Asked for diagnostics regarding oil pump. They only stated the obvious which was the cat that i was already aware of. After paying for a diagnostic not done and oil change, a different mechanic (retired) found that it was the water pump in literally 10 minutes . They tried to charge me for basically everything (transmission flush coolant power steering) etc. but never mentioned water pump which is why the car was overheating which is why I asked for a diagnostic to begin with. She told me "they ran tests and it was fine". Only thing she stressed was the cat. They also made a "note" saying they asked for additional time for diagnostics but that I "denied it" which is a total lie. Still waiting on my refund for a diagnostic my car never got. I took a couple days to reflect on my experience before posting this review so that it would be fair... I had an issue with my F150 so instead of dealing with the other dealership in Tyler I gave this place a try. After explaining the issue I was having with the service department we setup a drop off for Friday morning at 7:30am at which point I said I needed a loaner or a ride home. After 30 minutes of waiting someone was sent from the Dodge dealership to take me home, remind you I called to set this up yet they still didn't have a courtesy shuttle driver scheduled for when I dropped off my vehicle... Anyhow I drop off the vehicle and wait...and wait...and wait. This was a simple inspection of the braking system not a massive tear down. At 3:30 I'm finally given a call from a different service associate informing me "we had a lot of guys leave early so I'm the only one here and I'm trying to pick up where the truck is currently." Fine, I have patience for that things happen. After 8 hours of being in the shop I'm informed the truck needs "OEM pads and lug nuts (swollen and can't get back on)." I asked why OEM pads are needed to diagnose pads dragging on the rear calipers at which I'm told the technician says "the replacements don't have a return spring" (nor do the factory OEM pads). So, I ask for a price of repair and they inform me ~$700 of which is a $198 "diagnostic fee." Said fee was never discussed in the original phone call (I assure you they will respond to this review stating differently, so let's see if they can recall the conversation verbatim.) Had I known the cost of the diagnostic fee I would have taken to another dealership that's $100/diagnosis, yes I'm very aware diagnostics aren't free. Lastly, the technician stated they can't do any sort of testing on brake components without OEM products on the vehicle. I can understand this but what I can't understand is why the service agent I spoke with originally, who knew I put aftermarket pads on, didn't inform me they wouldn't diagnose without factory equipment. So, basically how this played out is I spoke with a service agent that clearly didn't pay attention to the customer. I then was hustled by said service agent for a $200/diagnostic fee he failed to mention after also failing to inform me they wouldn't be able to do any detailed diagnostics without OEM equipment. We were advised to go to Toliver Ford in Mineola, Tx for routine service on our 2023 F150. Boy are we glad we did. Called the service number and was scheduled for service the very next day. Got to dealership and was greeted by Service Advisor Flint Stone. He got us in promptly with the whole process running smoothly. He kept us informed of progress and informed us of several items that needed attention. When Flint showed us the dirty air and cabin filters it is no wonder our milage was dropping. Service was completed promptly and thoroughly. Could not have asked for a better service experience. Waiting room was comfortable and very clean. StarI went to Toliver Ford (Sept. 2024) for a diagnostic because my 2010 F150 was making a noise and felt as a rumble as I was climbing a hill prior to down shifting and going down a hill coasting. I explained the sound and felt it as, when you run over the white line on the passenger side of the road as a rumble to the Ford Service Adviser. She read her notes back to me to verify being correct. In her notes of the problem the Service Advisor wrote down "shutter" and not the rumble as I described. She then told me that there would be a $198.00 charge for this service. I went to the waiting room and approximately 10 to 15 minutes later I saw my truck in front of the service area. I waited patiently for another 45 minutes and decided to check with my service adviser. She stated that they were putting together a price for me. I went and sat patiently again for another hour. Mind you my appointment was as 9:30am and it is now 12 noon. When I approached the Service Advisor, she stated that they did not have the number yet. I then asked if they could call me with the results, she replied yes. We both went into the service area to pay the $198.00 and retrieve my key. This is now 12:30pm and as I am paying the fee the service advisor then states verbally the "Torque Converter is bad and my truck needs to also have the transmission fluid, filter, and transmission system flushed for a total cost of $2600.00. The Advisor then informed me the I should not be driving the truck until it gets fixed. I was not given a written estimate, or anything in writing stating or itemizing the work needed at this time. The advisor stated it would be emailed to me. I received the email only stating that payment was received ($198.00). When I got home, I researched not only the noise and feel of the problem, I researched "shutter." To my surprise, shutter is a known issue to Ford and all its Dealerships. It is well known that not only my 2010 F150 is affected, but it includes a couple of years prior and 10 years after my model. This is the 6R80 transmission that is also put into many other Ford vehicles. I feel totally scammed by this Ford Dealer for charging me $198.00 for a known issue. It would seem to me all the dealership did was drive my truck as there was not time for my truck to cool down to do any specific diagnostics. Then there is the time I sat in their waiting room, for what? I am 65 years old and maybe look like an easy mark. Buyer and service needed beware. Auto parts stores carry a liquid called "Shutter Fix." I put this in myself, I don't know how long this will last, my truck works just fine and the noise and feel (shutter) was gone almost immediately after application.
