My 2 sons have been attending JS Black Belt with Master Chae for 1 year. My boys are 5 and 10. In the year I've seen them have better posture, more flexible (my little one can do the splits) and more endurance. Both do sports and skills and techniques they learn from Master Chae carries over to other sports. They play soccer and basketball. The one thing I appreciate most about Master Chae is his discipline. If they are late they do push ups, if they forget their belt its push ups. I think it's to my kids benefit that they learn this at a young age. They love Master Chae and knows they are cared for but they also respect him greatly and would not cross the line with him either. This is hard to find in any kids program. I also love that he offers the option to attend the TKD competition. The work gets harder but Master Chae is a perfectionist so he trains them well to have the potential of winning gold. I love seeing how training under Master Chae has grown my boys. Just made it past my 5 years starting on my 6th year ! Spent my late forties here getting my health back I have been in poor health most of my adult life but recently in some of the best health I've been since I was 17 18 athletically. Too many good things to say on Yelp about J.S. Black Belt Academy taekwondo. My whole family goes here. Both of my kids (girls) have won gold medals in either Poomsae or Sparring at the U.S. Junior Tae Kwon Do Championship and my wife is more flexible than ever. Need I say more? But I must say more, for this Master It's not about the competitions. Master Chae teaches the martial art of Tae Kwon Do but also teaches a whole list of other things everyone should live their lives by. Students learn self confidence, respect for others and to obey their parents. Whether you want your kids to learn self defense, get in shape or learn some self control, this is the only place in Orange County I'd send my kids. If I ever moved I'd drive a long way to continue my lessons with Master Chae. Adult classes are separate from kids and very challenging but not impossible, even if you're in your late forties or older you can enjoy these classes. If you're in very good shape I think you would still find classes challenging but don't let this scare you away, if your not. From the time you're a white belt Master Chae will push you to do your best but also not to over do it. I hope to see you in class. This is the best Martial Art Studio by far. Yes, it is a little too late to start to learn Martial Art, however, Master Chae welcome me to the class and motivated me to continue on. He has been patient in teaching me right Poomsae, Kicking, punching, stance. I saw how he works hard to be able to share his knowledge. Not only that. He teaches the kids the true way of life of Tae Kwon Do. To live the tenets of Tae Kwon do and know it by heart. Basically, he teaches the kids to be a good defender of themselves and a good person as well. I see kids getting medals on the competition. 4 years in and my daughter is now a 1st degree blackbelt and will be testing for her 2nd degree in June 2016. The program is rigorous with 3x's a week classes including sparring. The blackbelt classes on Tuesday evenings are intense and run about 1.5 hrs. With 4 WTF Tournaments under her belt, my daughter is now leading classes as one of the leaders and should earn her Jr. Instructor certification soon. Pretty amazing seeing how much my daughter has grown in her form and discipline. My son who is 8 will be testing for his Jr. Blackbelt (black-red) after 4 years in the program. He hopes to earn his blackbelt in Dec 2016. I am very happy and satisfied with Master Che and Instructor Yi's guidance and instruction. In only a few months our son has been able to gain confidence, not only in Tae Kwon Do, but also helped him become focused in other areas such as school and other sports too! Can I give 6 stars? JS Black Belt Academy has been wonderful for our family. We signed up our 10 year old daughter a couple of years ago, and about 6 months later, my husband and I signed up. It's a hard workout (I challenge you :), but so much fun. Master Chae has a way of making you fall in love with Tae Kwon Do. He's much more respectful, flexible and just loves to go to his classes. Master Chae is so wonderful with all the children. On top of teaching them all the techniques, discipline, respect, teamwork and honor, he teaches them to believe in themselves.
