Yesterday, Tommy saved me $2,100 due to the Audi dealership misdiagnosing a camshaft leakage and his letting me know the repair turned out to be minor. I'm not quite sure the dealership would have been as forthright. Their honesty and quality of care is an 11 on a 10 point scale. On top of that, both Tommy and Anton are really nice, friendly guys who will go out of their way to make you happy. For example, Anton noticed the loaner needed new wipers when he was scraping off the snow. Since they had none in stock, Anton took the wipers off his car and installed them on the loaner...... I've used Tommy's Garage many times and their prices are always significantly less than the dealer. I will be a loyal customer forever. read more

My brother-in-law recommended we bring our 2005 Subaru Outback to Tommy's for a strut fix. They were super honest and since we are going to let our elderly mother and father-in-law, we wanted to have them check it out and ensure it was safe. They listed some stuff that could be fixed, but unlike the dealership, they didn't have any pressure. The car drives like it did before the strut issue and Tommy was actually at the desk when we picked it up. Super cool guy and seemed super honest, what more do you want in a car guy? We will be back often. They are right across the street from a NAPA auto part place, which probably helps! read more

I dropped my Audi off on a Monday the week before a holiday. This was for an oil change, a coolant purge and refill, and installing a new coolant overflow reservoir. I was told by the employee it would be done no problem and if I could not get there by Friday they key would be left in the box for pickup. I called Friday, five days later to check on the status an no one answered the phone, so I left a message. By Tuesday the next week, eight days later I still don't have a call and I stop in to find that the car hasn't even been touched. The front desk employee shrugs and offers nothing, no excuse, no apology, basically says that it's the mechanic's fault and that it was a holiday. The holiday is observed on the Monday after, not for a week straight. This is in no way a professional establishment and was a complete waste of my time. read more

What do you mean you shouldn't go through 5 quarts of oil each week? Haha, moved back from Texas with a bad oil leak. Brought it to Tommy's and these guys were great. They work primarily on Audi vehicles so I brought my A8 in which had a massive oil leak due to a faulty seal on the oil cooler. Not only did they give me a better price on the repair than the dealership (of course), they were able to provide me with a rental as well. Hopefully I never have to go back. Disclosure: Tommy didn't actually do any work on my car, but he took a look at it and helped me out of a tight spot. I did something funny to the engine today to my car and found the nearest mechanic because my car was freaking out on the highway. It was 4:45pm and the sky was grey with a HUGE storm about to come down. Tommy stopped work on another car, heard me out and spent about 20 minutes looking at my car, connecting it to the computer, helping me troubleshoot why it was malfunctioning and sending off smoke. He was so kind and helpful (especially since I was sitting there crying) and didn't even charge me for the consult. Great guys to work with. Know their stuff. Have handled several repairs for us. Though we were in for very costly repairs and they found the problem right away and both were easy fixes. One was electrical problems on a Chrysler Sedan that the dealer couldn't look at for a week. They got us right in and discovered some blown fuses. The second was a Lexus that had a loud exhaust. I brought my used and recently acquired Audi to Tommy's Garage for a number of issues. I was referred to him by a dealer that sells used Audis. Tommy and his staff resolved all of the issues and probably saved me in excess of $2000 versus dealer prices by selecting good used but very serviceable parts. Due to his years of experience he was able to determine the issues and resolve them quickly rather than the "take a guess and replace numerous parts until you get it right" approach that I've experienced at many Audi Dealers. Tommy's Garage has saved me a small fortune in repair bills over the past 4+ years. I will not take my Audi anywhere else! One example: a different local shop tried to sell me $1,800 in unnecessary parts plus labor. (I only went there to begin with because they were open on weekends.) The following day, Tom diagnosed my problem -- two broken wires -- which he promptly repaired. He charged NOTHING for parts and very little for labor. I would've been out more than $2,000 if I had trusted the other shop. I'm not saying they were dishonest, but they simply were not competent like Tom. He also saved me serious money on two other occasions, and Anton did excellent work for me, too. Sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment because Tommy's Garage tends to be busy, but it's WORTH IT. They're busy for a reason -- they know what they're doing, and they're great to work with! read more

I don't know where to even begin... I found Tommy's Garage a few years ago while I was driving through Hopkins and I noticed a lot of Audi's parked in their lot. Many of them were damaged severely and some of them looked like they may have just needed some basic servicing. Regardless, a few years later I became a customer, -for life. I initially emailed the staff at Tommy's Garage a few photos of my damaged 2012 Audi S4 Prestige that needed some serious electrical work done. At this point I was very desperate because I felt like my options were running out. They responded to me that day and told me to bring the car in a few weeks (because they were that busy and busy is always good right?). I was completely fine with the timeline (this had become my last resort). The damage my vehicle sustained was not your typical hit; I needed the body harness in my car repaired... This meant that over separate 60 wires and dozens of connectors had been severed and ripped out of the car from the by the driver's side fender and they all needed to be reconnected to various parts of the car. Sounds pretty serious right? Anyways, once my car was in the bay, Anton began to work on it right away. I cannot express enough how courteous and professional both Anton and Tom are. I must have stopped by the shop over 5 times throughout the repair just to see how things were coming along, and not once did I feel as though I was annoying them. Both of these guys are extremely personable, AND most utterly professional. The repair that they completed would have cost me over $15,000.00 at the Audi dealership in Minneapolis, and I ended up only paying a tiny fraction of that. The Audi dealership wanted to replace the entire body harness instead of take the time and repair it correctly. Anton repaired the harness and replaced all of the connectors without ANY faults and I am beyond elated! He also used parts from other scrap cars to help minimize my costs. I could easily tell that the gentlemen at Tommy's Garage were working in my best interest. As I have told them in person, and I will say it again: Tommy's Garage was a God-send. My mother and I will solely bring our cars here and highly recommend to anyone driving any car, but especially Audis or other German imports... A very honest and knowledgable staff, have been to them for the last couple years and plan on staying with them. Every now and then they seem to be booked up, but I figure that's just due to the word getting out on their outstanding services, and in comparison, it's well worth the wait since there's no doubt of them getting the job done with integrity and without all the B.S. most garages give. read more
