I ordered from here for the first time last Friday, after seeing a post on Nextdoor of their Arthur Ave. Sandwich. It did not disappoint!!! It was very fresh with grilled chicken, mozzarella, red pepper and balsamic glaze. Of course I had to order a pizza also and it was one of the best I've had since moving here from NY 10 years ago! We were in the area and wanted something familiar and quick with the kids and I've driven by this place for many years and always wanted to give it a try. The place is small and has tables along the windows going to the back of the restaurant. It's not fancy by any means and the staff and customers seem to all know each other by name, which I find great. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and spaghetti and meatballs and they all came out great, although I didn't take a picture of it, the garlic rolls were fantastic, definitely on the top of all time favorites. Staff was super friendly and always checked up on us. One thing that stuck out to me were the plates and bowls, they're abit odd and dated, they're all plastic and squared, kind of cafeteria-esque. Visiting West Palm Beach and came across this pizzeria on Yelp. Now I'm a Jersey girl and know my pizza. My hubby and I were surprised that the pizza was actually ok. The pie needed to be cooked a few minutes more to get a little crisp but overall we were satisfied. The girl that helped us was very nice. They were very busy. They sell wine and beer if you want to sit down and eat there. My in-laws were very happy since they do not order out at all. For an XL pie we paid $19.00 compared to usually a $24 large pie in NJ. Started with the antipasto and Garlic knots. followed by a ziti and white clam sauce and an Xtra large pizza half meatball and half white pie with spinach. the antipasto was ok, could have used more meat and cheese, Pizza was ok for Florida Pizza but not NY. Traditional Italian pizza joint, I went for lunch on a Monday the special was $5.95 for two large cheese slices and a soda. Yes you may add any amount of toppings for $.60: what a deal right?! The venue is in Shopping plaza, so it isn't a huge spot but good size for dining in. The pizza was delicious and authentic, freshly made and super cheesy! My favorite part of the visit was the team of guys that work there!! Holy Moly, they are super friendly, funny, quick with the orders and very welcoming! We stopped here for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. The place was packed and people waited for seats. This is a small narrow restaurant on the end of a strip shopping center with everything from a movie theater to a Spanish supermarket and a goodwill site. They get a lot of locals here and people working in the neighborhood too. They do a big take out biz as well. We were able to snag a seat when a guy waiting for his takeout order got up. It was good timing. We'd ordered a pizza delivered from this place many, many years ago. We didn't care for it. I'm not sure if the people running the restaurant have changed, but after reading some recent yelp review we thought we'd give it another shot. When we came in, I went to the ladies room and passed by all the tables. I saw what everyone else was eating. Looking at the pizza I didn't think I'd like their crust. But everything else looked wonderful. We each ordered a hot sub sandwich. He got sausage parmigiana and I got a meatball parmigiana. The portion was quite large. My meatball sub was cut in half with three large meatballs topped with savory sauce and melted cheese on each half. The meatballs were wonderful. I could only get through half my sandwich. He was going to take half of his home, too, but found he loved his so much that he couldn't stop eating! I definitely want to return to try some of their pasta dishes. And their touted garlic rolls. The meat sauce on one neighbor's spaghetti looked quite good as did the small antipasto salad two ladies were sharing. They have a frequent lunch diner card. They stamp it each time you come. After 10 stamps you get $7 off. Almost a free meal depending on what you order. Ask for one on your way out. You'll be back, like we will.. read more

I'm a snowbird who has been going to Tomatoes for years. I usually spend about six months in the area. We always enjoyed the great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. A few months ago one of the staff told me Tomatoes had just been sold. So now there is a new owner. In early January I ordered am Italian sub. the sub had about one-third of the meat in it that it used to have. I wrote it off as the must have had a new employee making subs. Later that same week I ordered an Antipasto Salad and 3 pizzas for a small party we were having. When she told me the price I thought it was very high and asked her to double check. She grabbed a menu, explained that the new owner increase the prices in January, but she took the time to check every price. The price of a medium pepperoni pizza went from $12.25 to $18.45!! That's a 61% increase. A large sausage pizza went from $14.00 to $20.45!! That's a 68% increase. The large antipasto salad only went up 42%. Such a deal! Thanked her and paid the bill. I took the menu home and randomly checked over a dozen items. The items I checked had a price increase of between 41% and 71%. That Italian sub I had ordered earlier went up 46% with one third of the meat. We all know the price of food is going up, but this is gouging, and the recipe for failure. Goodbye Tomatoes! read more

