My battery was at the end of its life and I was able to get my car in same day and relatively fast. Huge thank you for helping me out in a pinch. I've come here in the past for oil changes and they always do quick and reliable work! I've moved so don't get to come here much but started a new job down the road from this location so it was very quick for them to look me up and help me out! The prices are what you'd expect from a chain but they're fast so it's worth the price. read more

I've been a lifelong Valvoline IOC customer, but their service has been degrading fast the past few years; coming to Tolsdorf's was a much better experience than anything I've had with VIOC in years. They were actually fast, courteous, and their waiting line (I was able to drive right in because they have 3 bays vs always 2 at VIOC) was much better setup and organized. VIOC always seems to choose the worst locations making getting in a hassle I would highly recommend giving Tolsdorf's a try - I can't imagine you'd be disappointed read more

No appointment needed. Very fast and professional service. The offered some extra services but were not pushy. I did ask for tire rotation. They declined and told me were to get it done. Which was very helpful. read more

My fiancée went to get his oil changed and was not told upfront how much it would be and before he knew it, they were already doing his oil change, and he didn't have time to tell them NO he didn't want it done by them. Thats so unprofessional in my opinion!! How do you run a business without the customer getting the information needed before the oil change? I have never run a business, but I know that I wouldn't pull a stunt like this one my customers like this ever!!! Poor communication will lead to a terribly ran company!!! read more

Great service, honest and they also have no issues with putting off small repairs! Great place.

Was looking for a place near my apt for oil change and heard about this place. Great customer service and was in and out in 30 mins! Free WiFi and k-cup machine while waiting was a plus. Located next to pnc bank on Pottstown pike and Target in exton area. Will Definitely will recommend this place to others. read more

This was my first time going here. I was way past due for an oil change and had been unable to make an appointment due to a busy work schedule. When I finally had a small block of time, I went here. No appointment required. The service was very fast and professional. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. They even vacuumed my car, which is always a treat. I appreciate their speed and service. My reservation was the cost. My car isn't anything fancy or high performance. They only offer synthetic oil, which bumps the price of the oil change up significantly. I ended up paying more then I usually would as a result. They were great in a pinch and the service was excellent. I'll have to weigh that against the cost in the future. read more

After many years of going elsewhere for oil changes, I decided to try Tolsdorf. Their price was not the lowest (pretty close, though), but the convenience and lack of hassles makes it a great choice! I recently had a need for a battery replacement in a Ford Escape. These are a bear to replace, as it involves removing an air filter assemble and takes a good amount of time and effort. I checked around and everywhere else was charging a lot of extra money to cover the labor. I priced a battery itself and considered installing it myself, but did not look forward to the work involved. I got a quote from Tolsdorf, and surprisingly, it was the same price as my purchasing the battery alone. I called back to double-check, and it was still the same. Had the battery replaced today. Paid the quoted price. Great work, and great people! Will be going back there anytime I need maintenance work! read more

Took a chance on a place I have never been to before, as it was on my commute to work. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, I wanted just a basic oil & filter change, they had a $41.99 deal for oil/filter/top off fluids/vacuum/air pressure, sold. I was in and out in 15 minutes, great customer service, courteous employees. Will surely go back again! Thanks guys! read more

Excellent service, friendly staff. I took my wife's car here today (way out of the way from where we live now) because of negative experiences with our local Jiffy Lube. I had used TOLE years ago and remembered them for good service. Well, they still have the same great service. Thanks! We will be back for our next oil change. read more

Incredibly fast and professional service. They don't try to push products on you. I would write more but the bottom line is this: these guys provide a service that the consumer wants for the right cost. I will only come here and encourage everyone else to come here for your needs. cheers to this staff --------- Was here today and double down on my above comments. Professional, friendly and not trying to extort money. I will only come here. This place is perfect. Thank you read more

I don't think I will ever go anywhere else to get my oil change. I never knew that getting your oil changed could be this easy! I had a coupon for $26.99 which included an Oil Change and multi-point vehicle inspection. They even took the time to vacuum out my car and top off the fluids (wind shield wiper, power steering, etc.) at no charge! What a great deal and out in no more than 15 minutes. My only hint of advice for next time is to let them know up front that you don't want them to take out your air filter and cabin filter (unless you want them to change it out for you). This is where they try to catch you on an up-sell at outrageous prices! With that in mind, don't hesitate to bring your car here. I will definitely keep this place at the top of my list when I need an oil change. ***** 5 Stars ***** read more

I'm new to the area & 100% clueless when it comes to my car. Thankfully I found this place! The staff at Tolsdorf was courteous and professional. Prices are comparable to the large chains, complete with great coupons and offers. However, they beat the big guys when it comes to convenience and customer relations. I was in and out in under 30 minutes for an oil change, transmission fluid and tire rotation. Not to mention the cleanliness of their waiting area is fantastic, compared to the other guys. All in all, I'll be back! read more

I've gone here many times, they're always super quick and super nice! Numerous times I was able to get an oil change done during a lunch break at work. I trust the guys that work here and I'll continue to come back as long as I live in the area. read more

Highly recommend. Quick and professional. Will definitely be back. They take COVID precautions.

