It has been several years since I visited on vacation in Gettysburg as lots has changed with known things from past aren't around anymore so sad but one thing Tommy's is still here and appearing to be going strong. Sunday 7/26/2026 returned for a vacation as arrived headed to Tommy's as We had an excellent pizza with mushrooms as ate outside at dining tables with our doggie dachshund Haleigh Ann with purchasing cold cut hoagies for the next day as they were great also. Very nice place to dine in or on the sidewalk in good weather. Tommy's has been around in Gettysburg for years with a nice location corner of Washington street and Steinwehr Avenue. Whenever I visit a new town, I am finding myself trying new pizzerias I was in Chris' hometown for the wedding and it just so happened to be Father's Day. Myself and Chris, along with his two brothers and niece decided to hit Tommy's. Apparently its a childhood spot for them and a favorite. It was a very every busy Sunday with orders to-go as well as guest inside and outside enjoying the experience. We ordered pepperoni pizzas and a dozen buffalo wings. I had a hard cider and two delicious slices. The race car matches were on the tele, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the nice sunny day. I love smelling food from the outside of an establisment whenever I arrive or leave,, haha. That speaks volumes! read more

This is a place where the local people eat. No frills just a local pizza place. Food is good but the bathrooms need some ventilation.

Food is always good, but easily one of the top 5 slowest pizza shops I've ever been to. I'm a local and have been there about a dozen times. Pizza is always supposed to be out in 25 minutes, but in reality it's guaranteed 45 minutes base + 15-30 minutes peak wait time. Also, don't bother calling in. They won't start your order until you pay at the desk. Wait times always dumbfound me - seems like there is plenty of kitchen space and staff to get orders out efficiently l, but they never do. I'm and adult now and don't have the time to wait this long for a simple pizza, so I think this slice I'm eating is my last one from Tommy's. read more

My wife and I ordered a large 1/2 pepperoni and cheese pizza and fries. The pizza was good. It reminds me of Pizza Huts pan pizza buttery crust. The cheese is a little too much and the sauce is kind of thick. It's a greasy one but hey you're in Gettysburg not New York City. It was $24 for a large pizza with 1/2 Pepperoni and fries. That's reasonably priced. The parking lot could get filled quickly so that could be an issue. I'm giving 5 stars because the order was hot and we had a good overall experience. Tried Tommy's for a late lunch/early dinner on a Thursday around 330-4pm. You order first at the counter and then seat yourself until your number is called to grab your food from the front. We had been recommended both the pizza and the cheesesteak. We asked for only meat, cheese, and sautéed onions on the cheesesteak and the pizza was all extra cheese with half bacon. The staff were pleasant and easily understood the order. It was about $35 including a bottle of water. The seating area has both booths and tables with a variety of seating capacities. The tables were mostly clean, a few crumbs here and there. The food was out within 15 minutes and was piping hot. The pizza was my favorite. Both the cheese and the sauce had great flavor. I loved the crust. The roll of the cheesesteak was toasted, which was fine until you got to the butt end of the roll and it's hard as a rock/inedible. read more

Slightly overrated for being the best pizza in town. I ordered a Caesar Salad and got only the dressing. Pizza was extremely doughy but I am giving this restaurant 3.5stars for catering convenience on a busy touristy area. We were finally able to get in to this local pizza shop. It's almost impossible to get inside on the weekends. You can't even park! (They do have a drive thru window). When you go inside you order at the counter then they'll call your number when your order is ready. I remember this was part of the reason we also left before because it was extremely crowded and people were standing everywhere. So if you don't like that sort of thing then the weekends aren't for you. We went during the week and about 4 pm. It wasn't crowded at all. We walked in and ordered immediately. The staff was very friendly. We noticed a sign on the wall saying they've been around since 1972. We ordered their large pizza and an order of fries. We were surprised that their largest pizza is 14". The price was over $14. That surprised us because most pizza shops are selling 16-18" pies. We ordered plain cheese so we could taste it without extra stuff on it. It's good. I wasn't wowed by it but it's definitely good. We both areed the fries were amazing! I'd definitely ordered those no doubt!! They have a great location right in the tourist section of Gettysburg. If you're on a tour and looking for pizza, I'd definitely give them a try. read more

