So, when we were in Milton and saw there was one with the actual pig statue out front there was no question, we had to go. Honestly, the statue alone made it worth a stop. And yes, people were staring at us as we did our photo op but you only live once. It was silly and nostalgic. This is one of the oldest grocery store chains around and you definitely feel that old school vibe when you walk in. It's not fancy but it's somewhere in between a convenience store and a grocery store, which is interesting. They had a lot of unique snacks that we didn't see other places and a couple of good deals too. I will say the vibe through us off a bit. There were multiple people soliciting in the parking lot and the area right around the store felt a little rough. It's next to a trailer park or something and the overall energy just felt off. Not dangerous or anything, just uncomfortable enough that we didn't want to hang out for too long. It's a shame too because they had a buffet inside which was wild but it was super cheap and if we had felt more comfortable, we probably would have tried it but instead we took our photos, grabbed a few snacks for the road and headed out. This isn't really a place I would come to regularly, but it was a cool novelty stop and I absolutely loved the New Orleans Big boys gooey cakes in mint chocolate that I got here. It's my new addiction. I would probably come back just for that.

I'm not from around here, coming from South Florida, this place always caught my eye when I drove by. On my most recent trip, I finally decided to go in and check it out... and I'm so glad I did! This cute, southern, country-style supermarket is exactly what you'd hope for from a hometown market. It's cozy, warm and feels like a step back in time in the best way possible. There's a comforting, neighborly vibe that's hard to find these days. But let's talk about what really won me over: their buffet food. Oh. My. Goodness.!! At just $6.99/lb, this buffet is an absolute steal--and everything I tried was piping hot and freshly made. I won't even bother listing it all, but just know... I loved every single bite!! The potato wedges were seasoned to perfection, the fried chicken was golden and flavorful, and the catfish? Incredible. Just look at the photo I took of my container... Every bite was better than the last. I even left wishing I had grabbed a second container, because there were still entrees and side on that buffet line I didn't get to try. Next time, that's the plan. Two containers without caring what others think! Lol. The only tiny downside? I really wanted to buy a souvenir t-shirt but they didn't have my size in stock. Still, that didn't take away from what was an all-around amazing experience. I truly wish we had a Piggly Wiggly down by me. Until then, I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. This place is a southern gem... Don't pass it up!

Walking into that store feels less like grocery shopping and more like accidentally wandering into a tourist-trap convenience store wearing a Publix costume. Everything is pristine. Everything is organized. Everything is friendly. And everything costs an absolutely absurd amount of money. A quick trip for a few basics turns into a receipt that looks like you accidentally bought groceries for a small wedding. You grab a few staples such as milk, eggs, sandwich meat, maybe a jar of mayo and suddenly you're staring at a total that makes you wonder if the cashier slipped a Rolex and a beach condo deposit into your bag. And the worst part is that nothing about the experience justifies it. This isn't some boutique organic market. It's just a normal Publix that realized it sits between Seaside vacation rentals and Highway 30A tourists with sunburns and no other options. The pricing feels less like inflation and more like a calculated shakedown of anyone within five miles who needs groceries. And this isn't just imagination. Publix has been getting hammered by shoppers across Florida for prices that can run 30-50% higher than competitors on basic items. People are literally posting receipts online because they can't believe how much they paid for ordinary groceries. That's exactly how this store feels. You walk in thinking: "Publix -- where shopping is a pleasure." You walk out thinking: "Publix -- where shopping is a financial mugging with fluorescent lighting." Sure, the employees are nice. Sure, the floors are clean. But none of that makes it easier to swallow paying vacation-town ransom prices for groceries that cost dramatically less literally anywhere else. The Seagrove/Seaside Publix isn't a grocery store. It's a well-lit toll booth for people who ran out of food on 30A.