Came here to get my AC refilled. The guys here checked my temperature from the system first. Told me I don't need to get anything done. Didn't charge me for that visit. This will be the reason I will come here for all car related needs. Hard to come by honest people. read more

We service all of our cars at Tolsdorf. We have used the West Chester, Exton and Kennett Square locations. We own a Toyota, a Mercedes and a BMW. The service technicians are consistently helpful and professional. They will also top off in between visits upon request. I love supporting local businesses and this one is a gem. read more

I stopped in previously to get my oil changed several times with no issues. My recent visit was for a new battery since I was told when I got my last oil change in August that I was as at 50% with my battery. At that time I was told the battery replacement would be $135 but when I returned it was $145. I sent an email to express my concern about the cost, fact that I didn't get a discount on my old battery which was unusual because other places will give you a discount on your battery when it's at 50% and the immediate response from Vince was no apology just telling me that I could return to have my old battery re-installed (since they still had it) and they would refund me for the new battery. Seriously...The amount of business I've given this location and this is the response I get is beyond ridiculous and unprofessional. This will be the very last time I give this place my money because clearly being a loyal customer doesn't mean anything to them. Unbelievable. There are too many other places in Chester County who would value me and my business. Thank you Vince for treating me like my loyalty and business did not matter. read more

Routinely overfill oil. Check it after they are finished!!! Tolsdorf's mechanics have overfilled the oil in my car multiple times, as well as other family members' cars. Last time I went to Tolsdorf, I checked my oil level immediately after they changed it and discovered that it was overfull. I notified their customer service guy, and he told me that it was "really not that bad." This is very disappointing, coming from a professional oil change facility. Over-full oil adds substantial stress to the gaskets and seals that keep an engine from leaking, because too much oil results in too much oil pressure. It will reduce the life your vehicle's engine over time. I called the owner of the franchise, Chris Tolsdorf, and told him personally on the phone about my experience. He completely blew me off. Other things that the guys at Tolsdorf say that are good for their business but bad for their customers: "Your differential oil should be changed every 15,000 miles." This is false. The industry standard is 50,000 miles. The mechanics at Tolsdorf also pulled my air filter out and showed it to me, telling me that it was dirty and needed to be changed. It was not nearly dirty enough to warrant replacement, and had a lot of life left in it. Bottom line: the guys at Tolsdorf look out for themselves, at the expense (literally) of their customers. If you go there, check your oil level as soon as they're finished and make sure it's not over filled. read more

I have been coming here ever since I moved to the area a few years ago. Always extremely professional, efficient, and friendly! Great waiting room. Convenient location. read more

I spent more time driving here, than actually waiting for the oils change to be completed. Super fast, convenient location- lots around in case they are busy and you have a wait. They guys were extremely polite, went through everything that I could possibly need, but didn't push service or products, which was great. Would definitely head there again read more

I never take my car to get serviced outside the dealership I bought it from. However the dealership was fully booked this week and I desperately needed to get an oil change before my weekend trip. I researched and read the reviews before I went here and I have to say they were awesome! They don't take appointments so I went during my lunch break and surprised it was not busy at all. With 15 mins my oil change was done along with all the extra services they throw in (like vacuum and windshield cleaning) what really impressed me is that the guys were very nice and not intimidating. They seem to love to work there and the cars they work on. I recently got my entire front end repaired and apparently that shop did not secure my battery on. The guys here made sure to make me aware of it and bolted it back into place for me. I will go here again no questions asked!! read more

My very favorite place to take my car! As someone who recently lost the person in my life who kept my car up to snuff - it's amazing to have a place that always has my back and keeps my car in great shape and is so trustworthy!! I will never take my car anywhere else- I took it somewhere else ONCE and I nearly lost my engine from someone not putting the oil filter on correctly and all my oil spewing out! I TOLE read more

Thanks for accepting my business 5 minutes before closing without even batting an eye. I know its Saturday and you all have better things to do. That was by far the fastest oil change I ever had. It's kind of pricey (tire rotation is not included and costs an extra $20), but hey, time is money. read more

