Confused why this place has such a high rating. I just moved here and came in for my first visit, a cleaning, my appt. was at 5, but I wasn't seen until 5:30. I notified them that I have mandibular tori (super bony lower mouth that makes getting xrays painful) They took at least 20 - 30 minutes worth of xrays, re-doing them, having other hygienists come in multiple times to help. I told them that I had never had so many images taken in my life, I was almost to tears and left because I was in so much pain. She said that they like to take an image of every tooth. EVERY TOOTH. Insane. Especially when you have a patient in such pain. Well, turns out, I had no cavities - which should be a great thing. But turns out, they wanted to re-do an existing filling. One that my old dentist re-did already within the last year. I am not going to return. I didn't leave the dentist office until 7 pm. 2 hours for a routine cleaning, for someone with no cavities and barely any cleaning because I floss religiously, is absolutely insane. They need to figure their stuff out. read more

Very good customer service! We had issues with my schedule and had to cancel several times due to valid reasons but they were very accommodating to adjust our appointment. I moved to this location recently and I had appointment with Dr. Lam and she did my teeth evaluation. She mentioned lot of filling I need. I was so worried, because my previous dentist evaluated and never said any fillings..How in 6 months I would need lot of fillings? I was myself worried and came to the front desk and they gave another shock that my insurance is out of network, I checked with them prior the visit if they covered..they said it is in network..They called the insurance and confirmed again it is not covered. They charged me some amount.Then I have to call my insurance and resolve this and it is in network. With all the dissatisfied came back home and start looking for another dentist for my second opinion. He said I do not require any fillings and all the fillings Dr. Lam mentioned are stains. I was so happy that I had the second opinion. Doctor should have known the difference on the teeth filling and stains. Why they want to do fillings on the tooth which has stains? It is always good to go with second opinion when you are not sattisfied. They talk too much technical terms loudly which we do not understand. Forget to mention one more thing, They take photos of the tooth with minute camera which has stains and feel you it has cavity. PEOPLE JUST BE AWARE, DO NOT DO FILINGS ON TEETH WHICH HAS STAINS. read more

Has a USMC Veteran, I was sent to Dr. KIM via Community Care. He and his staff are fantastic. The practice is ahead of its time with Technology, but old fashion regarding caring, and understanding. I've gone to this dental office since 2010. Myself and my husband and now our teenager daughter. At one point they had a steady staff that's professional. They've experienced a TON of turnover and this office just continues to go downhill. Unfortunately Dr.Kim's bedside manner is terrible. He doesn't go over anything in detail and never even shows me an X-Ray to properly explain what's going on with my teeth at even given time. I had a crown put on 2 years ago after a root canal and it was the worse dental experience of my life. His office treated me with such lack of concern its jarring. It took over a month for them to finally figure out that I needed a root canal and then once I had it and had the crown put on I had many problems from there. Which I complained about more than 5 times. I made it clear that my bite still felt off and awkward and they continued to shave down on it. At one point I mentioned it to the dental hygienist before a cleaning and she brought it up to him when he came in for the exam and he didn't even touch that conversation. Here I am 2 years later and I'm being told I have a open margin on my crown and it needs to be replaced again. I called the office over a week ago and complained about the tooth and asked to be refunded for my crown that I paid out of pocket for. I do not feel comfortable returning for them to fix anything. 9 days later they're office manager ( Karen bc that's what she was acting like) returns. No one felt the need to call me back bc they didn't consider it a health issue, they felt it was just a " financial issue," and could wait for her return. After they told me they'd call me back the following day. I left messages several times and spoke to Tiffany and told her it was a health issue and the crown has been bothering me. Karen proceeds to call me back with a complete attitude today after she's fresh off her vacation. She kept speaking over me the whole conversation and blaming the open margin on other things and basically said teeth shift. She was down right nasty to me and my husband and said there was nothing they're willing to do further to meet my request. She kept questioning me instead of listening. So again here we are. Instead of speaking to me with some decency and concern she was rude as can be and let us know how long she's been with the office and so forth. Although in 12 years I have no clue who she is. I've known every office manager they've had which they both left. I've actually wanted to leave this office for awhile however it was close to home and I didn't want to search all over again to be honest. And at one point the previous office managers always made me feel comfortable and had great response times. But at this point, I'm done and my whole family will be leaving. You would think Dr.Kim would take the time to call and speak to patients that have been with him over 10 years but nope. He got his money and he's not concerned. Again his bedside manor has been less than pleasant for awhile now and I will no longer continue to ignore it. Beware getting any major work done at this office, I had the worse experience there is. I will definitely be going to the board and fighting this further. read more

