food service everything is always so great!! every time . always a five start visit our favorite place to go for date night

a plate of food

This restaurant has a hibachi grill, sushi, and a bar. It looks like a little old restaurant, but they do an excellent job keeping the interior clean. The sushi was beautifully presented and tasted great. Our friends had the hibachi grill for lunch. -The prices were reasonable. -You have to choose a salad or soup. -The show was very simple, but the chef had a good sense of humor. He asked for my wife's name and wrote it on the fried rice in Korean. The sauce at Hibachi Grill was something special.

Service was HORRIBLE!!! I come from a very long history of food service and bar management and I've never seen service like this. If you don't know the answer, the correct response is, "I will find that out for you!", not "Oh, I don't know. I'm pretty sure, but I don't really know." Don't ask if a table who has sat for 25 minutes without attention and have empty glasses "You want some more water?" Fill the glass. DO NOT take my glass by the top with your fingers all over the area where I put my lips to drink. If you are another server and you're just hanging out, talking, looking at fellow server's tables looking stranded, ask if you can help them. The failure of the other servers around you affects the business that is paying you money. Food was good. Took a long time to get it. Had to ask the server where the salads and soup for the rest of the table were, since I was sitting there with mine for 10 minutes waiting to eat. The food was good.

Been here 2 times after church and every time the food has been so amazing! The waiters were patient with us and the restaurant is quiet. The place is very authentic and the menu is huge!

Lunch spot with fire!
L S.

Lunch is reasonable for this entertainment meal with fire, veggies, fries rice and tasty scallops. The presentation is the standard onion volcano, spinning eggs and fancy chopping. Took a long minute to wait for others to appear at the grill. Enjoyed the meal and the banter. This place can seat a lot! Could use a little updating, but focus is on the food. The sushi has lots of options. Enjoyed.

Teriyaki chicken and fried rice.

The miso soup and teriyaki chicken was amazing, the best teriyaki chicken I've ever had. The service was quick and the employees were very friendly. The ambiance was nice and felt very authentic feeling.

Tofu add on!

I hate having to leave reviews like this, but inconsistent service will lose your customers, like myself. If you have three people in the back working the sushi bar, two people over in the bar area stocking, three people cleaning tables out in the front when you first open ....then you should have someone at the door for the line that's already forming. When you don't, I take my money elsewhere. I've had great experience here before, but the last three have just been less than satisfying. It's easy to overlook at happening once or twice, but more than twice as a pattern and an intentional pattern at that. No one wants to be ignored when they come in esp when people are making eye contact with them. They want to be greeted with a smile -they want to be seated & they want to be waited on.

Philadelphia Roll, Boom Boom Roll, Hoosier and Fire Cracker Rolls.

First time to this establishment and I was impressed. Fast seating, attentive servers, and delicious rolls. There is a hibachi section that was very popular. I'll have to give that a go next time. There's a large selection of food and if the rolls are any indication, I don't think you can go wrong. Employees were wearing masks, upon of arrival, the social distancing was of no concern but as more guests came in, it became a little too close for comfort. If you want some space, get there early. It'll be well worth it to give them a try!

Great food. Fun atmosphere. Must sit at the grill for fun entertainment while dining. Staff is pleasant and adds to the experience.

Food 10/10 I mean literally my boyfriend and I were overwhelmed at how wonderful everything looked, how delicious it was. Multiple times we brought it up in conversation. The food felt like an experience. Steak 10/10 (I know I said food but this has to be in its own category) oh my gosh. Please go get the Delemonico cut, medium. It melts in your mouth, no need for A1. This cut was recommended by Cheyenne and she got it spot on! Ambiance felt like home, everyone was friendly. The manager even came to our table so we were able to compliment them personally. We definitely found our favorite place to eat in Louisville. Thank you Cast Iron for a wonderful night!

Returning recently, the food was still very good, but now everything comes out on regular plates, and some of that original magic felt lost. That said, this is still a solid local steakhouse. The staff was attentive, the meal was flavorful, and the prices were fair, especially compared to many of the more famous steakhouses across the Ohio River in Louisville. It may not have the prestige or polish of some of those places, but that's also part of its appeal. This feels more like a neighborhood restaurant serving happy locals than a destination fine dining spot -- and honestly there's something refreshing about that. Good food, good service, reasonable prices, and a comfortable atmosphere without trying too hard. Sometimes that's exactly what you want.