I have been here twice. The service people are less than friendly and treat you with an attitude each time you walk in. They do very little to help you out with getting checked in and then try and sell you on $1000 worth of work your car doesn't need. If you can get your oil changed elsewhere do it. read more

The oil change was quick, thankfully! BUT I called beforehand to ask what my total price would be. They asked my make, model, and year of my car. I gave it to them and they gave me a price. They were only $5 more than another quick shop I called but this was supposed to include a quick vacuuming so I went with them. After it was done it was $8 more than I was quoted because it needed more oil and a filter (I just had the filter changed a couple months ago AND they should have known by my model that I needed more oil than their "regular price", otherwise why ask the make and model). I paid it and left, then once I got home I realize it wasnt vacuumed AT ALL even though I specifically asked if it was. Really bummed. I wont be back. read more

Not overly impressed by the service provided at this location, but they're okay! I needed to get an oil change in the Exton area and did a simple google search to find the best deal at a reputable place. I had been to Tolsdorf maybe (8-9) years ago so it was one that I trusted. I found a coupon for Tolsdorf online (one of the Google sponsored ads) for a 19.99 oil change. So I decided to go back to them. When i handed the coupon prior to service (as required on the page), I was told that the 19.99 deal is purely for an oil change and they would not vacuum the car, add other fluids, or do anything else. This kind of seems lame, considering other places will do the full service for the same price (with a coupon). What makes them better than most is the fact they're relatively honest. Every time I have gone for an oil change they always tell me I need a new air filter / cabin filter / windshield wipers etc. These guys are one of the first to come out and tell me that everything looks okay... That's pretty cool. read more

Great service! They offer you a lot of add one but the guys are always great. Rather go here than the dealership!

This is the ONLY place I go for "oil and lube". They're fast and professional and friendly, and although they suggest maintenance items or work that might be needed, they don't apply pressure. One time, the manager even performed a maintenance job that they do not advertise, and charged very little for it. I rarely go to dealership, and when I must, go to AAA, but Tolsdorf is THE PLACE for oil changes and light maintenance. Period!! read more

I will call Craig today to apologize for my previous review. The explanation given by Chris was dead on. The filter shown to me was the cabin filter, this was validated by a mechanic in my family where the filter was shown to me and was in bad shape. As mentioned in my review, I have been a loyal and satisfied customer for several years without incident and expect to be for years to come. This was a misunderstanding on my part and am grateful for the professional reply from Chris T. read more

Overall, my experience was good. Rob, who serviced my car, was very helpful and honest. Steve, who helped me when I came in, was extremely unfriendly and was even somewhat rude. If it was not for Rob, this rating would be much lower. I would return again, but they should really be conscious of who they put at the front desk. read more

Fast, friendly, informative. Great experience. Bonnie V.

Problem: Wiper fluid was not filled. Cap left off. No apology or acknowledgement from Ass't Mngr. they'd screwed up (big mistake)! Recommendation: Acknowledge your mistakes and offer solutions. First time customer. I spent 28 years in the Army and Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) was important. So I expected zero defects from Tolsdorf for something they specialize in and I generally do myself. Isolated incident from a customer never using their services? Judge for yourself. I was also offered an air filter replacement at something like $23.00. No thanks. The automotive store across the street sell them for $14.00. That's a huge mark-up even with five minutes of labor (timed myself). read more

Amazing fast service!! All the guys there do a great job and are extremely knowledgeable! I recommend this place to all my friends. They are very friendly and welcoming. They may be extremely busy but that just means they do a great job and people continuously return for a grade A service. Not to mention their prices are much lower than the dealership and it's the same quality! read more

Great service! Quick, easy, and everything was explained very clearly. They keep track of your previous visits and offer suggestions but don't make you feel pressured into any add-ons. So happy my car has a new, local place to visit! read more

After continuously ending up at my dealership for 2-3 hours minimum for just an oil change I am so glad I found this place. I was In and out in less than 20 minutes. They were very honest with me about not needing a tire rotation so soon. I would highly recommend! read more

Actually, A blended Synthetic is suggested and maintains the warranty per Honda. Perhaps that is what your employee was originally suggesting as it is less expensive. read more

I have been a customer of Tolsdorf, Exton for at least 20 yrs. Typically great experience every time I go in. The employee working the counter today was rude and very unprofessional. Most of the guys are professional and courteous. The guy working the counter Wed Feb 25th at 5:00pm will lose business for Tolsdorf. Absolutely horrible customer service!! I run a large contracting company in Exton. I have referred people to Tolsdorf in the past . I will take my business elsewhere and I will caution people to avoid this place due to the immature, bad attitude employee that represents the company at the front counter. I will be back when you are gone and I expect this wont be too long. read more
