You may or may not be aware of the situation that happened on campsite #9, well known as the "golf course", and what happened to the couple that purchased and renovated the campsite (fully remodeling the whole camper) Let me tell you... I had the pleasure of meeting them at Cedar Hills and watching the transformation of their campsite Mid-September Dennis & James (Jimbo) Sohol sold the camper to a woman named, Tami. This quickly became her dream! And Zak helped by gutting the moldy camper as it was severely damaged by mice infestation, repairing way more than they expected with water damage but flipping the camper and making it look amazing! Well conveniently after the camper was almost complete Dennis changed his mind and said the camper isn't for sale anymore!!! WHAT! At Cedar Hills Halloween party Dennis pulled Zak aside and told him the camper wasn't for sale anymore he requested receipts and would reimburse for the bldg materials & the $1,000 down payment. but he would not pay for labor for their time!!! It was a total of $2,088.71 I know so many people at Cedar Hills stopped by to see the campsite, ask about the golf course, they worked hard as they were so excited to enjoy the newly remodeled camper and view! Tami & Zak gave Dennis receipts and he has been going back and forth with them saying he doesn't remember his conversations, constantly changing his mind on what he says!! I stopped by the campsite to see their progress a few weeks ago and they surely turned that campsite around. They would "light up" as they showed you everything they had done. It didn't even look the same as it had prior! All of the neighbors were excited and so many people were happy at Cedar Hills to hear about the renovation! There was a lot of talk if they were still going to let people use the golf course! This breaks my heart even more listening to this story so I want to start a Go Fund Me Page to get their $2,088.71 back (they have receipts for everything!) Please please please pass this around Cedar Hills and let's come together as a community and help Tami & Zak get their money back!!!! Shame on you Dennis! We ordered the fish fry with Mac and cheese and elote. The fish was amazing! Super crispy and fresh. They had a couple preparation options to choose from. The Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty however I wish they advertised it as spicy. Maybe I missed that but I was surprised it was! The elote was also pretty good. It was served with a roll and coleslaw. Plenty of food for the price! I would eat a fish fry here again!!

Parking is good with a overflow parking right across the street. Also to note, service is spotty there. I always rent equipment and have never had any big issues. Quality and upkeep is pretty good. The prices can get high on the weekends, but usually specials on the weekdays. This resort has no frills and extra fancy things, just a spot to do some shredding. The lodge is very snack and like stadium food setting. I will say depending on the season and snow trend, the slopes can get pretty icy, but overall the hills are well maintained. The 'beginners' slope is pretty good for practicing and you can get up and down fast with the conveyor belt railing. The trails in general are on the shorter side but are still challenging and diverse for all levels.

(Racism?)We got off the phone and sent an email to cancel our request and refund the fee. She sent back an email that the fee was not refundable! We replied that we expected her to refund it since we never received a confirmation and had no reservation. A credit appeared on our credit card the next day but then was removed and the charge remained. We have filed a dispute with our credit card company and will also be contacting the STate of WIsconsin. DO NOT do business with this woman.

Pit toilets, a fire pit and bench at each campsite, and a river, that's it for amenities. Jerome can't make a living on 30 diary and 50 beef cattle with his brother and wife working outside their regular 40 hour jobs to keep the farm going. "A thousand cattle farm nearby is closing, so how can anyone make it? There are no young people here." If you want to stay, just show up and let yourself in. The gate is never locked. Jerome doesn't have a cell phone or computer and usually isn't home to answer the landline phone. "I live in the Stone Age," says the guy with a stone barn on a stone bluff in a town named Rock. Jerome will find you before sunset when he makes rounds and collect payment then. $12 he said. I paid more. If you go, please tip him well. Castle Rock Park is across the river and a great place to hike. Snow Bottom SNA north parcel is minutes away and south parcel not many more. REM Castle Rock DNR land includes Castle Rock Park and park of Cedar Cliff across the highway. There's nothing to do in Castle Rock, and nowhere to shop. Come prepared. You won't have any traffic or neighbors.

We were very excited to find that we could rent Kayaks at Governor Dodge…read more The concession stand is located at Cox Hollow Lake next to the parking lot. The have food, ice cream, souvenirs and rentals. They rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats. We chose to rent kayaks (sit-on kayaks) for one hour, which was $16/person. You must also leave a $20 deposit, or your driver's license or a credit card as the deposit. We could have added a second hour for only $5/person more, but we were short on time. Included with the rental is a the kayak, a paddle and life jacket. Once we signed the waiver, we were give the keys to four kayaks and headed down to the lake. All the rentals are parked on land to the left (looking at the lake) of the beach. We found our kayaks and took off on the lake. We had a great time. The lake was calm, but we had a nice breeze to keep us cool. It's not a huge lake, but big enough that we didn't feel crowded with the other water-adventurers. Nearing the end of our hour, we returned to land, locked up our kayaks and walked back to the concession stand. We retuned our paddles, life jackets and keys. To cap off our trip, we ended with some ice cream. I suggest getting a con from the counter. My one scoop cone was HUGE and delicious.
