HELL NO! No smoking room my ASS. Smelled of cigarette smoke and immediately got a headache beyond walking in. I do NOT recommend this place

The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

Also has a mini bar in the room. Only negative point is there was no refrigerator or microwave. Great restaurant located just off the lobby for a fine dining experience. Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

There is a scent that you can smell when you are in the lobby and getting into the elevator on the different floors, very earthy, masculine. As is the toiletry selection, which was nice. Pups are welcome, as witnessed by the water bowls in the entryway along with the names of the pups in-house each day. The rooms and the hotel did not have any doggy odor though, or signs that dogs were even there. The staff were super friendly and helpful, offering a welcome glass of champagne or a water upon arrival. The room was just HUGE. We were in the heritage suite. It had a king sized bed, with a double-sided fireplace between the sitting area and bedroom. Sitting area contained a leather couch and industrial coffee table, on one side flanked by a long work-surface. There was a mini fridge, but was mostly full of things they sell. The contents were very reasonably priced, surprisingly!! About $2 for water/pop, $5 for mini booze and $2 for most snacks. Not bad at all. The shower was super cool, with only a shower and built-in seat, rainfall showerhead and hand-head sprayer. Off to the side of the bedroom area was a huge soaking tub, with a hand-held sprayer. They even provide bath salts, a small sponge loofah to assist with your bathing pleasure. Bed was comfy and had reading lights on each side. Breakfast was pre-packaged scones or muffins, oatmeal and yogurt. This hotel was just beautiful. It was one of the nicest we have stayed out, with ample space for just hanging out in the room. It was right next to a river, with a walk-way off the back of it. A bit expensive for the room, but nice for special occasions.

I reached out to them twice in a week period about making specific arrangements such as early check-in, in which I never got a response. For the kind of money they ask for, I expect some kind of response. Because of this experience, I cancelled the reservation and booked at Hotel Goodwin, which was much cheaper and offered better service. However, Merrill & Houston's Steak Joint inside the hotel is another story. They are fantastic which I will be giving 5 stars in a different review. It's unfortunate the hotel doesn't match that kind of service I received at the restaurant.

I'm writing four reviews that compare them all to one another. All four reviews have the same opening two paragraphs, and then a paragraph specific to each hotel. Night 1 was the Drury Plaza Hotel in Milwaukee - which ranked #1 of the 4, and grades out as an "A". Exceptional staff, free parking, and a nice breakfast. Night 2 was Home2Suites in Beloit - which ranked #3 of the 4, and would grade out as a C. Night 3 was the Hampton Inn & Suites Madison East Towne Mall Area in Madison, which was #2 of the 4, and grades out as an B-. Night 4 was the Wilderness Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, which ranked #4 of the four, and grades out as a D. We arrive around 4pm and check in was a breeze. Lobby is nice and staff were efficient, though not overly warm or welcoming. Our room smelled terrible. We got used to it, but it was the smell of something bad happening, and then a heck of a lot of cleaning to make the bad thing go away, only to have some of the cleaning and some of the bad linger and mingle together. I wanted to change rooms, but my group is not one for making a scene so we stuck with it. Beds were comfy though there were no outlets near my side of the bed, which seems like hotel 101. Bathroom was okay. Breakfast was decent, though the seating area was small. It was a decent enough stay, but when I compare all four (which were all similarly priced) this one felt less like we got what we paid for. It's okay.

So, I booked it at a special rate for Beloit college families. I was very pleased. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I asked for a quitet room. They put me on the second floor way down the hall. It was perfect. Very quiet. Also very convenient to the side door entrance right off the parking lot. Didn't eat the food as we were busy and it didn't seem too amazing, basic breakast food. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. The room was clean and most importantly the sheets felt very clean and cozy. It's a basic room at an affordable price. It is a bit dated but clean. Wi Fi was spotty as usual in most hotels like this. It worked most of the time though. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Beloit to visit my son.

The shower screamed when it was on during our entire stay. The carpet is folding and coming up. The television didn't work. The free wifi was difficult to sign in to and would kick you off at random intervals. When any issues arose no one would answer the phone at the desk. When we went to the desk the only desk person of any help was a tall young lady who worked in the morning. The night auditors slept during their shift. One of the auditors absolutely would not help with anything. The more mature night auditor swore at me twice, one time after I said good morning. The final straw is that when I had a cardiac issue and had to come to the hospital possibly dying they decided to evict my wife. So my wife who was worried about whether her husband would live or die was told by an old gentlemen (no nametag, no employees had nametags) who refused to give his name. I am writing this review from the cardiac unit at Beloit memorial hospital. To advise people not to stay here is insufficient. The behavior of this business is beyond the pale.