Had a craving for pizza after driving through the lake worth area and decided to do a little yelping. I saw that they have a special going on for a large cheese pizza for about $10 on Monday, tuesday, and Wednesday for pick up. I decided to check this place out. Man, this was a good pizza. The fort Lauderdale area is slacking on a good authentic pie. There are only two spots that I personally recommend for a decent New York replica. This place comes pretty damn close, I was impressed. The employees are extremely friendly and pleasant. Our order was taken promptly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a no-frills pizza joint. Very clean, and noce place to enjoy your meal. I over heard several other customers speaking highly about their dishes other than the pizza so it may be worth checking out for other menu items. All in all perfectly cooked, with a not-too-gooey, not-too-crispy New York style crust, not to heavy on the sauce, and perfect amount of cheese. This place is great on many levels. South Florida is full of little italian or pizza places and most of them are expensive, with long wait times, crowded, takes forever to get your food, and the service is horrible. Tomatoes is kinda the opposite of all that. Prices are reasonable coming in at around $10 for pasta plates which come with salads and appetizer garlic rolls, $8 for hot meatball subs, and $6 for two slice and soda combos. The pizza was thin and massive, the salad was big, the meatballs were huge, bread was good, pasta tasty, and garlic rolls delicious. All the employees were friendly and attentive without being weirdos - down to earth. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed without too much noise. Recommended coming here with the family or for a date, especially if you are gonna be going to the movie theater in the same complex. Definitely go here instead of the crappy Olive Garden adjacent. Only recommendation to the store owners would be to make meatballs a little less dense. I'd like it better if it were more moist and easy to cut/chew. read more

This place is such a classic pizza joint. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the food has always been so good. Every time I'm back home I always make sure to stop by. I's nothing fancy, and not in the best area, but the hole in the wall places always have the best food & service. I highly recommend the baked ziti dinner (only baked ziti I'll ever order out, soooo cheesy with the perfect amount of sauce, & bake) the pizzas, and the garlic rolls. We tried Tomatoes on a weekday night for takeout. Upon arriving and checking their menu we were pleased to see they have 18 inch size extra large pies, fairly priced. We ordered one with pepperoni. The staff was friendly and personable. Interior has enough tables and space that it is both a dine in and takeout place. The pizza itself had a nice aroma, but we just didn't care for the sauce, which I felt tasted "franchise-ie" and off. The cheese could have been better as well (it also fragmented a little rather than a solid melt). We also noticed the pie cooked somewhat unevenly. Tomatoes was a pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting this good of a pizzeria in this part of Greenacres. Needing to pick up a large bacon pizza, I was recommended this place, and boy, do they deliver. Located off of Lake Worth Road, Tomatoes is tucked away on the east side corner of a crowded-looking plaza. When you walk inside, the place has the feel of some of the typical pizzerias I was used to frequenting back home outside of Boston. Most importantly, the pizza is legit. I ordered a x-large double bacon pizza for a little get-together, and, wow. The pizza was sooooooo good, between the crust, the dough, the sauce, especially the bacon -- plentiful and savory. The people behind the counter were great. Super down-to-earth and friendly, Tomatoes is a neighborhood pizza joint, for sure, and they make great pizza. Additionally, they have table service, so if you wanted to go there with your friends and family for a little dinner (they have other items besides pizza), you'll be able. We ordered pizza and a salad Togo. We picked it up. I am not sure if they offer delivery. ( my boyfriend did the ordering) they seemed busy when we got there but, it was a Friday night! Order seemed to take a while even though we called ahead 20 minutes. Pizza was a Hawaiin pizza. It was good but nothing too speical. The salad was wet. The lettuce did not seem to be dried properly. I AM No longer a regular customer at TOMsumutoS because they had very poor PM staff working and rudely said they dont have their signature daily special always available in the past I wanted it today. 2 slices of pizza and a cold coke cola for 6 bucks and wont and don't want to make a whole pizza pie. I ordered here ahead of time by 4 hours. Dude was awesome on the phone. Took my order, price was right. I got large cheese and added a topping and made half with no cheese and mushrooms and antipasta salad for only $25. She repeated order when I picked up so I didn't really feel the need to check plus hard to check if no cheese. I get all the way to my meeting an the whole pizza HAS NO CHEESE. I was so upset, I didn't call cause what's the point I was so in BOYNTON and I needed the dinner so we just ate it.
