I can't believe I stumbled upon this studio, it is a treasure. I came upon this studio by happen stance because it is close to my kid's school. The parking is great, location is convenient and easy to get to. The professor and the people who practice here make it special. The higher belts are not trying to destroy the white belts. All have been really good about teaching the beginners and have made it enjoyable. There is no ego here but a lot of comradery like a family. Also for those that want to practice intensely, the professor allows that in a good environment for all skill levels. I think a lot of places, people can get hurt, but the studio has done a good job of preventing that kind of environment. The professor is accessible and always teaching class, which is a big bonus! My daughters 6 and 7 are taking the children's classes as well and having the time of their lives. I like the fact that he is making BJJ enjoyable and effective. Mamute Jiujitsu is exactly the place we've been looking for. Our girls are 6 & 7 and both look forward to classes. It's the right amount of training and fun. They warm up, do some training exercises and then learn a couple of moves, end the class with rolling and then finally some games. It goes by so fast and the girls are picking up new techniques in an easy and enjoyable way. They come home and practice on each other. My husband also joined and I was super wary bc I've heard of middle aged men getting injured and being out of commission with any type of activity and exercise. It's been intense for him and he's sore but luckily he hasn't gotten injured. The community is really friendly and tries to help him learn. It's tough but no one's trying to flex and let their ego get the best of them. I love this type of community and I think the owners do a great job of fostering that. If you want to find a dojo that's more like Mr. Miyagis vs Cobra Kai, this is definitely the place! A family owned dojo that makes you want to come back grow and learn! read more

My son has been going here for almost a year now and he loves it. He loves Bruno and I thank him for putting up with my wild child. Max has been competing for couple of times now and each match it builds up his confident. In the beginning he was really shy and wouldn't want to compete in tournaments and now all he wants to do is practice every Tuesday and Thursday to prep for his tournament. So glad I found this studio. I don't live in the area but I am willing to drive down for class for my kids. Very family friendly. Professor Bruno is awesome. He teaches every class and participate in his classes. He makes the class fun and encourages the kids to do what they can. He doesn't force the kids to do the exercises and wait for them to be ready. My child has built confidence in group activities after coming to his classes. He's patience with the kids. Both my kids are currently in the toddler class. 25 minutes. Activities include: Warm up, animal exercises, jujitsu technique, and a game at the end. The older kids do similar exercises and it also challenges them at their level. I love training here. Professor Bruno and Coach Vincent have nothing but good vibes. I usually train in the morning class with Coach Vincent and he is great at explaining and demonstrating the skill were are learning for the week. He gives positive criticism and detail to help us master our skills. He has helped improve my stand-up game tremendously the last few months. I have only sparred a few times in the afternoon class with Professor Bruno (just because of my schedule), but his teachings are second to none. I'm a second degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. A friend invited me to a 10 am class and it was a great experience. I've been to a lot of jiu-jitsu schools, and Mamute Jiu-Jitsu checked all the boxes of a great jiu-jitsu place. It was very clean, climate control was on the entire time so very enjoyable, students were very friendly with no ego, and the most important the instruction. The instruction was top notch. It is my experience that most school teach jiu-jitsu techniques in how to do way. Example, they teach the steps to do a choke or an arm lock, sometimes the right sometime the wrong. The class I took at Mamute Jiu-Jitsu, the technique was thought the right way in a how to may, but also in a WHY way, so the students learn how to do it but also why we do it like that. Bruno "Mamute" Paulista is a World Class Jiu Jitsu Competitor, Professor, but Most of All, a World Class Person! My father also trains here, and competes/wins in a lot of the major tournaments. I saw another review, and it said Jiu-Jitsu is for Everyone, I believe it doesn't matter how old, young, male, female, or condition you're in, it will change your life. Another plus, is that everyone here is very respectful, helpful, and without ego. I don't get to train very much, as I am now in the Fire Academy. Earlier this year, we signed both my kids (Mylo 7 and Mia 6) to Mamute Jiujitsu and they absolutely love it. They are both very involved with other sports, but due to the flexible schedule are able to continue with their jiujitsu training.
