I am thrilled to write this review for the owners and staff of OC Martial Arts. My 10 yo son has been a student for the past 4 months and he absolutely loves coming to the studio! I have seen significant improvement in his self confidence, physical agility, and overall coordination since he started taking lessons. Master Kris, Master Elliot, Master Andrew, and Master Robert are all outstanding teachers and really foster each students' growth. The effort that goes into planning each class is evident by the rapid skills growth that my son, but really all students, have gained. The studio also offers a birthday party special and it is truly red carpet service! My son chose to have the self defense lesson followed by a nerf gun battle. Masters Kris and Elliot played along and joined 20 wild kids for over an hour on the mat in the nerf battle and they didn't even break a sweat!! I on the other hand had to refuel with pizza and water about 30 min in . Ms Michelle orchestrated the pizza delivery and cupcakes for my son's party & they even accommodated our request to come early to set up decorations so my husband and I didn't miss any of the self defense lesson or nerf war. They were super response to all of our questions and consistently go the extra mile. I think what makes OC Martial Arts different is the community that they foster. They encourage parents to get out on the mat & take lessons with their kids. They have seating available during classes for parents to watch and connect with one another. And Master Kris and Ms Michelle look for opportunities to bring everyone together - whether it's a summer bbq and water fight at the park or treats and an indoor snowball fight to celebrate the holidays, this studio will teach your child to train hard, never quit, and to always make room for fun! read more

We've been going here for about 6 months now with our daughters who are 6 & 7. They teach so much more than Taekwondo! They teach your child to live by the "Tenets of Taekwondo" courtesy, integrity, perseverance, respect & self control-in class and out! My kids love the classes they always get a great workout and feel good about themselves. For the first few weeks they got a little bored but once they pushed through and started to get good at the moves they couldn't get enough! Master Kris & Miss Daphne are great with the kids, they are so good at what they do and balance it well with teaching the kids! The parking lot is challenging getting in & out of, so give yourself a few extra minutes in case there's traffic. OC Martial Arts & Fitness has been a blessing during this pandemic. My daughter was starting to feel the negative effects of quarantine, so we thought we'd sign her up for some fun classes. She decided she wanted to "be a ninja," so we looked up some Taekwondo studios. OC Martial Arts was giving a free trial, and had virtual (zoom) classes. I called and Master Kris answered. He clearly has a passion for martial arts and it shows in his commitment to not only customer service and communication, but also in his thorough curriculum and home practice opportunities (for which they get stripes and raffle entries for). Ms Daphne has gone above and beyond expectations (and I have high expectations lol)! We tried another martial arts place and it wasn't really geared towards young children, which is what we were looking for. This class has 3-5 year olds together, whereas the other studio has 4 - 14 year olds. Needless to say, the pace and the class just wasn't right for us. Our 4 yr old son loves martial arts, but he was quite shy and didn't want to participate at first. Ms Daphne went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable. By the end of the lesson he was having a blast! Although, he got over some of his fears he burst into tears the second lesson (again he can be very shy), but Ms Daphne was able able to put him at ease with his dad's help. I love how she never gave up on our son, she let a parent participate to get our son acclimated to the environment, and even mailed us a card directly to our son with words of encouragement and a cool drawing of our son! She has been great with follow-up and the classes focus on both physical and mental strength. Definitely some great teachings and also how to handle situations with strangers. Have many classes available and you can go to as many as you want for the same monthly fee. They have great events on the side like "how to work as a team" classes.