We were in last week for dinner, for a dual Birthday celebration and had a larger group of about 20 people. We sat in the front room, and it was rather warm in there, but it was an unusually hot day for mid-September. There was only one other couple there when me and my husband arrived and it took a while for the server to come over and ask if we wanted drinks. By the time he did, several other people had arrived, and they all got their drinks before we did. It even took forever to get our drinks; we could see them dying at the bar waiting to be ran. I'll be honest, the service wasn't the best, it was obvious the server might have been newer in the sense of experience with a large party. He was very friendly and had a great demeanor but was extremely forgetful, which he mentioned several times. Once everyone was settled, we started with Appetizers. The Goat Cheese Fritters, with Bacon Date Aioli, Honey and Parsley are always my go to. They are small little goat cheese balls deep fried to perfection and delicious every time. For dinner we shared the Bone-In Pork Schnitzel that has a Tonkatsu Glaze, Sauerkraut, charred lemon and Japanese potato salad, and a side of mac n cheese. The Pork was extremely dry and flavorless and there was no glaze on it. The mac n cheese was just okay. One of my friends got the Braised Short Rib Adobo (brown beech & crimini mushrooms, creamy risotto) and let me have a taste. Let's just say I was extremely jealous I chose the wrong entrée for dinner, it was so good!

It's top-tier drinks and eats. They also have a Valet, so parking doesn't have to be a headache. The Old Fashioned was one of the best I've had. The crab cake had virtually no visible filler & was encased in a light, crunchy panko crust. It seemed to be a higher price-point at $25 for one crab cake, but buying a jar of good lump crab at a grocery store is about the same price and quantity. I also had some of my newly befriended bar-neighbor's Sweet Potatoes, at their instance, and I was blown away. Clearly they're slow roasted, blended, and then topped with pecans, toasted marshmallows, and some kind of crunchy corn flake magic. Money can't buy love, but it can buy perfectly crafted Bourbon drinks and food you will be dreaming about for years. 10/10 You get what you pay for. Fantastic service. Fantastic food/bev. Disappointing Experience for the Price…read more I was really disappointed with my experience at Repeal Steakhouse. I sat at the bar for dinner, and it took quite a while for someone to come over and ask me what I wanted to order. The French onion soup was just okay, but the homemade bread was extremely dry and stale. It honestly tasted like a roll that had been sitting out for a couple of days. The service was even more disappointing. A gentleman sat down at the bar after me, placed his order, and managed to receive his salad, steak, and side dish before I even received my steak. Eventually, someone came over to check on me, and I had to ask where my food was. When my steak finally arrived, a woman sitting next to me -- who appeared to be affiliated with the restaurant -- had to point out that I hadn't even been given silverware. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve when it came time to pay. After spending over $100 on dinner for one, my check was essentially dropped in front of me without a thank-you or any acknowledgment of my visit. When my credit card was returned, it was placed in front of me just as casually, again without a word. At a restaurant at this price point, I expect more than just a meal. I expect attentive service, food that reflects the quality the restaurant is charging for, and basic courtesy. Sadly, none of those things came together during my visit. Louisville has plenty of dining options, and this experience did not live up to what I expected from a steakhouse of this caliber. For the price, I left feeling overlooked and genuinely disappointed.

And I know, I know, its not the most socially acceptable item to order, but I hardly see it any more and it is so freaking good, so we started with an order of Foie Gras (bacon jam, seared foie gras, toasted baguette, amarena cherry gastrique) My entree was the 7oz filet. I got the horseradish creme fraiche for it, but it really needed nothing additional, it was that good on its own. My side was the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts (fried with bacon, candied pecans and finished with aged balsamic). If i had anything negative to say about our time here, it would be this dish. I adore brussels sprouts and this was too heavy on the balsamic and oil. I probably would not get this again, but thats OK! There are like 10 other options to choose from!
