We always have such a good time coming here!…read more We love the interaction with the touch tide pool, the octopus, penguins and the interaction with various animals - especially the sting rays! There is also a petting zoo with llamas and goats and horses and even giraffes but the kids have usually been more interested in the aquarium and aviary. There have been some changes to the pricing and the play area with all the bouncy houses has drastically changed since we had a membership last year, so I'm not sure if we'll renew. But it is still definitely a place we'll hit up at least once a year!

Depending on what you will be doing, it ranges from 30 to 90 credits. About $3 to $9 depending on how much credit your purchase as they give free credits the more you buy. The koi were huge and hungry. For 30 credits, got to buy some koi food to feed them. The sting rays were fantastic. First time to feed stingrays. Mouth is on the bottom... a staff showed us how to feed them. Learned something new. We got to throw some fish to the otters. Petted lemurs and kangaroo. Went up close to an Asian water monitor lizard. It was big... 8 ft in length. A lot of firsts for us. They also had a camel, giraffe, turtles, different types of lizards, ant eater, baby armadillo, warthog and so much more. We didn't get a chance to interact with the capybara as they were cleaning the cage. We went in a Friday afternoon and wasn't busy. I can see how kids would love the place. Oh yeah, they even had penguins that you can interact with too. Another first. Definitely worth visiting if you like animals.

This is a smaller LFS that focuses on saltwater/reef tanks. They have quite a few frag tanks with various softies, LPS, and SPS corals that all seem healthy and fairly priced. The staff has always been super patient and helpful when I have questions or when I just want to browse. They've been nice about letting me be particular when choosing specific fish/inverts/corals. They're also very knowledgeable and helpful, especially as I'm still new to this side of the hobby. It seems like Oceanlife is a staple among reef keepers in the area and they've definitely built relationships with folks. People get greeted by first name and seem to be able to special order things as well. All around, it seems like what you look for in a LFS!

Even with the new adjusted hours I unknowingly came in a minute before closing and to my surprise, Nick still took the time to patiently test my water thoroughly and refused to sell me any fish or corals because my water still wasn't ready. Fast forward a couple weeks later and my water is finally ready and they will be seeing a lot of me! What attracted me to this place is that the store is super clean and the prices are generally better than any other marine-life store in the Houston area. The staff is always super friendly, professional and knowledgeable which I am so thankful for as an aquarium novice such as myself. If you're looking for anything saltwater tank related- ocean life should be one of your top choices!!

Not to mention, i smoke too as i am a girl in college, and i get it, but this man was hitting his vape right in my face mid convo just kinda rude and off putting, probably won't be returning here.

4 stars? Let me tell you why…read more We've been visiting The Woodlands Children's Museum regularly for the past couple of years, and overall it's been a solid experience for younger kids. It's a well-managed space that's clearly designed for structured, imaginative play rather than chaos. If you know what to expect, it can be a great outing. Pros: * The location right off The Woodlands Parkway makes it easy to get to without going far out of the way. * The museum is the perfect size--big enough to keep kids engaged, but not overwhelming for parents or little ones. * They host multiple events throughout the month, which helps keep things interesting beyond a standard visit. * Being able to host birthday parties here is a big plus and very convenient. * Pricing feels fair for what's offered, especially compared to larger, more crowded children's attractions. Cons: * The layout doesn't change very often; in two years, I've only seen one noticeable update, which can make repeat visits feel a bit repetitive. * Parking can be frustrating since the lot is shared with a large gym, especially during peak hours. * The shopping center itself is pretty outdated and could really use a remodel, which affects the overall experience. * This is not the place for very hyper kids who need to run freely--everything is more controlled and calm. * There are no concessions, and outside food or drinks aren't allowed, which can be inconvenient for longer visits. Overall, this museum is a great option for younger children who enjoy hands-on, imaginative play in a calm environment. It's affordable, well-located, and thoughtfully run, but best suited for kids who do well with structure. We'll continue to visit, just not expecting major changes each time.

