I was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital because I was having heart attack symptoms and the…read moreambulance team said it was the closest hospital. I didn't want to go there because my husband had died due to lack of care there in January of this year. At the emergency room i asked if my cardiologist was a practicing physician there and they said yes! So I decided I would stay because they hadn't gotten my chest pain under control after multiple doses of nitroglycerin in the ambulance and the ER. The IV the EMT placed was blown in the ER when they started an IV drip of nitroglycerin. I then waited over an hour for someone who could use an ultrasound to find my vein for it. They then blew three more veins! The last one was blown #5 in the CT scan when they tried to do a saline practice flush prior to the contrast. I warned them to go slower than normal because my veins were fragile, but he didn't and my vein blew up to the size of a baseball! I screamed out in pain and said I couldn't allow them to do another IV! The nurse said if they didn't put in an IV, I couldn't be treated or tested further. So I should make up my mind to leave! So I signed out! I wanted to go to another hospital where my doctor was supposed to be working. After my ride arrived, I called my doctors office and they told me that my doctor had never worked at Countryside! So they had lied to me from the beginning! made a follow up appointment with my cardiologist and he said if the pain returned to go straight to Morton Plant hospital and call him and he would come right to the hospital! I'm furious because they pulled the same thing on my husband and he was dead five days later! There's no reason or excuse for them to lie and get away with it! By the way, any time I have put a complaint in to the Baycare system, they call it "unfounded" and dismiss it! Not this time! I could have lost my life because of their sloppy ineptitude! If you have any emergency, call your doctor and find out if they have rights to practice there! Otherwise, go wherever they direct you!

Dr. John is a gem. Truly…read more I had a minor emergency on a Saturday after de-boarding a cruise in Ft Lauderdale. I stubbed my toe on my luggage and the entire big toe came off and was sticking straight up and down but still attached at the base. It was horrendous, and gory and painful. I was panicked and unsure what to do - should I go to emergency room? Can I wait till Monday and go to podiatrist? I'm literally in an unfamiliar city, 4 hours from home, by myself and not knowing what to do. I ended up searching for Podiatrists near my home city of Clearwater and read through a few... well Dr John ended up being like 5 or 6 down on the list and something about his profile and info that just felt right. I called and even though they were closed there was a phone # for emergencies so I called and left a voicemail. Dr John called me back within 5 minutes!! I explained the situation, he put me at ease and told me I could wait until Monday and that he'd have the office call me first thing Monday morning to fit me into the schedule. Well sure enough, 9am rolled around and they called. My experience with the Doctor as well as his office was so great. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Apparently I have a fairly extreme phobia/anxiety of foot/toenail issues and was basically having a downright "fight or flight" reaction. I was so afraid of the pain of having to have my big toenail taken off, and afraid of the sounds of the procedure, afraid the numbing wouldn't work, etc... I was a downright wreck!!! But the ladies in the office were sweet and brought me water and mints to help try and keep me calm, and reassured me the doctor is so sweet and gentle. Well they were so right. He came in with a big smile and so kind. He explained everything he was about to do before doing it, so that nothing was a surprise. He made small talk to try and divert my attention, and was just generally a very nice man. While the shots hurt like a b*tch, that was the worst part. I didn't feel anything after that. Afterwards, while we were talking he even mentioned that if I had needed to stay in Ft Lauderdale initially he had already been thinking of names of other doctors he knows and would've called them to get me in, and all I could think was - this man is amazing!! The thoughtfulness really won me over. While I hope I don't have to see Dr John very often in the future, I'm SO extremely grateful for he and his office!!! I'm so glad that for whatever reason I was drawn to his office over the other ones. He's the exact man I was supposed to see, to help fix me up. The universe lined me up with an exception man to help get me healed and calmed. LOL So would I recommend him? Absolutely, hands-down, without a doubt YES! Highly recommend his office.

I have met with Dr. DiDonna on several occasions (pre- and post-lab work), and unlike pretty much every other doctor I have seen in recent memory, Dr. DiDonna has been the only health care practitioner to actually ASK me how I'm feeling as opposed to just reading results from a computer screen. And a special shout-out to Brit at the front desk who was super helpful in getting my insurance situation sorted out and was extremely efficient in scheduling my appointment and follow-up. She is so nice and helpful, I can only imagine her job is super stressful! Can't say enough good things about Dr. DiDonna and the crew at Dunedin Pediatrics--since my first appointment, I'm actually OFF of three prescriptions and have been feeling the best I've felt in years (I'm a 41 year old guy). If you want to see a medical professional who cares about your well being, definitely consider making an appointment. I know I'll be a patient for life (and if Dr. DiDonna ever moves, I'll be following him)!

I was later told this is a new location for them but still, everything looked brand new and unused. The very friendly receptionist told me that since I have a Medicare Advantage plan, it was best to make 2 appointments as one thing I needed was covered with Advantage Vision Insurance and another basic Medicare. The rules state they can't bill for both in one visit. No one has ever mentioned that before and it saved me $. After about a 2 minute wait, a tech came and got me. Started with the basic eye exam. Much more thorough than any I have had before. Techs did all the work then had me wait for the optometrist who went over everything, checked it and answered all my questions. I saw Dr. Liffland who came across as a bit of an ice queen but was amazingly patient, smart and informative. She took time to pull out of me any questions I might have. Then it was back to make another appointment for a about 2 weeks in the future. That was for a macular degeneration scan. Again, 2 minute wait before being checked out by several techs then taken into an office to see Dr. Liffland. Again, amazingly informative. I was first diagnosed with age related macular degeneration a least a decade ago so this was not my first rodeo with the procedure. Again, this time was more in depth and comprehensive than I have ever had before. Again, Dr. Liffland patiently pried me for questions or concerns and was truly informative and reassuring. I've been in Clearwater 10 years now and tried a few different places looking for the right one for vision care and now I have found it.
