He n his practice are quite diligent in evaluating you n preparing you for surgery, the recovery process, and end result. I relieved top notch care. Pain was managed quite well. No complications. Close, frequent post op visits to monitor healing. Staff is wonderful. I'm now 4mo post op and am pleased with my results. 9 lbs of fat n excess gone. While I don't have a 6 pack stomach I have a flat stomach. 2 inches of my waist!! I highly recommend this practice. Dr. O'Brian has 30+ years of experience n expertise

I went to see him because I was interested in several surgeries and not one was offered to me not even did I receive a phone call giving me a quote to at least one surgery. I was honest about my back issues I have from a vehicle accident and bad back surgeries as a result I can't stand straight so the extra weight I have from my breast and belly make it more challenging to stand straight. I have to have my back fused there is no choice if I want to walk straight again. So to make my back recovery better and faster I have to have some weight taken off from my belly and beast this is why I need to get that done before the back fuse. Well he said he would talk with his team and see how he felt about doing the surgeries. I have no problem with anesthetics I am always getting different procedures done regarding my back. I told him I can provide rec I have no illnesses it's just the back issue well he concentrated more on my piercing than the real reason I was there I was humiliated and judged over my piercing just because he thinks it's disgusting it was so bad he made me cry right there in his office never have I been so humiliated in a so called professional place. His assistant was so much more respectful and at least showed care while it was probably fake at least she did her job. I was treated as if I went to beg for charity for my surgeries or as if I was someone off the streets. Even after all the humiliation I felt, to this day I never received a phone call to at least say "No" that he would not do it. Maybe my money is not green enough however I will NEVER RECOMMEND a place or Dr like him to place and trust a life in his hands. if he can just judge and humiliate someone because of personal preference then he is not the one. I wonder how many people he has done this to? I only have two piercings on my face. The Maryland Monroe above my lip and it's a very small diamond and another by the side of my left eye also very small diamond. Just for that I was taken for granted, disrespected and judged as if I was truly off the street. and if so they are also human and regardless deserve respect. it's a shame how some doctors once they have a name built they forget the oath and reason they choose that career in the first place. I will never recommend this doc nor facility.

I have had hypertrophic breasts since I was 12 and never had the financial ability to get a reduction. My cervical spine hasn't had the proper curve since I was 24, there's an inward curve to my shoulders, and I have pain in my daily activities due to the weight and awkward size they have grown to over the years of stress and average life changes. When I finally had insurance who would partially cover a reduction *IF APPROVED* and only *after* a consultation with a plastic surgeon, I was referred to this person. Upon my visit, I was bombarded with the exact opposite of the visuals I needed emotionally and there was ONE bit of photo evidence to view of a reduction he had performed, as opposed to literally everything else you can imagine that makes one "prettier." During my exam, his vocal inflection was quite bored and annoyed. When discussing my weight, I explained my history of poverty trauma, the recent losses of three immediate family, my struggle with PTSD and depression, and that exercising is incredibly difficult with my breasts being so large for my 5'1" body. Immediately after this exact statement, he was taking my measurement around my ribcage under them and said, "Underneath all this, what is your true band size?" to which I had to clarify. "Do you mean under my fat -- what was my band size when I wasn't as fat??" and he said yes. I was hurt and disgusted, but answered anyway, clarifying that my band size on my current bra is irrelevant anyway because it accommodates the width of the cup I need. He didn't respond, was quite blunt during his assessment about what could be done, and when I requested a certain size, he basically said "not possible." This exam was in summer of 2019 and after being rejected by the insurance, I told this office I would not need their services again, nor do I want their future mailings. The insurance company gave no particular reason, but I had suspicions... I wrote it off as my bias making me angry and decided not to leave a review. Until today, when I received a birthday wish randomly from their office via an app called Kareo. Meaning this office retained my information, gave it to a third party without my consent, and ON MY BIRTHDAY, I get to sit here and relive being emotionally harmed by someone who is supposed to "remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug." Very cool. Great experience. Totally worth it 4 years later.

I was asked for my ID and to pay a 500. deposit before seeing the doctor. I thought that was strange. Why am I being charged prior to getting the fillers? I asked why and she explained to me that they had someone run out without paying...ummm ok but what does that have to do with me? I paid, gave a copy of my drivers license and filled out some long form then I was shown into the office. They took pictures of me before seeing the doctor! Now I'm starting to feel very uncomfortable. These steps to see a plastic surgeon were not something I encountered before. Dr. Newman comes in with 3-4 other women (nurses or who knows) and starts to discuss fillers. He was not the nicest guy. I found him to be off putting and arrogant. I would like to think he was having a bad day but it could be just his personality. I really don't know. I felt very violated and disrespected from the time I walked in until I left. I had had enough at this point and asked for my money back and left. The whole experience was so disheartening that I gave up on plastics until last year. I ended up finding a great surgeon in Sarasota! The experience was like night and day! I had fillers and a breast augmentation in Sarasota. Yelp friends, be sure to choose a super kind, polite and compassionate doctor. Don't settle for mediocracy and arrogance. Also, be sure you read REAL reviews from REAL people. Fake reviews usually don't have a picture of the reviewer. Fake reviews only have 1-4 reviews in total on their profile. Its not uncommon for staff, friends and family to hype up a business with bias reviews.

Others have raised similiar concerns about his care within the past two years be sure to do your reserach. Following a surgical procedure on March 25th, I developed a severe post-operative infection. For days, I messaged the doctor about my rapidly worsening symptoms, but my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. No basic diagnostic tests or workups were ever performed. When I finally saw the doctor in office, it was only a cursory examination. Later, when the infection became critical, and I informed the doctor of a new abscess forming and continued severe symptoms, I was completely ignored. The doctor refused to see me, stating I didn't need to be seen again as I had just been in the day before. Pushed out office visit 14 days. This is despite my repeated warnings of new, concerning symptoms. The very next day, I had to seek emergency medical care and was admitted to the hospital for four days with sepsis, requiring IV antibiotics. This critical situation was a direct result of failure to adhere to the most basic standards of medical care and a complete lack of duty to provide timely and appropriate treatment. The doctor's subsequent lack of remorse and empathy has been deeply disturbing and has further eroded any trust I had. His complete disregard to the most basic standards of care, I have never experienced from any doctor in a trusted possession such as his. The ongoing physical and emotional consequences of this negligence are severe. I urge anyone considering this doctor to seek care elsewhere to avoid a similar terrifying and dangerous experience. If you are reading this and have experienced similar, make sure you report to every possible social media and professional board.