0/10 experience simply because of the office staff. the front desk staff were rude and sassy from the phone to in person. one of the office memebers waited until after 6pm to call me the day before my appointment to tell me I needed to contact the insurance company. I called over two weeks prior with insurance information so this could've been handled with insurance. then I get to the appointment and no notes were made about what was communicated to me the night before. The chair I got in for my X-rays were filthy hair all over the seat doesn't even look like the plastic was changed. Then I was moved to another room for a cleaning nothing was set up or ready. wishing dr Kim was here but the lady dr that came in was okay once again reminding me how long it's been since going to the dentist. the constant reminder would probably discourage most so they should keep that to a minimum. ive been going to dr Kim since 16 at lease I am now 31. I know how his old staff was pleasant and greeted you by name before even entering. it's not enough to be good be phenomenal in healthcare. I came in with my teeth in bad shape, several cavities and two severely broken molars. Dr. Kim told me that I was in danger of losing them. So naturally they set me up with a deep cleaning- three months later. My molars keep breaking into smaller pieces and have gotten infected and still he does nothing about them 'because the cleaning has to come first'. So I waited three months and came in for the cleaning to be told they don't offer happy gas. Okay, I can deal. They numb up both sides of my mouth (against their usual policy, because it's dangerous I was told) via shots, and despite realizing that they forgot to numb the bottom half of my mouth and the center, begin to work. I was sobbing, and I have a high pain threshold. They came back in and shot me back up. Then someone from the front desk came in and said that they weren't allowed to do both sides of my mouth in one day per my insurance, so they had numbed my mouth and put me through those injections unnecessarily. The woman cleaning my teeth preached at me about how "God makes us work for good teeth by not giving us all the answers" and sent me home. I was unable to open my mouth fully for almost a week afterwards. I contact my insurance company and asked them about this ridiculous policy and I was informed that my dentist's office had been informed IN WRITING of a change in policy allowing my whole mouth to be done a week prior to my visit. All of that pain for nothing and here I sit with a half cleaned mouth, cavities untreated, an infected mouth, two shattered molars, and immense pain three months later with no end in sight. I can barely eat or sleep from the pain and I didn't switch because I believed this practice had my best interests at heart and were doing their best. I'm switching dentists. This was a horrific experience. I could have been healthy, pain free and treated MONTHS ago. read more

I am terrified of going to the dentist. Quite frankly, I'm a big baby. I've had a broken upper wisdom tooth for quite some time, causing huge amounts of pain, that I have been putting off getting taken care of. A family friend recommended Dr. Kim's office to me, so I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment. I went in on 12/11/14 and was greeted and checked in by very friendly staff. I was in a lot of pain and wasn't able to get some xrays done on the left side of my mouth, but the girl taking care of me (Tina I think), was very understanding and patient...and gave me tissues to wipe my tears. She had Dr. Kim come in to check the issue and see how to proceed. Dr. Kim was very friendly and patient as well, he checked out my mouth and we talked about pulling it. I was concerned about cost because I was still in the waiting period with my dental insurance and would be paying out of pocket, so one of the other, very friendly, staff came back with the paper of what it would cost (which was much less than what another dentist had told me), and I said ok and cried some more because I was so scared to get the procedure done. So Dr. Kim came back with the other girl that was taking care of me to get started, and they were so patient with me (I was blubbering pretty hard at this point), they explained everything that was going on and what to expect every step of the way. I pretty much left my body during the procedure, LoL, I just hunkered down and got it done, didn't make them stop at any point. It wasn't bad at all, I was just so happy to have that darn tooth gone!! So it was done, Yay! I headed up front to check out and pay and several of the staff were gathered up there and said they had good news, that Dr. Kim wasn't going to charge me and Merry Christmas!!! OMG More tears!! I couldn't believe it!! Literally, one of the nicest things that has happened to me! Especially after all the stress of going through all that, and especially after all my crying, you'd think they'd have charged me more for having to put up with me!! I have lots of other work to be done on my teeth and look forward to having Dr. Kim and his staff take care of me in the future.