Climbing structures integrated throughout encourage physical play (and yes some energy burn)! Outdoors children manipulate the direction and flow of water in interactive water tables and engineering principles. Beyond exhibits, there are amenities like food court, bookstore, and gift shop. My only critique is in the ticket purchase. If you buy at the kiosk and not counter (24" away) you save $2 BUT then the kiosk charges you $1.62 processing fee so big whoop on the .38 cent savings. The kiosk only makes sense when purchasing multiple tickets but is still something for the business to take a look at. Overall, awesome space! Plan to stay several hours to enjoy all the offerings.

The holiday features were a big plus -- the snow playground was a fun seasonal surprise, and seeing Elsa, Anna, and Olaf with a Frozen sing-along and meet-and-greet made the visit extra special for younger kids. That said, the experience would have been much better with stronger upkeep. Many of the electronic exhibits were not working, unplugged, or appeared damaged, which was disappointing for kids who were eager to interact. The museum was also very crowded, making it hard to spend quality time at some of the most popular exhibits. Overall, it's a solid outing and we still enjoyed ourselves, but improved maintenance and functionality of the interactive exhibits would really elevate the experience.

We purchased our time entry tickets (my son's student ticket was free, but he did need to show his student ID) for Friday at 12:00. It was a rainy day, so we entered with our rain jackets and umbrellas. Parking in Hermann Park was easy, and we got a spot right close to the zoo entry. The rain was light, and came and went. The day cooler than average at 76 degrees F or so. We wandered from sight to sight, and saw just about everything. We were not able to find the Snow Leopard, nor the Howler Monkeys (including the new baby). We didn't see a bear. The elephants were just going in for feeding time. Still there was so much to see! Monkeys, otters, snakes, bugs, frogs and lily pads, zebras, antelopes, elephants, tigers, lions, leopards, ocelot, the Ant Eater was amazing! There was a sea lion exhibit where you stand in a tunnel, and the sea lions swim over you! And, there was a "cat walk" upon which the leopard would stalk--creepy! The animal attendants were very friendly and interactive, offering information about each animal, including the names and ages of the animals. They were able to answer any question I threw at them--what do they eat? Who gets a long with whom? The signage was interesting, too, with information about each species, and then a white board that is apparently updated frequently with daily news. We were there the Friday prior to Mother's Day, and there were heart signs around, identifying each of the mothers by name, wishing them Happy Mother's Day. Very sweet! Sweetest of all was the just born Gibbon (just 10 days old). It was in its mama's arms, and dad and her other son were playing nearby. The family was incredibly sweet! Dad and 3-year-old son Marv were taking care of each other while Mom was taking care of baby. And watching them swing along their trees was so fun! Favorite exhibits included the Gorilla and the Gibbons. Next time we visit Houston, we will be back on a sunny day, perhaps in the morning, to see if we can find even more!

The pictures are of the outside of the museum and the butterfly exhibit. There is a nice sloping walkway in the butterfly house. Also they have several benches to sit on if you want to just sit and be one with the butterflies while they fly around you. For $5 you can release a new butterfly into the butterfly house. It might be a cool experience for a child to release a butterfly. Aside from the butterfly house they have an IMAX, planetarium and the regular and special exhibit museums. There is a McDonalds in the lobby and restrooms throughout the museum. They have a parking garage that requires a fee (might be free with a membership). The museum has a parking garage that is convenient but fills up quickly. The cost is a $30 flat rate and the spaces are tight, so reverse parking is key. General admission, planetarium, butterfly exhibit, and special exhibits are all individually priced. We spent $226 for a family of four to see two special exhibits (including general admission + parking). The Terracotta exhibit was smaller than we hoped -- more smaller artifacts and limited interactive elements and terracotta warriors on display. The King Tut exhibit was more memorable-- more immersive, better videos, and a clear narrative about his life, death, and discovery. Food is the biggest drawback. The Element Grill closes at 3pm, so late-day visitors are left with pre-made café items from the Periodic Table next door. This included cold cut sandwiches, burgers/hot dogs sitting under warmers, canned soda and bags of chips at a premium price. Recommend to visit the HMNS on a Tuesday 5-8pm for free general admission or consider a membership to save on costs. Plan ahead and eat beforehand or bring food and enjoy a nice picnic across the street!
