now the one thing that all Wawas seem to lack is their cleanliness of their facilities. I don't know what people do, or don't do, in these restrooms, but they look like the ones you would find in a horror movie. Ones where they have been trashed beyond comprehension. Like how is it that the walls have paint rubbed off of it. All you need is flickering lights and you're set to be the next victim in the upcoming Wawa horror movie. Listen, even though the facilities were not presentable, I still needed to use them. All that horror makeup of the facilities faded away as my bladder returned to E. Outside the facilities, this isn't a bad Wawa. They still do have a lot to offer. I'm still not happy with their food, but I do like the swift convenience offered at the counter. Grab a drink, go to the counter, ask for an item and I was outside. With a lot of my car rides back home I always need to stretch my legs before I get back in the car. I was able to take in a phone call at the same time. While outside, I noticed that this place wasn't very busy this time of day, very early in the morning. If only that could be the case all the time.

No matter what I order, it actually feels like it was just made, not sitting around getting cold. That alone makes a huge difference. I also really appreciate that I've never gotten sick from their food. It's clear they take cleanliness and food handling seriously, which is something you don't always get with fast food places. It gives me peace of mind ordering from there. On top of that, the food just tastes really good. Whether it's their sandwiches, apps, or late night snacks, it always hits. It's one of those places you can rely on when you want something quick but still satisfying. Overall, Sheetz has been super consistent for me hot food, no issues, and great taste every time.

That's what happened this time around. If it wasn't for taking an alternative route, I probably wouldn't have even known this location existed. When I reach Frederick I know I'm anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour away. Which is usually about when I need to stretch the legs and get myself to a restroom. Thankfully the familiar red awning showed ahead of me and I knew I would be able to make a quick stop here. Pulled in, found a spot to park, and headed inside. Used the facilities, decently clean, and then browsed the store. I ended up getting my sweet tea and a pack of smokes before returning outside. To me, this location feels tucked away and mostly serves those in the community more so than the travelers on the highway. Which isn't a bad thing.

Sheetz - I suppose I should not have asked for hot sauce. There's more flour, cold flour, tortilla, or flattened biscuit than protein.

I had to get out of my car, stretch my legs, grab a drink, and just be out of the car. I had no idea that this location even existed. I was as surprised as anyone else. I like how this location is nestled in there. When I say that, I mean the road on the back side of the building. That road is welcoming compared to the main stretch that this faces. After being at another location of the birthplace of Sheetz and coming upon a location that still had fresh brewed iced tea I was still in hopes that not all locations switched over to the dispenser. However, I was not in luck at this location. I was greeted by that disgusting Gold Peak dispenser again. I did end up grabbing some food to go home on. Even if it was without their sweet nectar. But back to the location, this made for an easy off/on the highway for me. Or, if I wanted to waste more time, I could take the backroads from here to make it home.

Free air, cheap gas and a good place to stop for a fill up. Yeah these Sheetz guy approves.