Tommy's is hit or miss. It's a local favorite that is mostly built on reputation not currant status. There are much better pizzeria 's in the burg Antica comes to mind but Tommy's has the reputation. Don't believe the hype there is much out there. read more

Wonderful servers! The pizza is out of this world. I like the yummy pizza sauce. And I must say the sauce to cheese ratio is abundant. :) I often get the black olive & hamburger or the black olive & onions. Their Steak & cheese sub is super yummy, I love their fries! Their onion rings are tasty as are their salads. I enjoy the Greek salad and the club salad myself. :) I seriously crave food from this place. You can get to go or carry out. Havnt been here in about 6 years bought a small sausage pie.... pretty tasty but spongy crust, undercooked dough. should be crispy not spongy. I saw 4 employees wipe their faces and noses ( one cook sneezed) he had gloves on blew his nose but never changed gloves. Very unsanitary for employees working with food. Me and My Husband came here after what are ghost tour Farnsworth house. We ordered a large pepperoni pie and mozzarella sticks. If you want a quick bite to eat and some decent pizza with the price, there's nothing to beat. My Husband loved the pizza, the mozzarella sticks could've been warmed up better but for the price I didn't expect more. I recommend this for a quick bite. The best pizza in Gettysburg, in my opinion at least. I honestly have only had the pizza and few sides like fries and wings but that's because it's that good. I don't need to try anything else. We came in 20 minutes before closing, Google said they close at 10pm but they actually close at 9pm. I felt the gentleman at the counter was truly irritated that we came in so late (8:40) despite that I apologized 5 times. The resteraunt itself was pretty clean, I did not explore the menu because we wanted pizza. We ordered a small pizza with sausage, green pepper and onion, I like plain or pepperoni but my wife likes all the veggies. At first bite I tasted a really good sweet sauce with the right amount. The pizza had a nice crunch to the crust with a good airy and tasty inside. The toppings were fresh and had nice crunch. Boggles my mind to see this place isn't 5 stars across the board. Their pizza is so damned good. It's legitimately so good we drive up from DC pretty regularly to enjoy it. The poor reviews complaining about no parking or that it's too busy? It's Gettysburg, not NYC. Plenty of parking nearby or walk from your hotel. And too busy? That's not a problem to rate a business for, rather to congratulate them! I know we'll be there for Christmas festival weekend but hope to make it up a couple times before then too. We were there for take out tonight it's a Wednesday night.Ordered two subs to go a meatball parm and a chicken parm.waited 45 minutes and finally asked where our sandwiches were and they were on top of the oven for who knows how long.Got back to our Hotel room down the street and my wife's meatball sandwich had 4 tiny meatballs on it and the bread crumbled apart like crumbs from being well done.my chicken cutlet parm was like sliced deli chicken with some cheese and the same dried out bread as my wife's..Horrible.And the sign says since 1973.i don't know how if the serve food like this.I seen a pizza being sent back also while we were there and it was burnt to a crisp and they still served it to the customer.We are here on vacation and thank God we Don't live here bc and have them as our local pizza shop.Two thumbs way down and I'm still hungry 25$ .It was 40$ if you count the 4 pack of beers in cans .i read more

I have wanted to try this place for years. We finally decided to take the plunge and try it out. It was very busy, which is a good sign. My husband and I each ordered subs. He got the bacon cheeseburger. He said it was great. I got the turkey and mine was good as well. The french fries were nothing special, but they were manageable. The star of the visit was the super nice lady at the drive-through window. She was so sweet and 100% would be why I would come back. We had our pup with us and she gave her a treat. I can't say enough about her customer service. In today's entitled world, this is not the norm. She really made me feel like a valued customer. The meat lovers I ordered for delivery took over an hour, and was not only cold when I received it but it had apparently been extremely overcooked before it was boxed up. The hamburger meat was dry & hard and crunchy and tasted more like wood coals than beef. The woman who delivered it apologized it took so long because of traffic & the person who took the order gave her the wrong phone number. No paper plates, no grated parmesean & no discount or credit for the cold, overcooked/burnt & gross "food" that took twice as long as promised to deliver. It appears whoever sent this out after scorching it to ash either didn't notice, doesn't know how to cook pozza, or didn't care that they send out such a terrible product representing their establishment; whichever I have no tolerance for paying good money for something that isn't edible.
