And then in time and age where people are putting all kinds of random things in your food I fully trust this place to not only give me something delicious, but also give me something that's not going to make me regret it later. We got two different kinds of pizzas, mozzarella sticks and wings. Everything was delicious and hot and the people serving it at the counter was friendly and fast. I didn't get any desserts this time, but the dessert case look like they had some pretty tasty desserts. I have heard that their cannolis are to die for! Jerry & Sal's are no longer located in the mall as the mall is condemned. They are now located where Schultz's Deli used to be on the corner across from the Utz Outlet. You can't miss their location with plenty of parking and their digital sign. When you walk in the entrance of the restaurant on the right hand side is a table with a bunch of different photos over the years that almost pay a tribute to the owner and co-owner and family and it really gives you a good perspective as to how they started in business. On the left side of the wall, there is a copy of an old newspaper article which was very interesting to read and a few other photos. 5-Stars is given for how well maintained & clean the inside of the restaurant is and the abundant seating for guests. 5-Stars is also given for presentation of the various pizza they offer in the glass cases as well as a few other items and they also have a glass case featuring what looks to be different types of dinners. Now onto the customer service experience, if I could give 10-Stars instead of 5-Stars I would in a second. When I went up to the counter, there was a young lady who cheerfully greeted me and asked if I had any questions and what I would like to order, I did have a few questions and she was able to give me an answer immediately, and that was extremely helpful and as I sat waiting for my pizza to be finished, I've seen other staff members interact with customers in a very friendly, welcoming and professional manner and let's just say you don't see that too often these days so whatever they're doing there for customer service they're doing it the right way and I applaud them for that. Now let's visit the pizza..... I ordered a large square pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni and mushroom and also one slice of their normal round pizza without any toppings. I am really trying to find a silver lining in the square pizza, but I'm having a hard time and the reason why is the pizza seemed somewhat undercooked regarding the crust in the dough, when we took a few slices out and started to eat them. The base of the dough was finished. It had a real slight browning to it, which is a good sign, and the dough had somewhat of arise in it, but there was a layer in there that it just did not look cooked, and the toppings were on the money and the crust had a crunch to it, which is nice. The sauce or the marinated mushrooms something had somewhat of a spicy bite to it, and I understand that every pizza shop makes their sauce differently and that could be attributed to the past on recipe for many many years ago. But each slice felt sloppy it felt weak and soggy. If that's the words to use for it it wasn't a piece that you would pick up and it would be solid. These pieces drooped over immediately. So this is where I have to give it 3.5-Stars. And onto the slice of pizza, which was plain cheese pizza it seemed OK but it just was not there. Would we go back and try some other food there? Definitely, we will definitely go back and try one of their subs and possibly one of their specialty salads and as far as the pizza goes unfortunately I'm not a fan. read more

I have been here but have never left a review. Today I got an Italian sub. The bread is made in house. The place is a little dated and darker the average. Service was quick to take my order. And prices were within reason for the most part. They do have lunch specials Monday through Friday. Quality of the sub was better than average. At least enough I will come back here for this particular sub. They also have some pasta dishes including lasagna. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Stopped in for a large pizza, half cheese/half bacon. The crust was PERFECT. it had a nice crisp and chew. The cheese, sauce, and bacon had great flavor. The bacon was smoky and enhanced each bite. Haven't been here for years. Place was clean, service was fast, staff was friendly. Disappointed by the antipasto salad I ordered. It was all iceberg lettuce with the usual cold cuts and four small cherry tomatoes. Although fresh, the iceberg lettuce was only the yellow core of the lettuce head. Pizza is usually decent but only when asked well done, have had too many times when this place is busy that dough is undercooked. Here is picture of cheesesteak with extra cheese; such a joke, cheese isn't even throughout the sub and barely any. Fries were inedible, wrapped in foil, and beyond soggy. For starters, it's the best ny style pizza you'll find in central PA, and I'm from North Jersey--home of the mafia and best pizza and American-Italian food. I've lived in culinary barrens, and that almost always includes pizza. Central PA is one of those barrens as far as pizza goes, but this place has very good pizza, best around. Their homemade bread is amazing, but their garlic bread is very herby but not garlicky. I didn't bother eating it. Alas, their pasta was found very lacking. The sauce tasted jarred, and the meatballs had that formerly frozen spongey texture. I did though enjoy my salad with the house dressing very much. I also tried my husband's cheesesteak which was amazing, although not a classic cheesesteak. Ok in brevity: 1. Definitely go here for pizza and subs--amazing! 2. They're not exactly a pasta place; so that's not worth the order. 3. Great customer service 4. My family has eaten here several times and will return. 5. Jerry & Sal's is a Hanover institution in the Hanover Pizza world. I grew up on this stuff and it has always been one of my favorite pizza's anywhere. I miss the days of seeing Jerry making pizza's and saying hi while I was hanging out at the mall (luckily I'm still not hanging out at the mall). My only complaint is that the hot subs can get their bread soggy pretty quickly which turns the chicken parmesan​ sub into something like a wet diaper halfway through. If you don't like this pizza there is something seriously wrong with you. If I'm eating lunch I go with two slices of cheese (gotta eat it while it's way hot for best taste). If you want great pizza and live in the Hanover area I would go to Jerry & Sal's. We needed some food after a long night of drinking our fair share of bucket drinks at Howl at the Moon. My roommate and I have eaten J&S many times but we let our out of town guest try it out. The pizza is simple. Its more like NY style, flat, greasy, and sliced big but good flavor. They have two locations with different owners but they both use the same recipes. This has to be one of Hanover's staples when it comes to restaurants. read more

We like Jerry & Sal's food, but the service leaves something to be desired. We ordered one of the specialty pizzas from their menu on their website, the spinach, broccoli and tomato pizza, which specifically says "no sauce" on the menu. When we got the pizza home, it clearly had sauce on it. We called them up and pointed out that they had made a mistake and their answer was "Well, you didn't say no sauce." When we told them that their menu says it doesn't have sauce, then their revised answer was "Well, our menu hasn't been updated in a long time." Finally their answer was "The menu says it is subject to change." We ordered a specialty pizza right off their own online menu, expected it to be as described in the menu, and somehow we were still in the wrong according to them. There was no apology, no offer to make anything right. They need to learn how to own up to their mistake and offer to fix things. read more

Definitely one of the best pizza places in the Hanover area. The NY style pizza is decent, but the real gem is the Sicilian pizza. The large is a huge square pie that is sure to satisfy a full family. 16 square slices of deliciousness. The crust is perfectly baked and isn't too doughy like some other Sicilian (thick crust) at other pizza joints. I go out of my way to get this pizza when I'm in Hanover. read more

The pizza is too greasy but good Customers are is disruptive Staff using profanity constantly and could be nicer. I have been going to "Jerry & Sal's" since it was called "Scotto's Pizza". It has always been my absolute favorite. Now we drive an hour each Sunday to eat there. Today we didn't recognize anyone working. The guys were rude and when we showed up to pick up our to go order it was not ready. We walked the mall for a half hour to come back and it was still not ready. Finally after waiting another 20 minutes we get our pizza and it was deformed. The guys behind the counter could care less. I guess I was hoping they would make it right by offering money off of the deformed pizza or offer us a soda while we waited another 20 minutes to remake the pie. No luck. Advice to the owner. Hire some people, treat them right, pay them well so they stay and show some pride in their job. I won't be coming back. So long Scotto's. read more
