What a great service! This family owned business gets the toughest stains out, is fast, friendly and can handle what you give them. I always give them at least 10 pieces and they finish it in 2-3 days. If they need more days, they tell me and I'm ok with it! They are extremely friendly and they are really kind! They can handle any stain, too! I give them dresses with rhinestones or other clothes with tough stains, and they get them out. I wish this family nothing but success! read more

If you need dry cleaning or taylor services please do NOT support Toms cleaners on euclid and plum. These people that own it charged me almost $300 to alter a couple dress pants and jacket and didnt do half of them. When i went back they said they forgot to charge me and wanted me to repay. I been using their services for a while but the stains never come out and constantly a different price. They were calling me a liar and saying the pants were never brought there. But when i showed them the reciept they were speechless. I can deal with mistakes but i dont like money hungry cheap business owners who screw their customers over. Sincetely read more

After moving to the Palatine area, I needed a new dry cleaner. From searching on Yelp, I found Tom's Cleaners out of the many results. I brought in ~20 articles (shirts, dresses, tops, etc), and because I like to live life on the edge, I also included my *favorite* dress. I was greeted by Tom himself -- he was super polite and diligently sorted through my pile while acknowledging my "omg this is my favorite dress plz be careful!!!!" request. Also gave me a 10% first timer discount, what a champ. I was a bit late in picking up the items (they're closed on Sundays), and when I went inside, Tom remembered me -- "ah, we missed you Saturday!". He also had discovered that he accidentally overcharged me for an extra set of pants, and remedied that with a pants credit for next time. Whoops, I hadn't even noticed the overcharge, and I appreciate his honesty. **Overall** * Prices: are very reasonable, and Tom includes 20% coupons for future services. I do wish he had the prices listed somewhere outside the computer system. * Quality: excellent. A prominent stain was removed from my dress, and my delicate silk tops were carefully hung on foam hangers. Some even had tissue inside for extra protection. * Convenience: great! I asked that two new bedspreads be pressed to get wrinkles out. Wrinkles were still in fabric when I went to pick them up. Tom said it was because of the way they were made. I had pressed the small matching shams at home and the wrinkles came out. He made no offer to correct problem. I will not go back and do not recommend this establishment because they do not stand by their work or notify the customer if it can not be done. He could have contacted me when he realized he could not get wrinkles out. read more

After going to Tom's twice and using a coupon both times, Tom told me to go to a different cleaners. It's too bad that if I were willing to overpay and not use a coupon he would be willing to clean my clothes. Don't ever question Tom's overpriced pricing while Tom laughs all the way to the bank and he'll keep you as a customer. Sunmade Cleaners in Palatine charges $1.25 for laundered shirts. For way less money, they'll actually treat you like you're the owner. read more

So a while back my grandma took me here to get my coat cleaned. Well, we walk in, she gives her name, and they pull up a shirt she had left with them three years prior and forgot about. They held onto her shirt for THREE YEARS. That's incredible! Kept it, it wasn't tossed. Was still very clean and fresh after just being there for three years. Most importantly, I think the pricing is reasonable. This is important because there are roughly 67 dry cleaners around this area. But Tom's is great. The woman behind the counter is incredibly friendly, gives treats to kids, cleaning done in a timely fashion and everything looks good. Went here for the first time last Saturday 12/26 (since Inverness Cleaners was closed--which really pissed me off, since I've been using them for over a decade); I had job interviews and parties happening the following week, so I needed several of my Armani, Hugo Boss and Brooks Brothers Suits plus a bunch of dress shirts drycleaned, etc. They got everything done for me -as promised- the following Monday afternoon. There was a horrible snow storm that day-complete with car accidents up and down Plum Grove Road-so, even though Tom's Cleaners were planning on closing earlier than their normal 7 pm closing time due to those conditions outside, they were nice enough to stay open a bit longer so that I could pick up my suits and shirts. For this awesome service experience, I think I'll coming here from now on for my drycleaning needs. Just a little tip though: during holiday weeks or in the event of bad weather, I highly recommend calling them first to confirm what time they will close that day! read more

I saw good reviews about this place, and decided to give it a try. Went okay for 8 months or so; nothing out of the ordinary, but Tom seemed a nice enough guy. I was only going for the purpose of ironing, and generally my shirts came back pressed, as any other place would do. (Tom's is close and convenient for me). Tried alterations on pants once; that did not work out at all. Decided to cut ties with this place after they returned my shirts, and one had a large hole in the sleeve. Tom tried to tell me it was because the elbow was worn out. The shirt was hardly ever worn, and the place with the hole did not line up in any way with my elbow. Tom took absolutely no responsibility for this, and had the nerve to still make me pay for ironing the shirt which was ruined. Completely lacking in common sense. Instead of not making me pay, and keeping a customer, he ruined a shirt, lost this customer for good, and earned himself this review. read more
